Anyway, after re-playing ol' ME I thought, man I wish they had that grit in ME2. ME2 felt wooden and empty at times. The emptiness in ME felt creepy.
ME3 would smoke everything if:
- we had helmet toggle
- more squadmate banter and reactivity to decisions *during* whatever is going on
- Squadmate armor and customization, but keep them having casual outfits while on the ship
- A mix of FedEx planet missions and random exploration - Hammerhead sucks. Scanning is worse! So booooring! As a guy who can play 2 hours a day, there were times I spent scanning for minerals? COME ON!
- Better romances with more pay off. DLC filling in for a feeling of incompleteness seems to be the way BW's going this year and I don't like it one dang bit!
- In terms of reactivity, Alpha Protocol smoked Bioware this year IMHO. I'm not saying do that exactly, but it's time to step up the game!
It's a beautiful looking game and pretty smart to boot overall (minus that end boss in ME2!) COME ON!!!!

For mass effect 3 I would most like to see:
-Re-open planet side gameplay (and lots of it). One of the coolest parts of mass effect one was the side-quest ability to roam around various distant planets and have the option of scaling mountains to snipe targets, assaulting strongholds on foot or smashing through with the Mako. The visuals and
-Re-tool the skill system.
-More options for upgrading armour, and the same ability for weapons. I also like KBGellers idea of only being able to modify the items back at the ship, adds to the realism and challenge of the levels.
-And get rid of both planet scanning (boring) and the need to run around scavenging dropped ammo/items from enemies off the ground.

I've only been playing ME2 for a few days and will persevere with it but I am astounded that Bioware could 'ruin' a winning formula as I feel they have. I thought working for Cerberus would be my biggest annoyance but boy was I wrong.
Player movement seems clunky, the cover mechanic is less intuitive and dynamic. Squad mates are suddenly suicidal and require constant micro-management. I think the Geth must have seriously miscalculated in regard to ammo/heatsink ejection. =P
Please just go back towards how things were in ME1, only without an IFV that handles like cheap remote control car.

Hello Bioware!
Just wondering if you could fix some of the colour on a FemShep haircut.
The cut looked amazing for all hair colours in ME1. In ME2, it only really suited dark-haired FemSheps. On blondes it looks greasy. And ropey. Maybe just lighten some of the dark colour?

I'm with Brodyaha on this one. That cut - among a few others - is horrible in ME2.

- Hammerhead combat is too boring at the moment
- It's too fragile as well
- The thing needs a shield level overview
- Also, players can't save while inside it
So please present us an updated M-44 for ME3... or throw in a different vehicle

1. The ability to choose who you work for. The Alliance, the Council, or Cerberus.
2. Paragon/Renegade squad members (As in if you're paragon you get one but if you're renegade you get another. Neutral there's a third option. What classifies neutral? Under the halfway mark for both ren/para.)
3. Gender specific squadmates (A love interest that is only available to one shepard if he's a guy, another if she's a girl.)
4. Squad alignment (Like in Kotor and Kotor 2) I know there was that Garrus mission in ME1, that didn't really get too deep though. I want ALL my squad to change depending on how I talk to them and how we do missions.
5. The ability to train atleast 1 squad member to become a spectre. 2 are better then one, and it'd be like changing some Kotor squadmates into Jedi. Other options would be available, like commando's and the evolutions to player classes for all squad mates.
These would really put me in over my head, in a good way, for ME3.

Quoted for validity. I know Shepard isn't known for his or her subtlety, but stealth should count for something. I cannot expect a full Metal Gear Solid overhaul of game mechanics, but I can hope that taking headshots from a dark corner without having been spotted will basically count as firing while under an assassination cloak.General Ashous wrote...
I had been hoping to be able to dual wield pistols in ME2 but it never happened. I'm hoping it's done in ME3 though I find it highly unlikely. Damn it. Still, I like using one weapon but, I know this has been mentioned over and over, I'd like to be able to customise it and make mods and improvements. Also, I'd love to see some stealth missions, that could be fun. Taking out a target with a single pistol headshot, Francisco Scaramanga style.

More dialogue?
Possible LI?
There's quite a few reasons to make him an LI, and also to keep him in ME3. I posted this long ago in the Joker thread, but here's some reasons:
Regardless of whether a person wants to romance Joker or not, there's a few advantages with making him an option in ME3 for Bioware developers and veterans.
1) It is likely he will be in ME3, even if Shepard dies. (And Casey Hudson stated in several interviews that Shepard can die, so I hardly think that's a spoiler).
2) You (BioWare) don't need to worry about making a new character--just new friendship/romance dialogue and a couple of cutscenes, which is much easier than making a new squad-mate. Win-win: Joker gets more depth to his character, Bioware doesn't need to worry about making a new attractive romance option, or of creating new squadmates for ME3.
2) He has a fan base; you doesn't need to worry if veteran gamers will like Joker. Newcomers don't know anything about him, but will probably like him. It's hard to dislike Joker.
3) There's been some backlash over introducing so many new characters in ME2, while leaving ones from ME1 out of the picture; some fans don't like how ME2 is so 'available' for newcomers. Newcomers to the ME universe won't care about Joker's previous envolvement in ME1 & 2--he will still be a novelty to them. Veterans will appreciate keeping him on the team-- Joker is a character they know and like, and fans will be happy he wasn't sidelined.
4) You (BioWare) makes great stories, and weaving Joker in as a romance would make a great addition to that story. Considering all the events both he and Shepard have dealt with, affection could conceivably develop and it would be a believable romance development.
HIs character was further developed in ME2! Bioware should continue developing his depth.

And I like the idea of stealth missions I loved MGS the stealth the different alternative routes you could take all through out the complexes even hiding was great add but yeah I agree BW won't go that far but if not a Shep stealth mission maybe incorporate a Thane or kasumi mission where you play as them to stealth into an area.
People have mentioned sending squad mates to jobs for you like you need to be in Palvin but then Feros colony calls and say hey we'd like to meet with you too! So send a squad to Feros while you go to the more important Palvin. If the mission you send your squad to is a pivotal mission you didn't see coming then they'll switch and let you play as the lead character (whoever you said would be leader of away group) and you do the mission and surprise happens now shep has to leave Palvin and go to rescue team on Feros...something like that.
Yes more hair styles part of why I really get into playing Fable 1 & 2 is the many many outfits you can buy and combine and the many hair styles from Mohawks to dreads I admit in that series the more fantastic styles are represented better but its a fun start I think more hair styles ( not mohawks of course) should be introduced maybe long styles that are pulled back when in combat gear and worn long when in casual wear and maybe a color wheel where we can physically see the tweaking in progress so if we want pure bright red we can have it but if we want say a grey purple (why you'd pick this who knows) we could or go white same with eyes they try for purples and bright green why can't we teak them to be any color? Maybe even given the option to make them glow like TIM's?
As far as LI I want my relationships w/ Tali and Garrus in 3 to stay be more in depth and meaningful this line of thought should go into all ME2 LI's sense people bothered to either switch lovers due to scorning or never romanced in one and finally choose someone in 2 these should all be well written and thought out by the BW staff devote script writers to these scenes so the fans really can feel like their LI is such rather then a convenient stress tool only.
Also still voting on the have more squad mates to choose from then can be on the boat for picks we all know and love it'd be: Kasumi, Tali, Garrus, Zeed, Grunt, Legion, Ashely/Kaiden, Jack,Jacob,Miranda,Mordin,Mordith (if chosen by player in 2), New 3 chara, New 3 chara, New 3 chara so thats ( 15 so far could go for 20 choosable characters) but the ship only holds according to 2 only 10 people more or less can be on ship so with the aid of dossiers and the SB we can use all available info to figure out who we want on our team and go get them but we can only choose 10 of the possible 20 characters available in the game this adds for huge re playability and combos curtain combos will give more issues so If I pair chara A with a clashing view point or moral dilemma then chara A and B fight it out similarly like 2 did and I need to resolve the issue or issues some may clash more then once and even shep may not beable to stop them from killing one another!
I excluded several characters from my above list for these reasons Thane is dying and by 3 should've progressed enough that he will not be able to serve he would be an npc most likely on Kahji who players LI or not can visit for x amount before he dies or the visit limit is not reached by a curtain point in the game he dies anyway. Samara w/ her own omission sounds like she will come back anyway as an npc sense I never recruited her daughter I can only assume based off her original personality that she does not share her mothers will come back and help you moment if she does she too would then be excluded from my top list and relegated here to npc mode, Wrex if lived is helping you on Tuchanka he is really busy getting a Krogan war front going on for you so natually npc, Same goes for Liara sense her new job change she too has a new and important capacity she is helping the war front on information is power after all and that makes her npc #1 with visitation rights!,
Of course those who load up 2 into 3 if you killed people from the SM ground teams then they will not appear in anyway in 3 other then through maybe info, angry family members, and other types of avenues they will be acknowledged only and so more new 3 squad members will fill in this loss so player still will retain 20 pickable people even if in two you killed 7 players.
Vote for the Mako

The hair...the hair is a concern. Please Bioware...PLEASE give us
some cool hairstyles. I like the shoulder-length look as much as the
next girl, but please give us more variety. But thanks so much for the
fashionable armor. [smilie]../../../../images/forum/emoticons/w00t.png[/smilie] And the codes for the face...a godsend.
But the main priority for me is this: I think it's time for Shepard to get her(his) due. All the team members come to Shepard, saying: "HEELLLLPPPPP MMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE with personal CRAP that lets you know more about me, but I don't know CRAP about you." I think Shepard deserves more background detail, and make her more human; if she's a paragon, then she most definitely is the "mom" of the ship, going around and making sure everyone stays sane. I realize that she is a military woman, but she can't be that confident, and that strong all the time. All of us, even the toughest guy out there, has cried at one point, and has a story to tell and the emotions that run with it. We have moments of vulnerability, and I think we need to see this in Shepard. I know with my Shepard, she feels guilty about Akuze and blames herself for the loss of her entire crew - which is why she goes out of her way to help everyone; yet, her Earth background has given her some grit, but she tries (and fails) to ignore it - she can't deny her like for a certain "flare." But with everything weighing down on her shoulders, Shepard often feels like no one will take care of her when it is all through. I would like to see more emotion, interaction and detail, please!
So long, and thanks for all the fish!

I want a holographic combat simulator that has customisable options; I want to be able to choose how heavily my team is outnumbered, how much cover there is, how aggressive the enemies are, what type of adversaries they are [i.e. will I be facing shields or barriers? Collector particle beams or krogan charges?] and I want to be able to set time limits. The biggest problem with ME2 for me was that, once the missions and assignments were done, all that I had left was mining - which I did across the entire galaxy - give me a combat simulator that I can use at any time and I will be happy for months after I have completed the main missions and assignments. A survival mode with a customisable number of waves, ranging from 3 to an infinite number of waves, would be good too.
I would also like to see specific off-duty activities that may be undertaken at the suggestion of specific squad mates, that may even form minigames if possible. I want to be able to challenge Grunt to an arm wrestle, Garrus to a test of marksmanship; I want lessons in hacking and electronic architecture from Legion or Tali; and I want to play "biotic minecraft" with Samara - at the end, Jack could storm in and ruin it for the lulz.
Okay, forget that last option. Biotic minecraft won't be implemented. ):

Oh my f***ing god, MOVIE NIGHT. That would be a brilliant addition to the game. Just think of the dialogue! We could all be watching some staple for science fiction movie nights, like a Sherlock Holmes mystery or a hitchcock film, and you could be watching it and chatting with squad mates. Legion would be all: "what new data are obtained from watching fabricated occurrences?" and then Tali would be like: "it's an organic thing, I don't expect you to understand." Then Shepard could be talking to Garrus about the mystery of the film, and he'd say something absurd but perceptive, like: "I think the butler did it, and I'm not sure how he is going to get out of that room if the detective finds him in the next few minutes, as he has no cover and is highly vulnerable to a marksman placed on the opposite building's roof," to which Jack could respond: "damnit Garrus, would you guys shut up? I'm trying to watch the movie." Grunt could be sat at the front, mesmerised by the moving images and culture.FuturePasTimeCE wrote...

Furthermore:
As it currently stands, I have to keep my invented backstories and psychological profiles of my Shepards in my head. For instance, my infiltrator, a cynical and efficient killer [Earthborn, Torfan background] decided that the Council should be saved. When Shepard realises that the Council haven't changed in spite of the human lives sacrificed and the direct Reaper attack, Shep turns to alcohol whenever the guilt and the bitterness builds up. Deliberately sadistic actions are performed.
Evidence of mental instability present in choices and excessive consumption of alcohol, as well as desire to alienate all crew members, expecting only their loyalty to the mission. Shepard thrived while operating on Cerberus's behalf, always choosing to kill if it would be quicker - and often just killing anyway. Even at the Collector station, Shepard knew that the technology had to be salvaged, because Cerberus is the only organisation that isn't going to let politics impede its preparation for the inevitable Reaper attack; but this choice only causes more self-loathing, Shepard hating the fact that only Cerberus's methods will have defences ready in time.
Conversely, my adept is an Earthborn war hero, a human of tremendous power and vision. After saving the Council, Shepard is loathed to be indebted to Cerberus and doesn't let it affect judgement, questioning the Illusive Man's methods at every turn. As ruthless as my infiltrator, however, this Shepard knows how places like Omega work and knows what it is to be a Spectre. Whilst Shepard goes the distance to raise the standards for all Spectres, they still carry a certain intimidating presence that reveals itself in swift, callous solutions to petty problems.
To this Shepard, the mission always comes first. Successfully negotiating whenever possible, Shepard goes from mission to mission, planet to planet, securing assistance through coolly charming rhetoric and leadership, paving the way for easier integration of multiple alien species into a defence task force for the future. Shepard concurred with the geth philosophy of building our own destiny - the single strategy that has worked against the Reapers so far [the Prothean intervention, for instance] - and destroys the Collector base, relishing in the opportunity to cripple the Illusive Man's sinister, self-serving and xenophobic plans. Humanity must not lose that which defines it as human.
[So basically a Borg drone with a sadistic individuality versus a captain Kirk/Archer hybrid, if you want a brief summary and know your Star Trek.]
And yet the psychology of Shepard goes completely unnoticed by her squad mates, who stand by while I drink my way through an entire bar, execute Batarians and look increasingly messed up; or will not even try to come up with plans to escape Cerberus' clutches, recognising Shepard's honourable and non-xenophobic attitudes. Basically, squad mates forming opinions of Shepard would be cool.
...
What? You don't build stories up in your head? Sure you do.

I think Dr. Chakwas' hair is pretty on Shepard. The short curly hair is also nice looking, but I generally don't like using it. Other than that, very icky. The ponytail is always ratty and most of the style that's pulled up have hairlines that start way above the ears. I think a lot of the problem is not having a lot of loose hair in the front. Just flat forehead never looks good.

I WANT THIS SO BADLY. I mean, I've been wanting for this option for some time ever since I heard about ME2's interrupt system. Even if it's just Shep glowing with the biotic aura, I would be happy.
Warping/Lifting/Throwing/Singularities in specific cutscenes would totally make my day.
