A Crew that interacts with one another instead of just random conversation, for example i don't expect to find my crew in the same places all the time like they have to use the bathroom some times and to go with this there should be conversations that only happen in certain areas of the ship. So you don't lose your crew you could ask Kelly where individual members are. have disputes/ arguments excetera.

since mass effect 3 is going to be the end of the trilogy i believe that you should have a more loose story-line that goes the way that the player wants it to. give lots of options and let the players decide what to do with them all for example i thought of having all the crew members from the first two as well as new characters should be available for your crew however only allow the ten spots so that you choose exactly who you want and who to leave on their own and maybe see from time to time. or even letting the player decide what missions to go after and having to deal with consequences of choices, decide to be rouge or to help council ect. in this way the end is what you make it (just do alot with the progress collected from importing the first two!)

I want a re-play at the end of the game: after i finish playing i want to watch the game in a movie mode , just like a race car game at the end of it. so i can see all that i did, in a third person mode. this goes to not only "me3", but also for "me2".

Dunno if someone brought this up but.

MUST - ABSOLUTELY - have hotkeys for switching weapons - on PC at least. I hate hate hate pausing to choose a weapon in ME2.

I would like to see the following in ME3.

1.) XP to be given per kill or object rather than as a mission whole.

2.) Levelling up to be done over 60 levels rather than the 30 we have in ME2.

3.) I wasn't a fan of the 'level complete' screen in ME2, so I'd like to see it done away with in ME3. It broke a bit of the immersion for me. Similar with the loading screens. I did prefer the elevators in ME1 :)

4.) A wider variety of skills, and those skills being more exclusive to certain classes. The more that can be done to make the six classes as different as possible from each other, the better.

5.) I liked the armour system in ME2, so i'd like to see that expanded upon with the squadmates. Maybe make each armour part have more impact on things such as shields etc. The idea in ME2 was good, but it didn't go far enough in my opinion. If it can really be expanded upon, making each armour part very different from another in terms of what it does, expand it to the squadmates - on to a winner. It would mean having an inventory of lots of various equipment and armour pieces with differing pros and cons. This could also be extended to the weaponry. Being able to upgrade or alter the characteristics of each gun. Again, I liked how each gun in ME2 felt different from eachother - but it just didn't go far enough. The more customisation and variation the better.

6.) More 'organic' worlds. I enjoyed the settings of ME2, but many of them were inside or in an urban setting. Be good to see a bit more of the universe in ME3.

7.) Squadmates interacting more with eachother. I liked how in Kotor, some of the squad members would have discussions at certain points of the game. You guys at Bioware have created some great characters in the Mass Effect story - lets hear a bit more from them and see them interact with each other, not just with Shepard. Seeing them moving about the Normandy would be really cool too.

8.) Make the side missions as varied as possible. Maybe a few worlds like in ME1 to drive about on too, but with more to do on them. I'd rather see 5 fantastic worlds with lots to look for and do, rather than 20 barren planets that have virtually nothing on them. If you guys at Bioware do stick with the Hammerhead though, it really does need some shields!! :)

9.) Most importantly, I want to see as much story and character development as possible. It really is Mass Effects strongest element, the thing that makes it stand out in this generation of shooters. ME2 I loved, but the balance is perhaps too heavily skewed towards the shooting and action aspect. Any game can mimic Call of Duty or Gears of War - not any game can mimic the likes of Mass Effect. For ME3, I just want to see Bioware play to ME's strengths - Story and Characters.

Nope, I agree, elevator conversations and music please. Cerberus computer loading screens were not preferable. And there was something amusing about rushing through a horde of geth and then standing calmly in the elevator to get to the next fight.

Haha!!  Yeah, I guess they were a bit of an aquired taste :)  All I mean though is that if we're going to be waiting for areas to load up, i'd rather it be something where the squadmates talk amongst themelves, like how they did in the first ME.  We have to wait for loading to happen either way.  The elevators weren't great at times, but they did at least do a bit to disguise the loading.  And some of the coversations between the squadmates on the elevators were pretty funny.

Exactly. The first game was far more fluid than the second because the loading was all but seamlessly integrated into the environment. It didn't seem like you were being interrupted and it was closer to being in real-time.

But it probably won't happen, as EA would be unable to include their useless tips in the loading screens, forcing people who cannot intuit to read the game manual.

I'd agree with a mix of both the elevators and the loading screens, get a happy medium. Also, the crew converstations need to be more and more frequent and scattered all over the ship.

I think an interesting story/plot for the Reapers in ME3 would be when the death of Nazara (Sovereign) occured, a massive schism in ideals occured among the Reapers, spawning many different groups with various ideas on  what to do with organic life ranging from saving them for study or entertainment, to complete irradication of organic civilization.

this would allow shepard to have a reaper on his team and have access to cool Reaper technology.  It would also provide a more realistic solution to the survival of all galactic civilization than shepard charging in with whatever little team or fleet he/she might have and go destroy the reapers.  It would take every member of every sapient species in the galaxy to band together and fight in order to survive.

What I really want, it may not fit in with the story line.. But...

I really hope they let EDI out of her chains, so she can control more of the ship, I would also love (And I mean LOVE) to see Legion hooked upto the ship, so he can datamine faster and harder, and be so useful the Normandy would be unstoppable!

Oh Hell. Where to start. Posted Image

First of, I'd like to think that Bioware would take into consideration adding the more popluar ideas that people are posting into ME3 - the ones that are being repeated, because us gamers know what we are talking about, and we know what we would like to have in the final game. Anyway on with the list...

I agree with having the squadmates interact with each other; have them doing different tasks, rather than staying in the same place in the same position and saying the same thing until I go off and do another few missions. I'd like to see them talk with each other, discuss missions, romances, news...just give them a little freedom.

I'd like to see possible mini-games to play - chess, cards, darts on the ship (hell knows if any of those even exist in the game, but you understand what I mean.) But just for more interaction with the crew. They are my crew, there are many members, and I don't think I talk to even half of them in the whole time I'm on my ship.

I'm happy enough with my characters customization - maybe add in a few more hair styles, and more clothing  - I can't say I was too fond of that orange get-up Shephard had going on... And could my crew get more clothing.

Exploration of LI Posted Image I'd like to see more interaction between LI and Shephard - they have gone through a lot together yet its like they barely speak to each other. It would be nice to have the LI seek my Shephard out and have them do something social (when they aren't fighting evil that is). More scenes with them, more expression of feelings, nothing unbelieveably sappy, but I'd like to find out how important I am to my LI, and be able to show my Shephards soft side with my LI. Maybe discuss their future, or having to fight for my LI if he/she withdraws from me - a kind of reassurance moment. Also have the LI be more involved on missions, I noticed a few times my Shephard got hit on by a few women, and Miranda just stood there and said nothing - it would be really cool if the LI got jealous or protective when someone makes a pass at Shephard.

I'd like to see Shephard and the whole crew (don't randomly vanish any of my squad - I spent the whole damn game recruiting them all and making them all loyal) visit earth. This could also tie in with exploring Shephards family - if his/her background is linked to earth, if not, explore Shephards background whereever he is from. We don't truly explore Shephard, and we have been playing as him/her for 2, yet we can't say we know too much about his past or anything.

Can we have missions where it isn't all about shooting people or collecting materials - don't get me wrong, I love killing bad guys as much as the next Shephard and when I face the Reapers, I shall not hold back - but it would be nice to be at peace throughout the game at points and enjoy some laid back missions/personal errands/relaxing moments.

Hearing the news though that ME3 will have more humour is pleasing :D ME and ME2 have been quite heavy and so although ME3 is basically the conclusion (I hope not), its going to be more enjoyable to have light, funny moments in the game.Posted Image

Anyway there's too much else I want, but these are the main points I'd like to see considered/included in ME3...Posted Image

I know its a long shot, but if Bioware even takes just a few ideas from us...ME3 will be EPIC! Posted ImagePosted Image

I haven't posted in ths thread for a while so here are my latest thoughts:

1. Tali's or atleast some sort of Quarians face! Whether you like Quarians or not, surely you must be interested in how their faces look?

2. Endings based on choices from previous two games and the third. This will be the case anyway i'd have thought, but it still needs to be mentioned. On a similar note I want to see plenty of different endings ranging from Super Good to Ultra Bad. Super Good would be Shepard saving the universe along with all his squad, topped off with marrying his LI. Ultra Bad would obviously be the Reapers winning the war and completing their mission.

3. I want the player to be forced to make choices that will result in a character/characters dying. While I did like the fact I saved my entire squad in ME2's Suicide Mission, it did seem a bit silly that they should all survive an mission designated "Suicide". It doesn't have to be everyone dying, but something like choosing between your best mate(most used squadmate) and your LI. One lives one dies.

4. Epicly huge cinematic space battle. Atleast 30 minutes of watching Human, Turian, Asari and Geth ships fighting the Reapers. I just want something I can sit back and watch with awe. In addition to this i'd like to see some form of Space Combat. I don't want it to be an integral part of the game, just something you get to do for a part of the game.

5. Better romance scenes. I thought the ME2 scenes with your LI were pretty crap to be honest. Bioware definitely copped out because of the Fox report. I'm not saying I want full nudity (wouldn't complain mind lol) because I know that'd raise the age rating, but just something along the lines of Mass Effect. That was very 'arty' and well done. More of that in ME3 please Bioware.

6. I enjoyed the combat system of ME2 and the new weapons/armour system. I'd keep the combat system as is. As for the weapons and armour, I was glad to see the game move from the painfully awkward system of upgrades. The only problem I had with the weapons was the fact there was nothing to tell you about RoF, Damage etc. I'd just like to see more weapons and more armour options.

7. Do away with ammo powers and replace them with proper abilities. While they made things easier at certain parts, i'd have liked to see more Biotic powers etc.

8. Visit the homeworlds of all the Citadel races. I mean seriously, we need to go to Earth lol. I'd personally say avoid any of the worlds major countries like US, UK, China, Japan, Russia etc. I think Brussels in Belgium would be the best seeing as it is the current home of the UN.

9. Final point, i'd like to see specialisations in classes developed further. So for example if your Tech you can either go the route of having superior hacking skills and similar powers, or go the direction of some sort of pet class where you use Mechs.

A few aforementioned ideas I read and liked. I like the idea of Oblivion style NPCs. Moving around, having agendas. Could be really annoying if your merchants are gone sleeping (yeah you can buy from the cpu, but how do you negotiate the discount?). So maybe just on the ship? And they can have convenient trackers? Seeing Earth could be cool.

From ME1, I did like the exploration of planets. Finding resources, fighting in a vehicle was refreshing. What was tedious was climbing up big mountains... so time consuming/frustrating at times.
This would be fixed with a hovering vehicle with some forward boost capability. Problem solved in ME2. Just give a variety of weapons for ME3. You get the resource finding broken up with some short combat and a break from being on foot all the time.

ME1 had a lot more customization. I really prefer lots of little levelling up, and incrementing in smaller steps. Near the end of ME2, you are doing almost 10 missions and not increasing skills at all (you earn points but need 3-4 to actually become better). Just not as much fun. You do all this work, it's nice to have the reward of a better character.

How about some tactical mass combat? In ME1, the codex had great detail of a vision of how ship-to-ship combat would work. Ranges, tactics, fighters, frigates and dreadnoughts! Would be so cool to have some of that. Or for Shepherd to be a general and actually organize and command units in a mass combat battle!

What about controlling some characters that are not Shepherd? Sure s/he should be the main focus, but in the final ME2 mission, what if you got to choose to be a character from all the times Shepherd wasn't around? Or what if there is a little mission where Shepherd is kidnapped and you have to rescue her/him? (and maybe the tough conditions made his abilities go back to zero, justifying the return to level 1 that will likely be required?) It would just add some more fun variety to the combat and allow a new connection to the characters we have grown to love!

I also want a chance to correct any mistakes. Sometimes you had to make a decision in giving advice to a race without knowing the full context. You didn't get to go back in ME2 and change your opinion in light of new knowledge.  And if I get screwed over by some powerful person, I want to get him/her! Maybe even replace... Posted Image

Need more alien monsters. I see the varren too often, on too many planets... yeah there are rational reasons for them their, taken by Krogans to new worlds, but I want to see more variety!

Lastly, I really would like the series to become a quadrology! Me2 didn't really accomplish a whole lot. Just dealt with some Reaper lackeys... can managing intergalactic politics to fight the Reavers be done in one game? It would be fun to have to do some missions for governments to convince them of the threat. And the order you convince them affects their preparedness (though after several convinced, the rest would follow). That could be a whole other game. It would be great if the series was dragged out!

Oh yeah, and no systems with no point to it. All that flying and fuel to go somewhere that only had resources I could get 100 other places... just disappointing... in ME1 there was at least 1 side/main adventure in every system.

Yeah speaking of the galaxy map that IS annoying after a point most of the important places get covered up and you either can't see the locations name or you can't find the universe to select and go there that definitely needs fixed.

also Joker get piloting the Normandy back I don't want to drunk pilot my ship.

No more fuel depots they suck too unless I can get off on the depot and explore and do things while my ship is refueling then maybe.

Ship is also docked until I say so via galaxy map

For the moveable characters on ship vote I like the idea of my battle crew ( Garrus, Tali, Miranda, ect) moving about the ship when they don't need me this would be a way better alternative then the I'm busy argument we always seem to get from them so when they have nothing to say to me they go around the ship talk to each other I can join the conversation ( like you did in 1 w/ Jenkins and Chakwas) we can all talk a bit then go about our business if they really really need to talk to me they can tell EDI ( who will tell me) or tell Kelly ( who will tell me) and I go to see them maybe 1st request tell kelly, 2nd request tell EDI, 3rd request they come to my room and find me because sometimes especially if I don't like them ie Miranda I ignore them for as long as possible so this way at some point I have to talk to her.

Liked the hold blue in and you switch to your second weapon so keep that.

No end game replay movie like they use in racecars I was there I don't need to watch a video of me doing whatever just to confirm it.

As far as continue playing the game after the games goes I liked that in 2 I just wish after the SM that everyone who’s important like Anderson and others would say hey we found out you went through and made it back what did you find and I can give them things and they can react to it ect I didn't like how I choose to continue yet no one knows I did a damn thing.

As far as those darn loading screens if I gotta pick between long elevators and loading screens I choose elevators just please vary the music!

Also voting still for the Mako and planets some barren, some like Overlords planet just as explorable as in 1 but with not so many knife edge mountains cut that type down to maybe 20% gradual mountains like I see in overlord I'm fine with but maybe only 30% mountain ranges and the rest a combo of valleys, hills, and platus? For gas planets to hazardous to land on or the gravity is too strong for humans I guess bring out the miner though please limit it I go to sleep in like 5 minuets when using it for the 80th time.

I do agree with varying side missions protect people, locate lost survivors of downed space ships, uncover and solve mysteries on abandoned ships, go into mining tunnels for things, find someone’s lost relative or stolen ship, rescue kidnapped victims, kill drug lords, help the Quarians do things for the flotilla (if you romanced Tali), help Palvin space authorities or their council (if you romanced Garrus), Help Hacket (if you rejoin Alliance), Help Cerberus operatives (if you stay with TIM), Notification of ships to plunder ( if you choose neither Alliance or TIM), things like that.

More interaction with your LI sex yes but also other things people have said maybe once or twice go out on a date at a curtain point in the game they ask you, you can say yes or no also with sex some love scene maybe at a curtain point in the game you can ask them or vise versa and you get a brief love scene vid that like the one in 1 was skipable the final love scene would look different from the other two prior. If for some reason BW just can't stand to do ME1 style love scene at least go the fable route when you go to black out it would be funny at least.

Still voting for the flash back Shepard missions go home to Midior and have to be a child trying to creatively survive with no guns, Go to Akuze play the mission start, middle, end take on really evil looking maws and watch your crew die, Go to Earth play as young Shep in the gang living poor on the street maybe some creative ass kicking and later towards the end gun play.

Maybe a H/C scene with the LI involved and each handling it slightly different I imagine Tali would comfort MShep differently then say Garrus would comfort FShep.

Yeah I agree with the one post killing bad guys is great but could I do a peaceful mission or two where I'm not being shot at?

Of course I'd then like to have it if I've been a bad shep Killed Council and made anti human movement crop up and pissed off TIM I can have random assassination attempts with guns, knives, and hand to hand appoints that randomly come into hub and station areas and try to kill me not every time I show maybe like 1 in 10 visits an attempt is made and at different locations about the only safe zone would be C-sec office, Andersons office, and Council chambers and if attempts are made Citadel people would run and scream verses Omega where they might draw guns on my opponent for me!

Also can people freak out if I'm bad shep or come up to me if I'm good Shep?

And can they freak out on non-Omega areas when I have legion with me? That was odd the citadel says no geth and look over my shoulder I've got one! Come on woman scream and hide!

Sense the debate about mako vs hammerhead keeps going maybe in 3 you can go to the used ship depot and buy either Mako or hammerhead or both and depending on which one you bought curtain hammerhead only or Mako only exploration worlds would open up I personally thought hammerhead was lame it is a civilian vessel drives and survives like one I'd like military grade vehicle that feels like a tank and acts like one too!

Stronger shot gun too ME2's shot gun was a wuss bring back my all powerful 1 shotgun!

Hey its been a while since I logged on here so if this has already been mentioned I apologize but one of my biggest problems - actually the biggest problem - with ME2 right now is the 50 save game limit. For my sheps I like the ability to go back and replay certain missions without having to go through the entire campaign again or switch over to a different shep. So if in ME3 could the save game option return to how it was in ME1 or even DA with unlimited saves? I think that'd help out a lot especially given the increase in DLC we're receiving.

Again, if this has already been mentioned and discussed I apologize.

Swank, you seem to not care for exploring at all. That's what RPG's are about! you say it's not fun walking across a large citadel, maybe it would be if it had more life/things to do. I agree that the mako SUCKED for handling, characteristics, etc, but the fact alone that we had a vehicle seemed to really scale things up a bit. Also it seems like it's 50/50 with the inventory thing. I think looting things and selling them at retailers would be great. Maybe not sitting there for 30 minutes converting to omni gel, or going through a billion upgrades that we already freakin own, but something that could balance out the two to something where we still have some sort of method to carry items and sell them. I think its a great way to earn money, get upgrades, and have that feeling of immersion. Maybe make drops rare, an inventory thats cleaner, and system that's well polished. For instance finding a weapon from a weapons crate from an old ship wreck. Pick it up, put it in ur inventory and go on. We don't need the 1000+ items in our bags, just something to keep for a souvenir.

I love the inventory in Mass Effect 2 you get what you need and salvege
the rest, more realistic that way. I love how they incorporated it on
the ship whenever you got a weapon it would lay it on the table in your
armory thought that was cool. Been playing RPGs, MMO's long enough to
tell you that I don't miss the old inventory of bad space leave that for
the Fantasy RPG's. Let Bioware innovate whatever they want on this game
who knows they could set a new standard for which Im sure they have
already on making RPG's only complaint I have is more content but thats
just me being unpatient with xpacs and dlc. It sounds like this guy who
posted this plays to much World of Warcraft or something like I said
above this game is perfect with minor flaws let Bioware spread there
wings and innovate.

haha i totally agree he need to
relize this isnt a mmorpg its a hybrid and we love it

Actually, never touched wow in my life, just think that ME1 had some really great things to it that lacks in ME2. A lot of friends of mine are kinda butthurt over the lack of inventory and customization in ME2. I enjoyed it just as much as the first, just don't want the leveling/rpg aspect to completely fall out of ME3

I agree to were the OP is going... They didnt improve some features, they out right got rid of them. The cover reminds me of gears of war. How did we go from unlimited ammo to thermal clips? How did we go from full out sprint to speed walking? From large invetory to couple iteams? Improving the ME1 inventory would have been best... I loved the fact I could upgrade a shotgun to the point it would incinerate anyone in one hit :)  The ME1 tank was not great but the large map-land was(minus it all looking like one huge texture), it made it feel more like an actual large nonlinear space. Its a hybrid but im also worried the action side will overtake the RPG one.Posted Image

Other then an economy we can actually interact with I would like more armour options for my Party. Colour change was so incredibly lame... and Garrus's armour is still damaged when it changes... WTF? I think Shepard's Armour screen was needed for all members. Have basically the same armour for each Character but allow upgrades, helmets and customise colours etc on those members. I felt like this was intended and then dropped? I actually want this in DLC for ME2 not wait 2-3 years for ME3.
On that note, Personal weapons for certain Party members and more Personalised powers for each member. Grunt had a shotgun, that was nice. Garrus and Thane should have had sweet sniper rifles unique to each guy (that gave just them a modifier, so other characters can use that weapon, but only they use it with an extra kick). Samara seemed like she needed a Biotic Boomerang/Shuriken or something; enhances Throw with an actual object tied to her Justicar status, the animation would have been tied to the current curving Biotic projectile and its maxed ability could have hit 2-3 targets (Biotically charged Weapon). Little touches with big Atmospheric and personalised results.

Abilities:
Thane needed a multi-shot ability, like in the pause menu you can select 2-5 targets (lvl based) and after unpausing he would do some sweet assassin move and take out all those guys within a few seconds. Doesn't need to kill them but he would if they had no shields/barriers etc. Failing that they could have given him a unique Melee move.
Garrus should have had a Super-headshot with his sniper rifle that worked through armour.
Samara and Jack needed a super powered Biotic ability that was like letting off a mini-nuke but had a huge cooldown. (still not effective against certain protections but would wipe out anyone with just health.)
Grunt should have been able to charge people and get in there face on command... I haven't seen him do this by himself yet, so much for being crazy. Has anyone seen him charge into battle yet??
Miranda had Slam, that's fine, I thought maybe she should have had a Slam that also used Disruption mixed in.
Jacob, well I am unsure what would have been good for him. Probably a Soldier power tied to his Cerberus skill line. He was an Alliance Marine.
Tali had the Drone, that was cool, but seemed to forget other abilities from ME1 (a common issue for all old characters really.)
Zaeed had the grenade, that was actually a good choice.
Mordin could have had some kind of Nano-Cloud that was similar to the drone but his Incinerate and CryoBlast were good.

Just a Thought.

Agree, specialized skilles... usable on command.

I'd like to see more life in the Normandy and other locations. At the moment they're like some kind of anamatronic set: everyone just stands or sits in the same place. No one ever moves around. Miranda is always in her office, Jacob is always in the Armoury etc etc. I want to see people move around, go to bed, get up, eat food at the mess, socialise with other crew members. Oblivion did it, why can't Mass Effect?

Also, I'd like to see heavier populated "hubs" eg the Citadel, Illium etc. Again, with people walking around interacting with each other and the environment etc.

I'd also like to see greater expansion on the whole Romance thing. I'd like to be able to take my LI (and even my crew) out for drinks or Varren steaks or something. I'd like to discuss my feelings about the mission and everything that's happened in the games with my LI or crew mates. Make them part of the team, make it a two-way thing rather than having me ask them how they feel all the damn time.

Maybe they can make it were you can see all of your teammates from a tv/computer in your room and make it were they do somthing funny, crazy, or sexy during certain times of the day(add day/night in game time) so that you only see it if you get to know their habits... kind of like the recordings you find in the DLC with lira being the new shadow broker....etc. They could add a com in your room so instead of walking to their room/workarea, you can com them to see what their doing or private com them to talk....
