I'd like to have more dialogues and banters with party members.

They rarely speak during missions, except their own ones, and just have some dialogues (not even a large number, Garrus has about two conversations if you're male) on the Normandy.

Oh, and they should interact more even between them and not only with the player.

Just a couple things.

1) Bioticswere underpowered in ME2. Not being able to use any of your abilities whenever someone was armored or shielded, (other than warp/reave) which the enemies were most of the time, made playing a biotic class alot less fun. Maybe in ME3, for say pull, unarmored, it floats someone for 6 seconds. Armored, it floats them for three.

2) Vehicles. Keep some kind of vehicle in ME3. The ME1 mako sections didn't turn out perfectly, but that's no reason to cut vehicle gameplay out of the game. I thought the firewalker was great.

3) *MOST IMPORTANT* Don't bring in an almost entire new cast of party members this time. Not having Ash/Kaidan, Wrex, or Liara on your team in ME2 was a big letdown. And since the entirety of ME2 was spent developing the new cast, it'd be a waste if most of those characters were resigned to cameos in ME3. It'd be great to see a cast with a mix of ME1 and 2 characters in ME3. Please, bring Ash/Kaidan and Liara back!

I liked how you could see characters grow in ME2, and their relationship with Shepard grow and evolve throughout the game, but I want to see that same thing happen between squad mates. Basically the only ones who had some kind of evolving relationship in ME2 was Tali and Legion, and that basically only lasted one conversation. The squad mates on the ship shouldn't just just stay on the same spot all the time, they should walk around, and interact with each other. Whether that "walking around" is randomly walking around, or scripted like the Legion/Tali thing doesn't matter, as long as it leads to the other characters becoming more fleshed out.

This second thing is just my own "want", probably not everyone wants it:

In both ME1 and 2, I always felt like in a fight between Shepard and any squad mate, Shep would always win. In ME3, I want a squad mate who's more badass than Shepard. Maybe someone who's a Spectre?

Lastly: Why have all of Shep's potential love interests been squad mates? Why not someone else on the ship? Or even someone off the ship entirely?

HANAR SQUAD MATE!!

haha Just kidding of course. Your cant tell me it wouldn't be hilarious though.

For those like me though who wanted planet exploration like in ME 1 should check out this video.

Casey hudson talks about overlord DLC and how they are thinking of ways to implement full on planetary exploration in ME3.

I wonder if anyone from Bioware actually reads this thread.

For the romance plots... I'd like to see my Shepard called out for being a two timing, womanizing cheater.

He can't get away with trying to date &/or hooking up with every romance-able lady in the game without any repercussions, can he?

Some one should start calling him a "man-****" or else maybe the new ladies should be told that they know of his reputation... or something?

Yeah we're racking up the people I really really don't want to have to find 12 more people and do their sidquests! I don't mind us going to go get people like all of ME1 except Liara, Wrex and ME2 crew ecept all who died in SM or Thane just ask them outright to join you and sense you already did loyalty missions for these people then no more is required if you pick up anyone new from 3 like members to replace Thane, Liara, Wrex, those killed then you can do loyalty mission for these people.

I'm still a supporter of have more recruit able potentials then you can bring w/ you so you can really customize your ship w/ all ME1 or 2 charas or mix them together or get new ME3 squad chara and combo them with 1 or 2 charas allows for easy max replay value and makes it different depending on who you combo into the team.

Tali and Garrus have to come back love them

I like the idea of biotic interrupts the series does seem to ignore biotic Shep like in the SM Shep could've done his own damn barrier just bring a 3 person squad to shoot for him ya' know?

Keep slow mode for Infiltrators when sniping I like this feature but can you add this mode to all sniper carrying classes?

More shields and longer storm for Soldier class and longer shield duration make them use a knife for melee or at least hit with their rifle not their elbow.

Loved the hand to hand moments in SB bring this in when fighting Krogan or some bosses and if you need to use it more then say 3 times Shep ends up injured and can't use an arm and running is slow for some time.

More abilities to talk to Garrus and Tali about the old days and also in general sense they've been w/ you from the beginning

Also more frank moments w/ curtain crew loved Liara's concern can we have more moments like this w/ Liara but also Tali and Garrus I was so happy when she started asking those questions and I could generally answer her w/ some feeling.

I like the idea of squad mates leaving on occasion if you really need them just ask EDI she'll tell you once I came in and Jacob was not in the armory I combed the ship looking for him to no avail I wish I could've asked EDI and she'd tell me where he was about the only place I didn't look was the men's bathroom so maybe he was in there but I think he just disappeared.

I think the ability to start an off ship relationship would be neat if you romanced kaiden or ashly its a work issue and if you romanced anyone on SR2 then you were civilian so it's ok. But a port option LI would be neat maybe they hit on you a few times.

I think the suggestion of Shep always winning in a fight comes from Wrex he's always asking who would win in a fight between you and Shepard? But maybe a Spector or bad guy who kicks Shepard's ass and kidnaps him for experiments or something.

Shep is so a man**** I think though they will give bonuses for faithful Sheps and you're LI's will have a fight if you didn't I wonder how bad its going to be sense I romanced Liara first and Talli second! I may not live long if I break up with Liara!

Better combat animations. eg not constantly pointing your gun in front of you
Better cover animations. Something like Mafia II RDR or Uncharted.
Varied cover instead of copy pasted cover.
Flowing clothes and hair.
A normal walking speed.
Idle animations that aren't a cluster**** of stretching.
I'd like some missions that don't take place on a perfect day.
Less calibrations more dialog.
Wrex.
Urz.
Planetary exploration. While we're at it if you implement planetary exploration let us get out of whatever shark related vehicle we're in.
Helmet toggle.
More hair.
Party Banter
The ability to change the name of The Citadel to The Shepard. Or at the very least a big statue with your name on it.
Female Krogan
Female Turians
Female Batarians
The ability to not go to hub worlds armed to the teeth.
Squad making comments on or approving/disapproving of your actions.

We are rolling guys/girls lets just hope bioware are reading our posts.

I agree with some of the posts that we should not have to recruit a whole new party, I/we have become attached to many of the party members through ME & ME2. A few new party members would be acceptable but i feel the emphasis of the game (as far as missions are concerned) should concentrate on recruiting whole species to our galactic cause, not just individuals. To achieve our objective against the reapers will require brute strength and numbers, not some magical artifact/individual. For our mission to succeed (if we have any chance of success) we require whole factions and above all else, unity between species, to survive our darkest hour.

I do hope we will still be able to use the Normandy, if we cannot, i suggest stealing it as Destroy Raiden says, a little bit of TWOC (taking without owners concent) maybe necessary.

Cocytus you are on the ball, I too loved Faunts M4 part II for the ending of ME, for me it was the perfect sound to a perfect end. Although the music was great for ME2 throughout the game, the final choice of music for the ending & credits was undermined (a little dissapointing) compared to the first.

Wow you actually succeeded on pointing MANY things what needs to be added in ME3, in my opinion at least. If i may ad i think:

All missions should not be just shooting but maybe driving, escaping, sneaking or something to ad variety in the game.

New ways to find things on planets. Maybe mako or other driving viehicle, Submarine like to get to bottoms of the sea's and something to explore caves.

All classes should not be played by the same way, like cover shoot, cover shoot...

Loads of weapons, armors and melee would be nice! There should be own armor for all classes and It should not be easy to get them like Me1 (I ACTUALLY BOUGHT WHOLE INVENTORY AND I THOUGHT I WAS SELLING STUFF, SO I SOLD EVERYTHING AND BOUGHT WHAT I NEEDED AGAIN AND STILL HAD LIKE MOUNTAIN OF MONEY LEFT)

Melee

Um...MELEE

I know just what you mean. M4 Pt.2 added even more pensive romantic vibe to the space opera which, as a genre, has to convey (to an extent) that feeling of solitude which is the endless space void. And that made 'building bridges' so much more of a concern, as a result we liked the characters better.
On top of that ME series is a movie, in a way, and thus deserves an adequate ending song.

Edit: one more thing, I sincerely hope the devs will let us listen to the Reapers' point of view. I mean, maybe there's a good reason for what they've been doing since the dawn of time, and maybe we should be given a chance to figure it out for ourselves. Imho that was, pure imho.

Well, im on my 8 or 9th playthrough right now, you really start to notice things this far down the road.. Some were noticed in the beginning and were already posted within this 200+ page thread but here are some things I would really like to see either added or improved upon in Mass Effect 3:

- I truly loved the combat system in ME2.. I hope this returns for Mass Effect 3, the biotics could have been better though. If you are a pure Adept, then you should almost feel like a powerful Jedi, basic Kinetic Barriers shouldn't stop your biotics from harming the enemy. Warp is the only power that does any damage to barriers and it takes forever to cooldown.. BioWare must beef up the Biotics in ME3, add a few more "original" powers, reduce cooldown's at the expense of damage dealt if necessary, and PLEASE allow biotics to damage shields and barriers, I shouldn't have to fire a single bullet if I am a pure Adept.. I'm sure there is some tweaking BW could do to the entire combat system to make it even more awsome..

- Sure, it is an action RPG but all the missions required gunning someone down. There was no variety whatsoever besides the main objective. I would very much like to see a greater variety in mission types, possibly add some pick up and drop off missions, even planetory exploration missions. anything to just get me away from "talk, shoot, cover, talk, repeat..."

- Going from my last suggestion, I would love to see explorable planets like in Mass Effect 1. I enjoyed jumping in the Mako and looking for artifacts.. To add some incentive to retrieve these artifacts, possibly make them reflect on the main storyline.. Finding new systems and exploring it's planets could lead to technological leaps for the mission, possibly discovering new weapons/defence tech created by races millions of years old.. This doesn't mean I don't want to see some diversity in the planets we get to visit, basically add in the exploration from ME1 and the planet diversity in ME2 and we got the perfect combination..

- Moral Choice.. TBH I am not a fan of the morality system in ME2. Paragon is too Idealist and Renegade is too ****. If we decide to be Neutral then it leads to certain characters not becoming loyal.. A true Renegade in my eyes is someone along the lines of John Marsten from Red Dead Redemption, he is sincere when the situation calls for sincerity and an **** when someone bad deserves a shot in the head.. Our choices we have now are too, BLACK AND WHITE..

- Customization is something that should have a bigger role in the game, especially a game like Mass Effect where technology plays a big part in the universe.. I would like to see interchangable weapon mods in ME3, different mods obviously offer different benefits.. Ammo type should no longer be a "power", it should be somthing you choose before a mission.. BW has the right idea with armor customization, but if they expand on it, add more armor choices, we shouldn't be stuck with N7 grade armor, if I buy some armor illegally, it should have higher bonuses at the expense of morality, so you'd gain Renegade points.

- Side missions weren't very plentiful in ME2. I would really like to see them expanded upon for ME3. I'd love a system where we get a certain character who randomly generates missions for us.. Side missions should somewhat tie into the main storyline and not completely go off-course. Maybe we could have missions where we just have to explore the galaxy to find new systems and planets, if we find a suitable planet to sustain life, then we could get a colony started there using the resources of Cerberus of the Alliance..

- Squad's loyalty to me through 1 mission, though this is a good idea, its not perfect and it needs to be more realistic.. Simply helping someone kill another person shouldn't make them loyal, you should have to visit them frequently to hear what they have to say, add some incentive to actually talk to that character.. Instead of just one mission, it could be a series of missions with one objective, so mini storylines basically..

- I really liked how in ME1 your squad would often talk to each other, in ME2 this was pretty much taken out. In ME3, I would like to see a return of this and more. Your squad should not only talk to you and amongst themselves during missions but they should also be in the conversations more.. Make it feel like they are all comrades and not just "your" friend, while on the ship, they should hang out, talk in the mess hall etc....

- Hub worlds are a nice place to visit but are very limited in activities, or even places to go.. Add more than one club to each Hub, just add something to make these places more lifelike and less boring, I got an idea, make the people actually walk around and not dance in the same spot 24/7..

There is so much more I would like to suggest but my post will wither away within these 200+ pages...

To expand on Cris Shepard ideas I agree some hub or port stations should have more variety and also be larger maybe not on the Citadel scale wise but one trip and I've seen it all its like going to Anime USA vs Otakon the bigger the con the more fun it is for 3 days to do...so make the hub stations bigger. With clubs, fights and side quests.

Some side quest should tie in with the game finding random Cerberus sites where they've screwed themselves over is fun but they do need a few to tie in it would be neat. I like the idea of some side quest allowing you to unlock curtain up grades or get unique weapons but don't point them out on the map maybe you need to hack into across the universe and they say about interesting worlds they've heard rumors on that have cool things ect.

I liked in red dead redemption how a girl would be attacked by a stranger and you could shoot him dead or an outlaw is running from cops and you can shoot him or the cops chasing him but I don't think this type of moral add on would be use in or useful to ME world .

Bring back the rpg-ness and great movie style plot

Sex scenes like one you could always put in the options menu to toggle weather or not its shown so players can decide if they want to keep the black out screen or allow it to play out. Personally I think all those who made issue of it from 1 never mature games ever so had no clue that this type of thing is already there and far worse in some games.

one thing I would like to see is make Shepard more vulnerable be it emotionally or in action like if they did do an idea for resetting the stats of Cerberus or a part of the alliance capturing Shepard and tortured by them with your crew rescuing him/her don't do what you did in the 2nd game and have Shepard get out of bed after being brought back from the dead with no ill effects at all

another thing is bring the LIs back and have them as someone for shepard to talk open with like liara says in sb not what you tell the crew how do you really feel

also as its the last shepard game it should be massive epic I would be happy with 3 disks for this

To add to my earlier post I have a few more smaller suggestions:

- Make different armor mods actually have a significant change in what it is actually affecting.. If it says Raises Shepard's Accuracy by 10% then it should be amped up to 25% so we can actually see a difference..

- I would like more than a Private Quarters on my ship, let me possibly buy a house on a Hub World, or an appartment. This could be a place where we settle down with our love interest after the main storyline is finished..

- Allow us to gather resources and sell them, this would require the introduction of an actual economic system.

- Shepard should be able to wear whichever casual clothes he/she wants, we should be able to buy all the clothes in the game..

- I know this isn't oblivion or fallout but I think joining some kind of faction and completing missions to gain rank would be interesting.. Maybe a gun club of some sort, not any mercenary band or anything like that.. I would like to actually feel as though I am a leader of something instead of just being part of a squad.

- Better ship customization

- It's time for change in the Character Creation area of the game.. There simply isn't enough variety in how we make our character.. I want sliders that actually change proportions, not just preset garbage.. Hair is the worst, it looks greasy and your either Full Military, or a loser with all the hair styles.. Every single one of my Shepards has a weird pointy set of cheekbones, no matter how many characters I create, i always end up with the same general looking character...

- Thermal Clips need to be expanded on... If you run out of clips, your gun shouldn't be useless, it should still be able to shoot, but you have to wait for a cooldown every time you use it, the point of thermal clips is to just cooldown instantly.. I think we should be able to buy more ammo in between missions, for heavy weapons and normal weapons..

- Less loading screens, these are huge immersion breakers.. Instead of loading screens couldn't you do some cutscenes while the game loads? When I return to the Normandy I shouldn't see a loading screen, it should be like ME1 where you walk right through all the doors onto the Normandy.. As well as the loading screens, I would like to see the mission reports either gone or changed to some sort of datapad that shepard looks at once back in his/her private quarters, it makes the game seem to arcady..

I would really like for neutrality to play a much larger role in Shepard's character development. I wasn't so fond of how you were forced to be super paragon or renegade to be able to unlock all of the persuasion conversations. I think that a morally "gray" Shepard would be really interesting, someone who is intelligent and reasoned, but not a sap and who is also not afraid to be a hard-ass from time to time without being a complete D-Bag. I'm not sure how this could be implemented in gameplay terms, perhaps if the Paragon Renegade scores are within a certain level of similarity it would unlock either conversation option, forcing the player to keep a tab on their meters if they want to continue to be neutral. Shep would be able to make a few big either-or choices though that would allow for some serious character development if the player so chooses; or, maybe there could be a more or less neutral choice at the end that makes for a rather bittersweet but satisfying ending of Shepard's story.

Feel free to critique, praise, or flat out kill this idea with fire; it's my first post on this forum and I would like to know what people think.

I have not read the entire thread, so this may be in the list already - Armor and guns (except side arm) off on settled worlds - the Citadel and main areas of Omega and illium. No need to go out all armored up, especially since the team looks no different, just to talk to someone. Most areas have a squad/weapon selection screen before a mission starts on (for instance) the Citadel - at that point, whatever armor chosen before arrival would be added.

It would be great if every dialogue wheel had 3 options for positive, negative and neutral comments. Even a gray next to the the blue/red comments. In some cases a neutral option would be weird in ME1 and 2 though but Bioware said ME3 will have lots more directions to push the story events

You have played Mass Effect right? Melee has been in the game from the start of the series.

What would be interesting though, is if you made different melee attacks rather than a right elbow only. Maybe throw some left elbows, knees, kicks.

- If you're a full blown biotic, the cutscenes should adjust in response. IE so that you're not using your gun.
Also, you shouldn't have your gun out pointing all the time if you are a biotic. That was fake looking.

- Add powers effective against shields as a biotic.

***FIX THE GLITCHES THAT HAVE BEEN PRESENT SINCE MASS EFFECT 1!!!***
This is a huge one. I completely resent the fact that you guys have failed to correct game-breaking glitches that persisted in both the first and second games. I hate when my character gets stuck in a wall and magically floats above the level and gets stuck, or when I turn and Shepard's character model doesn't turn with the camera. I love you Bioware, but this is far from acceptable. I understand there will always be glitches in games, but for God's sake, make 3 more glitch resistant.

- When you slam somebody, after lifting them, it would be cool if Shepard clenched his fist whenever they're slammed to the ground. This would emphasize the power of slam and would make it even cooler than it already is.

- Instead of making Pull's level 4 upgrade just last longer which is almost completely pointless, make it so that it can yank them with incredible force, incapacitating them and/or causing more
damage. Also, add in the epic bone crushing noise when you pull them like this. Pull field was awesome though, keep that.

- Make it so that shockwave knocks enemies back a certain radius around you, instead of in a path in front of you. Kind of like when the tech armor for the Sentinel is destroyed. I really just didn't like the way shockwave worked in ME2.

- As an infiltrator, make it so that he can perform an assasinate move if you approach an enemy from behind undetected. Similar to Kasumi's special move.

- Bring back toxic ammo! I miss it.

- Make the vanguard's charge more variable in its animation sequence. Make it so that sometimes he looks like he just threw an incredibly hard punch or elbow, instead of just a headbutt type deal.

- In the conversation system, add the option to correct yourself. Say you perform a renegade action, you can perform a paragon action afterwards. Let me explain this one as I have a perfect example. In the ship when you first meet the engineers on the lower deck, when you say "I didn't hear an officer on deck!", as the engineer is stumbling with his words nervously, put a paragon action afterward allowing you to say something like "I'm just messing with you guys. I like to joke around a bit!". Or the opposite, where you act nice, and then turn around and say "What you really thought I was your buddy? Get to work, NOW!" or something.

- If you still decide to include other forms of currency other than Credits, ie minerals, make an economy system allowing you to trade them in for other minerals or credits like you did in one of the DLC's that I will not mention.

- Make more combinations of powers.

A few ideas are as follows
Incinerate + Warp: Will cause enemy to explode with flames, or at least cause flames to shoot everywhere if they're on fire as you warp them.
Incinerate + Pull: Will cause fire to propegate in the direction of the pull.
Singularity + Incinerate: Will cause the singularity to dispense flames around it, enemies passing nearby will not only be held in zero-G briefly but will also catch fire.
Singularity + Cryo blast: Same as above, except enemies will freeze.

I'm more than certain you guys can concoct some more with whatever new powers you'll bring to the table.
- ANYTIME an enemy is blue (ie biotic energy has been absorbed), warp should explode them. This should include slam.

That's all I have for now. Hopefully my post isn't overlooked and lost in the 300+ pages that are sure to develop on this forum. Thank you Bioware for making such an INCREDIBLY REMAKABLE game!!!!
