First of all, I wish to thank Bioware for making one of the greatest Sci-fi/Adventure franchises ever made. Mass Effect has become of my top games, and that’s saying something considering I mostly play first person shooters like Halo and Call of Duty. I loved the first one so much that I played it about 12 times. Mass Effect 2 expanded on the story in the first one and through the player into a more lived and exotic galaxy. I’m on my 5th time through right now and I still love it. I love Afterlife on Omega, it has to be one of the best places ever created, when you go through the doors for the first time and see Asari dancers dancing with stripper poles….WOW.  Thank you Bioware!!!  Keep up the good work; I cannot wait for Mass Effect 3.

Here are some of my hopes for Mass Effect 3:

• Quarian/Geth War
• Quarian Homeworld
• Krogan Genophage cure
• Female Krogans
• Female Turians
• Female Salarians
• Asari Children
• Citadel Fleet vs. Reapers
• Maybe a Liara/Shepard love child

However, as much as I loved Mass Effect 2 I do have some complaints:

First,

Why can’t female Shepards get romantically involved with any female characters? That just sucks! I was a female Shepard and I could not get with Miranda, Jack, Samara,Tali, Kasumi, Morinth or Kelly. You get Kelly’s secret ending, but that doesn’t count as a “romance”. You could have at least allowed female Shepards to get with Kelly or Samara.

Second,

Where were the love scenes? You totally got rid of one of the best parts of Mass Effect 1. The love scenes with Liara or Ashley in Mass effect 1 were one of the biggest reasons for talking to them.  Instead of that, in Mass Effect 2 you give us (if you’re a female Shepard) Shepared taking a shower, which was sexy, but then you kill the mood when she walks out totally clothed again, Why? You could have least had Shepard wearing a towel. Then you kill the mood even more when you’re expecting a love scene, instead you’re given the options to cuddle on the couch or bed, Boo…Bioware! Come on gives us something!

Third,

Insanity mode is way too hard! I’m probably the only one who thinks this, but it is way way harder than in the original Mass Effect 1. I probably died 10 times just doing Mordin’s mission on Omega.  Please ratchet it down a bit for Mass Effect 3.

1) Legion LI (it could work for both sexes)!
2) If not Legion give us (male and female, I'm not biased) a Krogan LI! (Man what I wouldn't give to romance Grunt.)
3) Multiple endings that actually make you feel that the decisions you made in 1 & 2 were worthwhile.
4) Also a wedding/special part in ending for your romance (Hey just cause I didn't romance the same character in 1 doesn't mean I should be punished. What if I waited for Garrus or my LI appeared in 3?).

i want to see the samara/morinth choice explored. choosing morinth, to me, feels like it runs parallel to the indoctrination themes of the reapers. she's totally evil.

I hope they develop Shepard as a character further, I want some more background missions like in ME1.
1. Earth born
You might find out about your parents. (They don't need to be show or revealed.)

2. Spacer
You might find out more about your parents service, maybe one of them involved in a classified mission.

3. Colonist
You find a friend that survived the attack.

Also hope the game will be long!

I agree with this.^^^

I mostly want to see the return of (most) of the original companions. I know this probably isn't possible or going to happen as most of them seemed to move on, but I definitely want to see some kind of closure to our original love interests. In addition to this, hopefully if Thane is in ME3, we will be able to find a cure for his disease. It's kind of depressing to think he's going to die and there's nothing you can do about it.

I hope the game is a little longer as well. I beat Mass Effect 2 in half the time it took me to beat Mass Effect 1 even though I did all the loyalty quests, side quests and explored every planet and I was kind of disappointed in the game's length. Hopefully the length will be more on par with ME1. How is it that ME1 was so much longer yet ME2 warranted 2 discs worth of data.. the graphics improvements were nice and all, but worth a whole extra disc or what?

All around, more exploration. Mass Effect 2 felt like a Point A to Point B kind of game, with nothing really in between. You start out your mission and follow a set path and that's it. You get to the end and it's done, there's not really any extra rooms - no real reason to explore those few extra spots because whatever was inside, most of the time just some hacking for some credits (oh joy), wasn't really worth getting.

Hopefully some extra customization options. In ME2 we were given the exact same hair options despite the fact there were several NPCs with NPC only haircuts. Some of which I much preferred over my own hair.

@Anubis2004 - I mostly agree with your points, except for lowering the difficulty of the Insanity mode. In my opinion, insanity being the hardest difficulty, was not nearly hard enough. I had no trouble beating the game on insanity mode and it still seemed too easy. In all fairness, insanity should be harder, and for those who find it too difficult could just play on a lower difficulty setting.

Don't know what the special part would be, but don't force weddings to keep LI. IMO a wedding sounds corny as hell and I rather take a scene like in LOTSB instead of it although something more special could be in order

Well special part would be for instance with Garrus you could instead of being married you could go and live on his home planet or even find a spot in the galaxy 'just for them' or like for if their was a hypothetical Krogan romance you could spend the rest of your lives together out looking for adventure and you'd see a kiss and such. Wedding's would most likely depend on the romance option and how inclined they are to such. Ashley I could see as having a wedding but as I said it depends on the romance/character. I mean come on, are you really going to leave/abandon your LI after ME3? I for one would like some finalization on how my romance/LI and I spent the rest of our days.

I would tend to agree vis a vis NOT making insanity easier.  Hell, it needs to be MUCH harder.  After watching some youtube videos of some people doing demos of various "pure" classes going against Collectors in the suicide mission and they didn't even bust a sweat.  TOO F*KING EASY!  The hardcore level should be harder and the the insanity level should actually be a challenge even for these youtubers.  What's the point of playing at all if it is a virtual walk in the park?  Seems to have the same logic as people using cheats (why?  why cheat and why play at all if you insist on cheating?).

Insanity should be INSANE and hardcore should be ALMOST what insanity is now.

OK, I've had it!  You people are going to get your f*cking hair in line with military regs!  Shep is MILITARY god-freakin-damnit and you will DAMN WELL LOOK MILITARY!  No hippy hair, no dreds, no mousse hair, no spikes.  High and tight or shorn to stubble are the options.  There will be NO facial hair.  If the Cerberous scum want to look like street people that's their affair but by damn you WILL be a proper military Shep or you will get an Article 15 and you will be reduced in rank and possibly drummed out of the service dishonorably.   If you INSIST on being a chick shep you WILL keep it above your collar one way or another.  If its length is below collar length you WILL keep it tied up at all times you are on duty and in uniform.

Ratty scummy bastards!

I agree with everything figuare9 said that should be in the game, I want all that stuff in the game to. But soomethings that werent that I would like to see in the game is the speech upgrade in the game agian. The whole using paragon/renegade to unlock your special dialog options kinda sucks, In the last game no matter if I was a good or bad, It felt like I had more of a choice.

There are plenty of people, myself included, who were able to beat ME2 on isanity even before the Firepower pack or Kestrel armor. If it's too hard for you then you ought to play on a lower difficulty. Insanity is all I play on anymore, and I don't want it toned down, if anything I was wishishing for a harder difficulty because of the weapon and armor DLC. There's nothing wrong with your ability level not matching that of insanity, and it's unfair to ask for the more hardcore gamers to get a nerfed game so that you can have an achievement.

I'm sincearly trying to be polite, but it seems like an awfully selfish request on your part.

I wanna share my ideas on this thread

For One, I would like to see the ammo types brought back. I want my weapon to feel like its my weapon. The switch between fire ammo or warp ammo or etc was tedious at best, I loved having my own specialized ammo. I applaud the armor customization but wheres the love for the weapons? I want my weapon to look the way I wanted it. I want to love my weapon the way Zaeed Messani loved his.

I agree I want weapons and purchasing them to come back and I want variety in weaponry

In effect have some sort of nod to Saren I liked him and I know some fans who would want to know more maybe even have like an echo of him. Or briefly play as him like you guys did with Joker. But still I would love to see Legion as well become a more compelling character. I want to know his response to Shepard questioning why did he have a part of his armor..instead of him sort of freezing up as he did.

I wanna also see the Conflict with the Geth and the Quarians arise to a point that would seem opportune to cause confusion for the Reaper Conflict and what about the potential threat of terminus/citadel relations I mean I never got the vibe they hated each other from ME2 I assumed that.

And to the Ending of the game like Im definitely not gonna tell you how to end it but make it feel like this is the pivotal point. I wanna feel the final fight or....the last stand. I wanna fight to the end and I want to feel emotion. I wanna see doom that we wont make it or the hope that we could save the Galaxy. You guys could spin the ending in so many ways. Like do I go down in my ship as a Captain would or am I gonna go out in a hail of gunfire. Make it epic and on a massive scale and keep with the hard choices. Sacrefice is a beautiful thing whether its Shepard's, his friends, or even his love interest. But make it feel like we can help if some die, but If a character is gonna feel real they have to do something they would do without the characters consent whether noble or not.

Let us fall in love with the ending and the characters. I hope you take a thoughtful approach to each character cuz I love each one and obviously if you do make new ones make them pretty cool too.

I would like to see some dialog added for NPC's when things come up that they should have an opinion about. (ie: several instances where Miranda should interact with Liara, Legion on a particular DLC, etc, etc.)

I know they have quite the undertaking to incorporate all the decision from the last 2 games. I say stick with the decisions from game 2. I would like to see the Citadel opened up more. You had such a vibrant area and closed so much of it off in ME2.

If you went with a new love interest in ME2, perhaps that sets up a battle for Shepards affection in ME3.

Anderson has a throw down with the Illusive Man, after he beats hell out of Udina.

First of all, ME2 is a great game, but I can't but feel that it has gone a little backwards in some ways, here are my suggestions:

*More engaging story- don't get me wrong, the character stories are all great, really deep, and help build up the universe that little bit more, but altough nearly all the stories were tied to the main plotline, it was thematical and subtle rather than finding actual plotlines that moved the story along. Like I can see how Mordin's mission forshadows the final choice but it didn't actually add to the main storyline in any other way. As a result the missions seemed quite disjointed and loose. Lost opportunities include the council's almost non evolvement, where things like finding a Reaper could have directly involved them, as well Legion appearing randomly rather than being forshadowed throughout the game, I mean, he has been stalking you.

ME3 should have a much more epic story, like ME1, where party members have alot more to say in each mission (aswell as DAO like banter). The character missions however were very well handled so maybe they could be involved, but double up as recruiting missions, e.g. we would go to our batarian squadmember's homeworld to broker peace between the batairans and humans and request their help aginst the Reapers, etc.- therefore directly beniftting the main story line whilst tieing off loose threads. The recruitment missions could go, and instead be tied into the main missions. Sure they were fun but the "Loyalty" missions could just be deeper instead (Think Kasumi size rather tha Jack size).

Picking up loose threads- ME2 did bring back quite a bit from ME1, but did skip over alot aswell. What ever happened to the Lystheni Salarian offshoots (mentioned in the novels), the tension between the humans and batarians (brushed over in Omega missions), the entire hanar species (having no lines whatsoever in ME2, but albiet they got quite a bit of exposition and Blasto), and how are the Reapers actually going to arrive into the galaxy with no mass effect relays? ME2 did a good job with what it did cover, but I hope ME3 addresses these issues. The emails were a good sytem but it was frustrating that characters would request to meet you and you never could- hopefully we'll be able to get that interview with emily wong, etc. and being able to interview back would be nice. I think my biggest fear is that ME2 left alot for ME3 to cover, the issues between the quarians/ geth and the humans/ batarians, whatever happened to those Protheans, what are the keepers, will the genophage get restored, etc. but then brought new issues to the table like who killed that Reaper, the illness of the drell, the state of all your squadmates who can all be dead, etc. and then there's the raloi, the yahg, the "ghost" race, and all the other implied countless races wondering around the galaxy,I just hope ME3 can tie up all these loose ends, if they're not resolved in ME3.

Misc issues- The female variations of species, expecially turians badly need to be included in the next game, possibly as squad mates so that there can be more females in the squad. The Turians themselves could use some more exploration, I mean Tali was practically a walking codex but we still don't know too much about the turians apart from the gem of the conversation (what, like one of three conversations you can actually have with Garrus) about the turian military. The hanar, volus, batarian and elcor could use alot of depth. Please can we have a hanar, volus and elcor crew mates, that would be impossibly awesome, with the added bonus that we finally have alien crew (with side missions like in ME2). A batarian squadmate is also crucial, since we still haven't had one yet, and he/ she could provide alot of depth to the race.

Hopefully ME3 includes around two new races, aswell as the Protheans (maybe). Including the Raloi and the Lystheni (or however it's spelt) Salarians would be great aswell, and would help expand the universe.

Planets- The homeworlds, e.g. Palaven, Sur'Kesh, Thessia, Kahje, the batarian homeworld, and the worlds (maybe colony worlds) of the volus and elcor (come on, seeing elcor with turrets mounted on their backs would be plain awesome, they NEED to be implimented into ME3), and of course Earth, Rannoch and the Prothean (Reaper?!) homeworld. I hope the citadel comes back (this time with the Presidium included) and Omega (with more levels) aswell as the cerebus/ alliance main ship/ station (complete with Vorcha living in the bowls of the ship and shops in the hub section).

Also- More conversations with party members, no more calibrations.... no more than two humans this time please, speaking of which, having a female turian/ salarian/ krogan/ batarian would be awesome, along with a male quarian.

Ok that's about it. :)

I think you should be able to decide whether or not you want to carry a heavy weapon at the penalty of carrying extra ammo for your other weapons, also I hope sheperd holds weapons more like a person and less like a robot.             In addition, I wish they would bring back the way you use to upgrade your weapons and the old shop system.:wizard:

Maybe this gets more attention here:

I'd also like a ME1 style ending in which Shepard actually goes near death and in this Overlord-style fantasy world s/he encounters the people who died during the games. You fight and conversate your way though the experience and in the end you're given a choice: die and stay in the world of the dead (maybe your LI, best friend or parents are there) or return to the world of the living

I really liked the feeling of uncertainty ME1 ending had, but it was over a bit too soon (although I don't think Bioware should have prolonged that one). That's why they could try a new one. You shouldn't get this experience everytime your mission ends with you dead though, only when survival is a possibility

Don't really have any bones to pick with your post except just one observation...more females on the squad?  Huh?  How about no males at all?  You have Tali, Miranda, Samara, Jack, Kasumi.  Basically half your squad is female but that's not enough?  In ME3 you are likely looking at Liara again and, maybe, Ash (though these would likely replace one or more ME2 characters that go their own way come to ME3).

I understand the curiosity about seeing more of the alien females but temper it with this:  Krogan females will look like Krogan males in gross features.  Tough and ugly.  Turian females will look like Turian males, though perhaps smaller in stature.  Salarian females will look like Salarian males.  The main diff will be voices.  NONE of them will be a "babe" that a real human would want to bed, by the way.  Hanar are irrelevant in this regard (if they even have sexes...jellyfish themselves are sexless.  Batarians?  Ugly 6-eyed females much like the ugly 6-eyed males.

Side note:  all female love interest potentials (thank god) have hot female characteristics:  nice butts, nice breasts, shapely, pleasing face (with Tali's left to the imagination but she has the rest of it down).  NONE of them have insectoid features (Turian) or reptilian/turtle features (Krogan).  If the LI doesn't look nice unclothed (or if you wouldn't really want to have her unclothed if she were real) isn't valid or desireable.

From ME2, given the nature of the "bad" Geth vs Legion's revelations, it would appear that any conflict between the Quarians and the Geth, post-corrective-computer-virus ala Legion's loyalty mission, is entirely due to Quarian intransigence.  The Geth, as per Legion, are not automatically opposed to anyone and have no need/desire for conflict.  That itself tells you that peace between them and the Quarians is simply a matter of the Quarians getting off their automatic anti-AI kick and accept that the Geth will not be their slaves and can be left to do their own thing like any other alien race in peace.  Sure, it would be an interesting issue to resolve in ME3 or DLC, but it would be entirely depend on bringing the Quarians on board.

I don’t know if someone said this but I miss the grenades from ME1. You could add mods to them to get different effects and they stuck to anything even enamels. I know there are grenades in Me2 but not like Me1. It would also be nice if enamels reacted to the grenades too, if for example a grenade gets stuck to them instead of just keep shooting panic, run around, or try and get it off before it explodes. I always enjoyed sticking a grenade to a person and then detonating it on command.

They nixed Grenades because they were superflous and unnecessary. After all what's the point of throwing grenades when you have a black hole launcher strapped to your back?

I think we need to look around at Rannoch and bring back grenades that can either be used to throw to attatch to walls or be used as ammunition for heavy weapons. I would also love for a wedding scene to be shown as well as a specific ending depending on what choices you made and watch all the consequences of them unfold and also based on which LI you chose (if you did).

More parts for armor customisation and an inventory on the go, also, random conversations with squadmates on the go, ala ME1 and more interrupts...
