There are things in this fourm which I agree with and disagree with. But that is for another time. What I saw(granted I only read the first two pages and the last page), was mostly techinical in nature(i.e.: or or against Mako, etc...). But there are a lot of aspects to the story with which I will focus today...

1. Resolution of the Quarian race (will they get home or not, and at least see ONE of them unmasked)

2. Any surviving team members from the first two games being playable in the finale.

3. A Batrarian member

4. What happens to the Geth? Do they slaughter wholesale or do they find their place in the galaxy.

5. Krogans! Does the Genophage get reversed and if so, do they attack and fight manicially?

6. What happens to Thane?

7. Tying the events of the Liar of the Shadowbroker into ME3.

8. Choosing a side (which will effect the flavor of the game, but not the final outcome) i.e.: if you choose Cerberus or Alliance the end of the story remains somewhat intact. But the end resolves through the decisions in the story line more than alliegence.

These are just a few of the many long running things in the first two games I hope to see...(all of course are in my opinion, and please forgive the horrible grammtic and spelling errors )

As for the game play side of it...

1. I liked the missions where you took the Mako from one location to the other...think Noveria (ME1).

2. If BioWare can integrate more locations in the third installment, I'd love to revisit some of the planets(locations) in the first two games to see the results of our labors (or course, not at the cost of a great finale)

3. A fourth squad member??

4. (I am playing ME2 now on Insanity) and I'm getting sick of the squad dying a second into a battle(standard and boss) and I have to fight it alone and run out of ammo half of the time...Just sayin'

5. Bring back the "docked ship" aspect of the game. I loved being able to "walk on board" from a location. And if I chose to leave, then use the Galaxy map.

6. IF the Hammerhead makes a comeback... SHIELDS!

7. I'm not a miner...Just saying...Maybe scale down the cost of goods and make all of our resources pick ups.

8. More planets to land on for side quests. This is something I think was lacking in the second game. I'd like to be able to land my craft (Mako or Hammer or a hybrid of the two) away from a enemy base and travel to it. or land at a hub location or friendly base via the "ME1 docking"

9. Elevator trips! I learned so much of the ME Universe using elevators with news, and the characters interacting while moving around a hub or base. Plus it was kind of cool to hear updates about the things you did...

10. And finally...a system for choosing EITHER paragon or renegade(at least sometimes) when a choice comes up. (There is a point in the Archangel recruitment story where you can only renegade, but I didn't see anything for paragon the whole time)

Thanks (please forgive my spelling and grammar errors, and remember this is only my opinion of things)

I didn't like how the Mako handled, but I actually enjoyed driving around planets looking for stuff. I like nothing about the Hammerhead, quite frankly. As a vehicle it could work, but it's somehow too "cute." The snarky VI voice is kind of cool, but the "mining" mechanic is, to my mind, straight-up silly. Not that I want to have to get out and do some mini-game to mark a mineral resource, either. Something in between would be nice though: the ability to get out, if you find an abandoned building somewhere. I've said this before, but one of my favorite things about ME 1 was how space exploration was made to seem--despite the technology available--still a very lonely and dangerous undertaking. In ME 2, I felt the greater danger was from the people who live in space, rather than the deadly environment being just as big a factor. So I'm not against vast expanses of nothingness on the explorable planets, though I am somewhat against planets that have completely unnavigable terrain (there were quite a few of those). There has to be some middle ground between the two. But for God's sake, enough of the "frogger-esque" plaforming. I just don't see that having a place in the Mass Effect universe.

Somewhat related: why on earth were our squadmates, with the exception of Garrus and Tali, wearing weird little hospital masks over their faces when we went into outerspace? What happened to space helmets/ suits? That lack of "realism" took me out of the game more than any of the loading screens, and I think it was probably the greatest flaw of character design--that your squad's uniforms didn't seem especially tailored either to the hazards of combat, or of their environment.

I completely agree with both of your remarks (your really hit the nail on the head with the thought about the vastness of space). There is something to be said just rolling along a desolate plain on a high pressure planet not know what lurks around the next mountain (or under the ground). While I personally loved the Mako, the aspect of vast, open planets was one of the best features in ME1 (that I sorely missed in ME2).

***FIX THE GLITCHES THAT HAVE BEEN PRESENT SINCE MASS EFFECT 1!!!***
This is a huge
one. I completely resent the fact that you guys have failed to correct
game-breaking glitches that persisted in both the first and second
games. I hate when my character gets stuck in a wall and magically
floats above the level and gets stuck, or when I turn and Shepard's
character model doesn't turn with the camera. I love you Bioware, but
this is far from acceptable. I understand there will always be glitches in games, but for God's sake, make 3 more glitch resistant.

YES!!!!!
For a while I thought I was the only one who had the glitch of floating up a wall (it happened SO MANY times in ME2).

There are so many amazing things in the mass effect universe and also things that just shhould never be. Both games have been amazing, People say ME2 was short, well yes but everything that needed to be done to make ME3 epic was covered. No matter what happens ME3 will be epic but it could be epicly epic.

For those of you who want to see earth. no! we've a dozen other species in the game who's homeworlds we can find and explore, gorgeouse landscapes and spacescapes to enjoy, screw earth.

In ME1 there was no limit to the number of times we could land on a planet or station and explore just for the sake of exploring, in ME2 some locations became locked out as soon as we completed the mission, the slums on Omega, all the landing missions, and really locking us out of the quarian fleet?

As expected there was the amazing story, the interrupt option was fun and so much more. characters you loved and some you hated (jacob damn you)

The new galaxy map is beautiful and i love how we can jump to a relay and then branch off to the neighboring systems, not that we could do much when we got to them but it has massive potential.
All i can say is dont limit yourselves. Dont worry about how many CDs its going to need or how long the game would be with tons of sidequests or anything like that. if it has to be 8 CDs then use 8CDs The mass effect franchize has limitles potential and it was a shame to see it become so limited in the second game. Open up and let go, there's a whole galaxy of races and worlds to discover and explore. In ME1 we were shown an amazing galaxy to explore at our leisure, in ME2 that galaxy was squeezed down due to the constraints that had to be met as an intermediary game, in ME3 we can again open wide and explore everything once again, sure there's the whole invasion thing but what abojut afterwards. let us buy maps to new systems (just not all right there at the one and only map store) let us accidentally find some scattered throughout missions or some random explorable planet. let us find a supernova or a rouge planet, or aincient ships adrift in space, surly the krogans, asari, hannar, etc have ships too. Let us feel the unique traits of each species, the amazment and wonder we felt the first time we played. Let us see their homeworlds, their art, let us suffer their otherworldly weather. Let us be arrested for tripping an elcor or releiving ourselves in the seas of the hannar. Let us eat at samesh batias new restaurant, and go drinking with the krogan. Have fun and go wild.

Regardless of any suggestions we make i know you'll make it an amazing game and i will be happy with it. I only have one real request. Let me kill Jacob. Every time a new team member comes abord, there he is in the conference room looking down on them, giving his unwanted opinions and butting into the conversation, second guessing my orders. Jacob, i'm in charge of this mission and this ship, you are a footsoldier. Know your place or i'll give you one in the airlock.

take the lair of the shadow broker idea of investments and make it bigger and  this would create an economy also to get stuff you got from mining maybe add something like a stock market where you can buy trade these things and they have different prices on different planets this would get rid of mining

if you do bring the mako back please god don't have us driving up hills and rocks again that was the problem if you are flat ground the mako was good it was the terrain it was on that was the bad thing

oh and little blue babies

Melee

Um...MELEE

And maybe....nah......oh now i remember MELEEEEEEE!Posted Image

You have played Mass Effect right? Melee has been in the game from the start of the series.

What would be interesting though, is if you made different melee attacks rather than a right elbow only. Maybe throw some left elbows, knees, kicks.

- If you're a full blown biotic, the cutscenes should adjust in response. IE so that you're not using your gun.
Also, you shouldn't have your gun out pointing all the time if you are a biotic. That was fake looking.

- Add powers effective against shields as a biotic.

***FIX THE GLITCHES THAT HAVE BEEN PRESENT SINCE MASS EFFECT 1!!!***

- When you slam somebody, after lifting them, it would be cool if Shepard clenched his fist whenever they're slammed to the ground. This would emphasize the power of slam and would make it even cooler than it already is.

- Instead of making Pull's level 4 upgrade just last longer which is almost completely pointless, make it so that it can yank them with incredible force, incapacitating them and/or causing more
damage. Also, add in the epic bone crushing noise when you pull them like this. Pull field was awesome though, keep that.

- Make it so that shockwave knocks enemies back a certain radius around you, instead of in a path in front of you. Kind of like when the tech armor for the Sentinel is destroyed. I really just didn't like the way shockwave worked in ME2.

- As an infiltrator, make it so that he can perform an assasinate move if you approach an enemy from behind undetected. Similar to Kasumi's special move.

- Bring back toxic ammo! I miss it.

- Make the vanguard's charge more variable in its animation sequence. Make it so that sometimes he looks like he just threw an incredibly hard punch or elbow, instead of just a headbutt type deal.

- In the conversation system, add the option to correct yourself. Say you perform a renegade action, you can perform a paragon action afterwards. Let me explain this one as I have a perfect example. In the ship when you first meet the engineers on the lower deck, when you say "I didn't hear an officer on deck!", as the engineer is stumbling with his words nervously, put a paragon action afterward allowing you to say something like "I'm just messing with you guys. I like to joke around a bit!". Or the opposite, where you act nice, and then turn around and say "What you really thought I was your buddy? Get to work, NOW!" or something.

- If you still decide to include other forms of currency other than Credits, ie minerals, make an economy system allowing you to trade them in for other minerals or credits like you did in one of the DLC's that I will not mention.

- Make more combinations of powers.

A few ideas are as follows
Incinerate + Warp: Will cause enemy to explode with flames, or at least cause flames to shoot everywhere if they're on fire as you warp them.
Incinerate + Pull: Will cause fire to propegate in the direction of the pull.
Singularity + Incinerate: Will cause the singularity to dispense flames around it, enemies passing nearby will not only be held in zero-G briefly but will also catch fire.
Singularity + Cryo blast: Same as above, except enemies will freeze.

I'm more than certain you guys can concoct some more with whatever new powers you'll bring to the table.
- ANYTIME an enemy is blue (ie biotic energy has been absorbed), warp should explode them. This should include slam.

That's all I have for now. Hopefully my post isn't overlooked and lost in the 300+ pages that are sure to develop on this forum. Thank you Bioware for making such an INCREDIBLY REMAKABLE game!!!!

i agree with most of this

just reposting all of my suggestions together

larger text during conversations and in messages so people who dont have HDTV or large screens can actually read what is being said

mobile combat platform for EDI, a custom mech of some kind that EDI can transfer into and join as a squad member

batarian squad member

im okay with the current weapon and armor systems i was originally turned away slightly at the loss of the inventory system but i realized that the inventory system was flawed and doesnt really work for ME

tech ability: damping

why was damping taken out (if i have missed it and it really is there then i appologize XD )

also the system for specialized ammo was flawed in ME2 if you didnt bring the right team member on a mission then you lose out on that ammo type that makes no sense to me XD

I personally think it would be really cool to start the third game with the player experiencing Shepard's selected psychological profile choice, ie: the bloody raid on Torfan, being the lone survivor of the thresher attack and watching your squad of 50 be mauled to their grisly doom, or holding off the Skyllian Blitz; after said introduction Shepard could awake in a cold sweat. It would be a really neat throwback for all of the fans since the first game.

- An expanded set of powers and skills for each class. I'm thinking skill trees, maybe? This is part of a larger question, though. When we import for ME 3, will we retain our level? And if so, how will skills and powers be altered to justify climbing to level 60 (or whatever the new cap is)? Powers could progress in less of a linear fashion (you could level incinerate to do more damage, effect larger areas, more effectively penetrate armor, have longer "burn" duration, etc.). You could invest in that power to varying levels - you could go all in if you love incinerate, or just up its radius.

Did you keep you level from ME1 no they'll probably start you at level 4 or 5 like they did this time but no there not going to start you at the same level.

How about a traitor in the team, whose identity will be defined by the loyalty tests, mission and assignment  results or by the romance choices of the game.
More interaction with NPC characters,I mean they must have more dialog and use in the game after they are"used" in their  assignments, this would make the game more of an RPG than anything else.
Making your own medi-gel by using your own resources or have a medic trait that allows Sheppard or a squad member to do so.
And Saren 2.0
And less platforming please.

What I'm hoping for is that they'll add new investments from time to time, either as system patches/ updates become available, or as FREE content. Same for the dossiers. I'd like to see a progression to what the squad has been doing.

And hell to the yes on little blue babies. I support a happy ending for Shepard.

I would like cut scenes and dialogue to reflect the fact that Shepard can be a biotic. In ME1 and 2 it is assumed that (s)he is a soldier without any knowledge or experience of being biotics, which is a bit strange if (s)he is a lvl 30 Adept. Especially noticeable in interactions with other biotics in LotSB. "All" I ask is two kinds of only some cutscenes where you can see how really kickass a biotic she can be. She can be more powerful that even Jack, Liara, or Samara (rules-wise).

Bring back the Mako

While the use of the Mako wasn't utilized as well as it could have been in ME1, the vehicle itself is by far superior to the Hammerhead. It just fit Shepard and what he was doing, dropping down to a planet in some rugged heavily armored APC with jump thrusters. I mean the Mako was one of the first things that drew me in when i saw a ME1 commercial. It just fits. They could bring back planets somewhat like in ME1 but with an easier way of locating things as well as slightly less annoying terrain. The Hammerhead to me just feels like a POS little toy.... Sorry but with all the bugs in the first game the Mako was just by far better fitting in the story, and i thought it functioned better.

I couldn't agree more. I miss the mako (I played ME 1 on the PC so I had no problems with how it controlled). I was a mechanically elaborate and compelling vehicle. To me, the Hammerhead felt like a generic hovercraft with not much substance in its architecture, weaponry and handling. I found the missions involving the Hammerhead were linear and confined. Overall, the planets of ME 2 didn't have the same sense of vastness as in ME 1. Also the fact that you couldn't exit the Hammerhead made these missions feel detached from the overall gameplay. I liked driving to a settlement, exiting the mako to explore the settlement on foot and then proceeding to the next one. And with a more open environment, I had many ways of approaching my objective. Yes the environments were repetitive and exploring planets one after another became a tedious task, but it added a lot of scale to the game, which was lost a bit in ME2.

I would like to see ground missions involving vehicles in ME 3 (preferably the mako). I think having more open maps like in ME 1 is the right approach. The design of the missions and environments would just have to be more varied.

I would be happy if they made the DLC character a little more included in the main plot when they are downloaded. Kasumi and Zaeed seemed to be just thrown in because you couldn't talk with them aboard the ship or really anywhere else, they didn't seem to exist to after their main mission. For example, I liked it when they added Shale to Dragon Age, because the main quest included it as main character with opinions and personal investment to the mission your character on the other side character. It felt like Shale was always supposed to be there because of that. Now I can't imagine a Dragon Age without that character in the game.

another thing that would be good is if your squad had more that two or three powers and two weapons.

and if they have to have limited weapons, atleast give the squad useful ones. case in point being jack and jacob, the only time they were useful was on their specially designed loyalty missons. they both had only shotguns and pistols; and they were only had pull, incendiary ammo (jacob) or shockwave (jack). Completely useless in any fight beyond close range. Jack was esspecially a letdown because here she was to be a super-powered biotic and all she could do was send biotic shockwaves that didn't do anything except stagger enemies that were close to dead already.

that also reminded me of another thing: why is it that i need to almost kill the guys shooting at me with my guns before i can use my biotics to really hurt them. it was awesome in ME1 to be able lift some dude who was shooting at me and then throw him, sending him flying regardless of his health or shield strength. Not to mention how much fun it was to be able "clothsline" a charging krogan or geth destroyer. what i mean is how those to would charge and you could just tap throw and watch them hit the ground or in higher levels go flying in the other direction.
