The first ME2 trailer we saw (disregarding the teaser) was this short minute and a half presentation at E3 and in my opinion is still one of the best (launch trailer is number one no doubt). The thing I liked best about this trailer though is the music - it has a much more harder and "kick ass take names" sort of feel to it. I love Mass Effect music as much as the next BW fanatic but I wouldn't mind a mission or two with this sort of musical genre to it - especially given the increasingly monumental odds we've been facing ever since Eden Prime.

Questions, comments, snide remarks?

Thanks for reposting this. I'd forgotten about the music. It's somewhat reminiscent of that band Mogwai, I think the song is called "We No Here." Not the same, but a very distinctive and cool sound. Yeah, I'd pay money for that song, if someone could tell me who wrote it.

Deeper dialogue. ME2 can't exactly win a Pulitzer.

Mass effect is supposed to have great replay value- but ME2 is pretty much a rail-car compared to ME1. Too many constants in dialogue and event as a whole. And explore phylosopical subjects more in-depth. ME2 mentions many- slavery, trust, family and such but never really goes into it. Take ques from Star Trek: TNG or something- it's okay to use something good that someone else thought of- that's how you make a good story and/or narrative- by not limiting yourself. Just expand on subjects. Basically- more RPG. You've pretty much got combat covered. You could spice it up with random enemy spawning though- raises replay value too (look at F.E.A.R.- every time you go through the same room there will be a different number of enemies and their possitions will be different- that makes for a lot of fun.)

I would like more dialogue like in DAO , I would spend hours in the camp just talking to EVERYBODY ! Learning their story . And I really like the friend thing to , with the presents and all , I got the feeling to really bond with the characters in DAO , like in mass effect 1 , but that wasn't in mass effect 2 just take garrus with his dam calibrations ! In DAO they would hardly run out of things to say .

I'm sure it has all been said, but here is my wish list:

1. Give us more (a lot more) morally ambiguous choices, and give us no win scenario's that actually affect the player emotionally.

2. Hybrid inventory system. Bring looting back from the first game, refined, of course, but keep the interchangeable armor parts, and perhaps give us more than one base suit that can be customized. Also, add the interchangeable parts system to weapons.

3. More dialogue with party members, and the ability to speak with them outside of the ship, like in KotOR.

4. Expanded variety in N7 missions or uncharted worlds, whatever you want to call them. Obviously include some with improved vehicle sections, like the massive desolate worlds of ME1 and some were you just drop in and kill things, like ME2. However, I would very much enjoy if there were other sidequests that broke the mold, like the one where you are walking on a falling ship in ME2. Make some that are simply puzzles; you did that in ME2 but the puzzles were laughably easy. It's a sidequest, lets make them ridiculously hard! Further sidequest worlds with no combat at all and short, dialogue based quests.

5. More sidequests, main quest length, and size from main planets. Remember in KotOR, 10-15 hours on a single planet. I loved that. Lets do that again. Particularly with the Citadel, that place should be huge!

6. Earth!!!!!!!!!

Basically, take all of the great elements from your library, and put them together.

- No planet scanning. Really slows the game down. It's annoying enough that you unlock something, then have to buy it with minerals/metals.

- Earth to be blown up by reapers (to suggest that there's no going back)

- Ability to make a lot of strategic calls and pick who would be best suited to what positions and see different results.

- Having a teammate become severely maimed.

- More AMMO.

- Ability to sell soul to devil and become lesser evil.

- Separate cooldowns on different powers, Mass Effect 1 was a far better game than 2 for straight out power usage. Oh, and let powers work their way through armour better/don't have so many types with huge shields/barriers and low health, reverse it.

- In flight combat! Man the turrets/take the helm of the ship in amidst a massive space firefight.

- More powers/skills. Less emphasis on ammo powers.

- No/minimal/non-intrusive DRM

- Release a program that lets us create export files and make lots of decisions without having to play through entire games.

To deny all merits to a piece of narrative and moreover,to demand the makers to bend it to your narrow tastes  simply because you don't like it is extremely self-centered, which leads me to ask to questions :

1) Are you American?
2) Are you 12?

As an American I can say that I find your stereotyping quite offensive.
Otherwise, however, I do agree with your points.

Something that has perhaps not been mentioned before....

Make enemies behave in a more believable way. I didn't like Far Cry 2, it had the worst story in the world, but it did have one neat idea: enemies that don't just stand there like zombies before spotting you. Have the bad guys wander around, have them talk to each other, sleep, eat and maybe even armwrestle or something. Not only would this make encounters much more dynamic and open up strategy options, it would provide immersion (I can't tell you how much it bugs me when I see enemies that are literally just standing there with their guns as if they have no other purpose in life but to stand in that one place waiting for you).

Am I alone here?

Choices from past games should have a more significant impact than they did in ME2. A request shared by most everybody. Still, that does leave people who don't have the previous games from actually seeing all the alternate content, which hurts the prudency of creating it.

To address this, perhaps there could be something like the solution being made for the PS3 version of ME2, but with a limitation such that ME1/ME2 players still get rewarded. I'd propose that, like ME2, there'd be "default" outcomes from the decisions in the previous games. However, if you're not importing an ME2 save, you'd be allowed to change a limited number of these (major) outcomes from their defaults. That would open up the alternate content for all players, but they'd have to play the game multiple times to see it all. Imported saves, of course, would have no such restriction. It'd increase the replay value (which is never a bad thing) for ME newcomers, while still giving ample reward to veterans. And, as I said, it'd eliminate the issue of creating extra content that only a certain subset of the player base would even get to see, since anyone would potentially be able to with this system.

If outcomes of variable "significance" were to be put in that system, then it could be made a little more complex by making it a point distribution system. Altering more significant outcomes would cost more points than those of lesser significance. Perhaps you could even change an outcome to a "bad" outcome (for example, if there's returning squad mates from ME2 that were assumed to have survived the Suicide Mission by default, you could change them to have died), which would increase the amount of points you could spend to change other outcomes.

Thoughts?

Hi, there.

My wish for the next game in the 'Mass Effect' series is simple and easy to be implemented by the development team of the game.

Please, increase the size of the fonts of the subtitles and dialog topics.

Not even on my 37´´ Full HD tv I can read them comfortably. The fonts seem to me too small and the chosen colour is always too similar to the one of the background. The font type, colour and size of the subtitles of 'Final Fantasy XIII' in this sense seem perfect to me. Something in the style is what I´m talking about.

And that´s it. Hope someone of Bioware staff read my comment. However, I consider 'Mass Effect 2' a masterpiece and one of the greatest games in this gen.

It looks perfectly fine to me on PC. Could make it an adjustable option, though.

I going to try to stay realistic here perfect game don't exist not yet anyway,Mass Effect 1 have a great story, great graphic if you know how to tweak it and a passable game play.Mass Effect 2 disappoint me in term of story, the graphic and game play are very great bravo Bioware.face it ME2 story is simple:solve people problems, humanity have problems with the collector, the Illusive Man throwing the collector problems at you, squad members throwing they problems at you,Liara throwing the Shadow Broker problems at you even after helping her assassinate the Shadow Broker, when she take the base I have a feeling I just add more problems to my back and i still don't know how to defeat the Reapers.

My only wish is ME3 to be epic in terms of:story, game play, graphic

Anyone else see the teaser video Bioware has posted? I saw it on Kotaku about an hour ago. Looks like it could be ME DLC or an ME 3 teaser.

- multi team quests/missions- i.e suicide mission

- more interactive environment during combat ex: manipulating pillars/weak structures to block avenues of approach.

- more opened environment during missions, they are too linear.

- multiple galaxies??

More dialogues, especially with storic teamsquads and LI (you know wha I have in mind xD) and many possible endings achieved as conseguence of our action along the whole trilogy and not by a "Save the Galaxy or Kill the Reapers at all costs" final simple option.
