For the love of all that is good in holy, do not make me scan a planet, roam a planet looking for minerals to survey, or ANY OTHER TYPE OF COLLECTION ACTIVITY. Leave that to the protheans.

If you must make me earn my upgrades and experience points fine, but as it stands I'm considering propping up my controller in such a way it continues to scan planets for me in a spiraling pattern while I get up to find a drink, probably alcoholic in nature if I have to scan one more planet.

Oh yeah, and this.  They were hilarious and so were Tali and Garrus.  Mwuahahahaha... "I have a shot gun."

Let's have an option to turn off the aiming assistance on the 360. One of the more frustrating aspects of ME 2 combat.

I don't mind some collection, but the scanning was way worse than using the vehicle. The scanning could have been improved by having the ship scanner tell me what kind of minerals were on the surface. Some planets had the description mention eezo, which clued us in that it was there. Also, you can scan way more planets and minerals than you actually need. How about we trade that in for cash?

Shouldn't you have to be in space port somewhere to get an upgrade? I mean did we upgrade the armor in space?

How many times do we need to say that we want customizeable armor. That doesn't mean shoulder pads. That means color, material, and bonus stats. The same is true with our weapons.

Shouldn't ammo be more of an inventory item than a skill?

Wishlist for ME3 (mostly story related):

-- more quests related to pushing main Reaper story forward vs. Character Loyalty quests.  ME1 was all about the story, ME2 was all about the characters, ME3 is all about the story again.  ME2 didn't really push the epic Reaper story forward much for me and was more underwhelming.
-- larger role for Captain Anderson - he rocks! Maybe having him recruitable or join you on a mission.
-- ME3 story makes it clear that ALL races (not just humanity) are worried about the Reaper threat.  Same note: travelling to or showing homeworlds of all major Council races (Turians, Asari, Salarains) and showing them fighting off the Repears would be stellar.
-- ME2 felt very human-centric.  ME3 should make it feel like the entire GALAXY is dealing with this now.  All races need to unite to take care of this threat.
-- more exciting "lore moments" and ah-ha moments like Virgil on Ilos and realizing the Conduit was actually on the Citadel in ME1.
-- 'evil' figurehead like Saren from ME1 to personalize the threat a bit more and actual interaction with this being (there was no direct dialogue between the Collector Harbinger in ME2.)
-- option for gay male/male romance.
-- travel to Reaper space? I bet that's gonna happen for sure...
-- more 'exploration' only sidemissions like: ESTEVANICO.  That rocks!
-- travel to the Hanar homeworld: sweet!
-- more 'ancient' places with a lot of story-related history -- like in ME1 on Ilos.
-- multiple step exploration missions/whodunit in one location akin to the Peak 15 research station: what happened here?, getting the AI restarted, dealing with the Arachni, dealing with Benezia.
-- Arachni queen interaction
-- time travel (maybe back to see the Protheans pre-Reapers or the Citadel when first constructed) or somehow get a larger glimpse of this cycle of annihilation every 50,000 years.
-- interacting with the Keepers!
-- adding additional DLC for ME1 which plays a role in your ME3 experience.
-- more singing from party members! (a la Mordin in ME2)

I saved all my squadmembers in ME2 I want them to be apart (well most off them) off my team in ME3. Compared to the likes of Ashley,Kaiden and Liara I actually enjoyed interacting with them. Also the big decisions made in ME2 should play big part in ME3 (I saved the collector base at the end). Like the big decisions in ME1 ie. (Save the Rachni queen and save the coucil). They had no affect on ME2.....The coucil spoke for about 3 mins and were never seen again, and the Rachni queen sends you a message off thanks through an Asari on Illium.

I loved Mass Effect 2, it was simple (gameplay-wise), fun and had a great story (and characters).

I didn't play the first Mass Effect when I got ME2, but I did now so I could pick my "decisions".

I got ME, played it and put it down as not worth it. I just don't like it (well, the gameplay).

Please, put the option to fill in a quiz thingy with ME1 and 2 decisions. I get that filling in a quiz is not the same as a cutscene, so maybe show the cutscene and then let you do the decsion (only important ones ofc) with the option of choosing the canon choices if you cba.

I guess you wouldn't make the LIs optionable like that cuz there's supposed to be some big reward for staying loyal to them or something.

Maybe something to just fight for the hell of it (and credits :)). Make up something, like reclaiming an old Quarian Colony from the Heretics or something.

The countless Armor VI item thingies sucked btw. But a bit more armour than in ME2 wouldn't hurt, aswell as more casual clothes.

Seeing as only a small portion of people even mentioned story, my good friend posted an interesting idea: while going about stopping the reapers and all that, what if a SPECTRE or two decide it's in their best interests to "try" and eliminate Shepard?

My wishlist would look like this

1. No "Mission complete" screen. I felt it didn't quite fit, it gave me the impression of "You've completed level #12, procede to the next level". Just bring back xp for kills to level up.

2. Keybinding weapons. I play on a  PC and finding out that I couldn't bind my weapons was kind of sad, I mean I have a keyboard with all these buttons and i can't make use of them. To change weapons I always had to pause the game. I felt like I was playing a console game with a mouse and a keyboard. Using the mouse to scroll trough the weapons just didn't work for soldier class(although it probably is OK for classes that have less guns). So please bring back the weapon keybinds, as it would make the combat much more convenient.

3. Party banter. Basically I'd like you to add random conversations between squadmates, we had that in the first game. However as the elevators were scrapped so was the banter. Look at DAO in that department, it was amazing, your party felt alive.

I finished ME2 and right now I'm playing ME1 to catch up with the storyline, but it wasn't worth it. To me, weapons without reloading is load of crap, vehicle exploration is also bullcrap. In contrast, ME2 is definitely superb. but, it would be much better if it had more "free" armors and equipments, more side quests along with little bit longer main storyline, bigger cities and market places. I mean, Citadel and Illium are big, but what you can do there is very limited...

I only have one wish, since I read through quite a few and most of what I'd suggest was already mentioned.

My one wish: In the make your own character section before you start the game, how's about we add one more option to the list of things you can change? Let's add "race". I like to play as a Turian, or a Krogan for that matter. (won't fit with the story I know.) But this isn't just an Mass Effect wish. This is a bioware wish. Playing as a different race would be fun. Doesn't have to be in mass effect, just in games they make in the future. having that option would be groovy. (yes I said groovy, I'm bringing it back. Wanna fight about it?)

My favorite idea so far.  I'd expand it though with a couple things though

(1)not just a spectre or two doing one failed hit, but make it something you constantly have to worry about during gameplay.  Make a spectre pretty hard to beat, so that the player almost fears running into one.  Either make it a group of say 6 or 7 and you take them out one by one.

(2)  I wouldn't make it just a normal enemy popping out along with a normal swarm of bad guys.  (I hated that in ME1  "Oh I need to take out this crime boss"  "man that last wave of bad guys wasn't too bad, I'm ready for him now."  "wait... ... I killed him already?")  anywho, the way I'd do it would be to have them approach shepard in a variety of ways.  Maybe Shepard's at a bar (like say afterlife) and orders a drink, some salarian walks up and strikes up a conversation that ends up with him subtly letting shepard know he's a spectre and there to kill her then bam, bar fight.  Or maybe you're in the middle of a plot mission or side quest and you get a cut scene where a spectre is introduced  They have a short conversation that leads into a fight.  Hell make one of them a possible squad member (assuming you say the right things in the conversation).

I really love this idea.  major props to your friend.

One thing I liked about importing your character's choices was that it made it seem much more... I don't know, concrete maybe?  I can't find the right word.  But I liked that when you make a decision, it's made.  You have to either play with the consequences/benefits, or start all over.

It just makes me feel like I'm playing "my" shepard.  To each his own though, I don't see the harm in doing both.  Having it to where you can either import a character or do the Q&A thing.  Much like the handled the facial scars.

this would be great, maybe even as DLC for ME2 since you can flip the bird to the council... another thing i felt might enhance the game might be that if you preform certain actions, your party will rebel against you or leave. i really enjoyed this mechanic in other bioware games...

BETTER DIALOG

Better dialog, most importantly with your team. Make Shepard less of a noob with the ladies or men if that's your thing. Less goofy grinning too, whats up with that? If Shep wasn't such a BAMF I doubt he would be getting any tail with his lines...

CARRY THE ROMANCE

I'm not pulling a James Bond, if Shep gets shafted again I'm saving the galaxy alone damnit!

Anyway, two things I would like to see in ME3. Not sure if that part of the game has been discussed much. Like some things I have read though.

What i think is that my suspicion is that they suffered like everyone else last year and/or year before from the recession in the world. EA made them rush the project and in the end we got stuff that was in the end very good dont get me wrong but in my experience was a bit "hallow" like many side quests who didnt have any meaning other than just being there and some others that didnt have any morality checks and suffered because of that. My wish is that they focus on completing this next game and make it as good as they can because in my oppinion Bioware has the reputation to say **** you EA we will release when its ready and not rush a new game after 2 years (heard they were going for a late 2011 early 2012 mark, which seems to me like a rush). EA needs the money so the game and us the consumers suffer. Bioware has produced my favorite games in the past and which the gamers all over the world love. Its all in the story and atmosphere for me. Take the quest in ME2 where you find yourself stuck in a base and the A.I. of the station takes over. That mission was one of the most enthralling i remember. But it could have been so much better. So to summarize on my list i would put: More customization on armor, not just for main character, try implement for party members as well. More depth to side quests, with morality and such. Consider bigger maps(planets if you will) to explore. Make mining simpler i.e. when you scan a planet you will be able to see which minerals the planet has and the scanner scans the whole planet as a whole and shows you the dots where you can put your probe and later you can upgrade this to mine/scan better, cos in my oppinion ME2 suffered from this process cos i was spending less time on story/action then i wanted. Focus more on story/action/content rather than fillups thats what im trying to say, thats what mining and side quests felt for me after i completed it and went for another playthrough. It makes you want to get over the mining side quest stuff and get to the main story. If Bioware can pull off more exiting side quests with morality and some depth then i dont worry, i would rather want to spend 30+ hours doing compelling completed quests on exiting planets than doing nothing than watching some dull meters mining some ****. Speaking of minerals, to make it worthwile the time you have to put into it i would want to be able to sell the minerals on an open/black market. Those are just a few ideas that pop into my mind when thinking of stuff that could make my experience in ME better and i certainly want it to become good because as i said ME2 is a great game but could be so much more. Its a game of such proportions that it should be thrilling to play it each time, just like for instance Baldur's Gate 1&2 were. I know in my heart that Bioware can pull it off.
