I wish there was an option to turn off the loading screen hints as they really break the immersion!

 Lets see here...

Environments/Immersion

I want Bioware to really avoid the design trends of the last few games they have released. I don't expect something open world or technology like Radiant AI, but its time that their games were large and felt even larger again. The fact that the Citadel felt more alive in ME1 than it did in ME2 just did not make sense unless they are being rushed to publish. The world should feel dynamic, alive, and immersive. I want to see people moving around the Citadel, the Normandy, and other worlds.

I hope that they up the exploration factor. I want hub worlds to be large and with lots to do. Omega (if it returns) should have all sorts of things to do and just feel large and unwieldy.

-Combat Environments
We are about to find ourselves in the middle of a full scale war... and I want it the game to lend itself to larger battles. I want to be fighting my way through the streets while human military forces skirmish whatever it is we are fighting on the ground. I can just imagine tanks and hammerheads driving past, dust kicked up when they fire their main gun. However I am not hopeful, I doubt they have done enough the ME3 engine to achieve any of this... I guess next gen hopefully. Maybe BF3 will be mod friendly and we can have a ME mod.

-Animations
Simple, I want a lot more of them. Combat especially could benefit.

-Enemy AI
This needs to be seriously look at as it hurts the gameplay. I want to see enemy units work in teams, shout out to each other when reloading (when they are actually reloading) so another will lay down suppression fire. Grenades to flush Shepard out rather than relying on bum-rushing would be nice. I want them to be able to engage at longer distances, one fires to keep your head down while the others move up. Blind fire would be cool.

-Vehicle Combat / System Revamp
I want whatever vehicle I have to be central to gameplay in some cases. I want to be excited to land on a desert world and take it out to explore a town and then a mine. I am hoping that assignments are found through exploring worlds rather than launching probes at them.

The vehicle system as a whole either needs to be redone. As it has been lately, its been a tack on. Shepard and crew should be able to climb in and out with an accompanying animation. Perhaps an inside the vehicle view would be nice. One crew member could be driving, one manning the sensors/communications, and one manning the gun (although in reality you are still in control of everything). When you get hit sparks fly, crew members curse, alarms go off, etc.

Vehicle customization would be awesome if they actually implemented a fun system. Prefer fast and stealthy...put on lighter armor, stealth systems, and a weapon system meant for hit and run. Want something meant to go through buildings rather than around them? Get the large mass accelerator cannon, heavy armor, and treads. The possibilities for this are endless, perhaps even have multiple vehicles in the hanger.

-More than three squad members on the field. I don't necessarily want more than two others with me, but I want to feel like the rest of my squad has a role to play in every mission. Take the squad assignment mechanic from SM and apply it to multiple missions, your choices change the outcome of the mission.

There is a lot more but most of those have been touched on. Honestly, if Bioware just worked on their environments I would be jumping for joy.

An option to swap players/switch who u control in your party.  I'd appreciate this mostly in insanity difficulty.  ( I could send my two party members to opposite sides of a room and if too much heat builds around one of them I can switch to them and more accurately manipulate the battle and every other battle down to the bone.)

wrap up the whole story if this is the last one.  I'd like to see a lot of the species' original home worlds.  I want to see ILOS again with the upgraded graphics.

More Ship interactions.  More crew, and almost no one should be in the same place on the ship everytime, or if they're in the same room, at least let em walk around the room doing things.  being able to ask the ships computer where the person you're looking for is.

I think once we beat the game, since we can still roam around, we should be able to retry missions, or have a battle pop up in mid travel.  After spending around 50 hrs (give or take a few) playing the game and getting all the upgrades seems kinda like a waste because you might only get to use a fully upgraded shepard once per game, (all other time spent is mainly scanning planets).  Let us play with the powers more after finishing the game by retrying missions and assignments without the upgrades and without changing choices made.

I agree with TENNESSEE88

I understand it might still be a little late for this
but after playing the mass effect series i became very passionate about the game's storyline and its sense of "Epicness" so to speak

how ever one thing i did want to point out was the music within the game
as much as i loved the 1st and second games sound track
i would like to suggest to introduce scenes that are very intense or emotional to require some extremely matching music, perhaps if possible any scene that changes into the so called slo mo action sequence or other have something beautiful some thing based around maybe Johann johannsson's the Sun's gone dim and the sky's turned black .

now as cliche as it might be and since Battle:LA is already using this music
and since this is just a suggestion perhaps something that brings the human persona of music back into the playlist might seem nice. as much as we loved the sci fi defining music that outlined the mass effect universe, its probably best to introduce some tear jerking moments with the appropriate music.

thanks and hopefully the mental gents and ladies of bioware understand my disposition

oh and it would be nice to introduce some flashbacks of shepards past into the loading screen when or where ever applicable to the story line. thanks and much luck to the project

from one of your slightly zealous fans

I'll focus solely on game features.  The rest, such as music and graphics kinda go without saying.

-Bringing back Liara, Talia, Garrus, Mordin and Legion as squadmates.  Helps to create a larger sense of continuity as well as pleasing the fans.   Ashley/Kaidan is trickier as they could be killed off in the first but a large cutscene or cutscenes would be nice on that front, same with Wrex. You  already have these characters, why not use them?

-New characters.  If you don't meet new people, how do you know if you'll like them or not?  Also brings in the new players.

-More weapons and different attachments, same with armor.  More base weapons are nice but having things like scopes, recoil dampners, silencers(would be godly with the Cloak), or any number of attachments would be beyond great.  It would help to develop a sense that you are creating a gun that is just as unique as your Shepard.  It would also allow you to approach mobs differently.  Helmet toggle please

-More powers.  While Mass Effect 2 did a great job in this regard, more powers is always a bonus.  It allows for more options which is the premier thing in RPGs.  It also just like more weapons adds a sense of tacticality to it.

-Bring back the old sights.  Seeing what Noveria and Feros look like now would be great way of demonstrating the effects of your actions as well as tying into the first game. Illium was a gorgeous planet and it would be a shame to never see it again. The Citadel obviously has to be larger.  I loved the sight of the Presidium and being able to explore it would be great.  Afterlife also is too good to just disappear.  This is your final game in the ME trilogy, might as well go all out.  You could even reuse some of the same backgrounds and locations while updating the textures and NPCs. This again creates a larger sense of continuity as well as nostalgia.

-More planets.  I want to see what Rannoch, Thessia, Sur'Kesh, and Palaven look like.  If we get to see Earth then it's only fair that we should see the homeplanets of other species.

-Space fights.  Not sure how you would implement this but maybe a rail shooter similar to TOR for the Normandy during a large scale battle would be a fun mini-game.  Seeing a huge galaxy-wide fleet taking on the Reapers would be great as it gives you a sense of accomplishment and what you've built up to for the past few games.

-Get rid of the planet scanning.  No mini-game should be so boring that I fall asleep while playing it.  Create some possibility of failure like with the rest of ME2's mini-games.  However from what I can guess, it seems you're already aware of that.

-A harder game on the higher difficulties.  While ME1 and ME2 could be challenging on Insane, taking it even a little further for the challenge seekers out there would be nice.

-Similar dialog system.  ME2 pretty much nailed this.  More room for a gray option instead of extreme Paragon and extreme Renegade options would be a bonus.  Maybe like two Paragon options and while one is more extreme such as giving money to some homeless dude, the other could be a less saint-like version but still kind and caring.  Same with Renegade.

-Story branching.  This is the final game, go crazy.  You've been hyping up how you can do all these different branches as this is the last game in the trilogy so live up that.  Multiple endings please.  Hell I would love one where Shepard can fail.  No automatic Game Over, just showing him fail would be interesting.  He's up against the most powerful things in the galaxy so it shouldn't be a shock if he can lose.  Not just emails or little tidbits but dialog options or even some minor side-missions.

-A stronger main story.  I think this goes without saying however I'll elaborate.  The main story in ME2 was the weakest aspect of it.  This is the last entry and I know conclusions can be a nightmare to write but try to create something with the impact of KOTOR that is not only epic in the galactic scale but also emotionally involving.  Right now Mass Effect could quite possibly becoming the greatest sci-fi gaming trilogy of all time but for the final act a great story and conclusion is needed.  Also no Shepard magically disappearing after he defeats the Reapers.  Way too overused.

-Land Vehicles.  LotSB got this right and the chase scene was not only fun but gave the player a bit of a break.  You also need to also buff up the shields on the tank as right now the Hammerhead is made out of glass.  Overload got the exploration part of the land vehicles down which I would like to see re-implemented into ME3.

-Less concerned in regards to the linearity but try to make the missions more connected with the hub part of the world instead of just isolated places.  I would have loved to explore the residential area of Illium instead of just going there for Samara's recruitment mission and never going back.  Even being able to take a taxi would be nice over there would be nice.

-A new Normandy but same crew.  Change is always nice but I'm sure you've already decided this way in advance.  It would help to make each entry feel unique though.  Joker and EDI were great, same with Chambers.

-More enemy models and better AI, both squad and enemy.  Again something that ME2 vastly improved on in comparison to ME1 and I would like to see more.  The Reapers are finally here so it's appropriate that we see some new ground troops they brought with them.  It's not like we can just shoot their ships and the husks are too mindless to be a central enemy for ME3, unless they become smarter ;).

Honest to god I don't know why I typed that as it's not like anyone from Bioware is going to read this.  And even if they did, at this point they've already decided what they're going to develop and what they're not going to do.  Sigh.

I would like to see an extra member added to the away team. total 4 and maybe some more spectres in play maybe they could fill in for the lost team members. I personally dread the idea that i built the ultimate team just to see them dissasembled.

3- visit all alien homeworlds plus all the places we had in ME1 and ME2.
4- landing on planets (with better missions and enemies)

7- SPACE COMBAT YAHHHH :P
8- option to bombard the Batarian home world from orbit.
9- no more DLC just make an expansion disc and we will happily buy it.

11- let us enjoy the missions and don't rush us (like after the IFF mission).
12- more sand boxness and non linear levels (as much as possible)
13- SPACE COMBAT
14- no more scanning unless its for missions.
15- Quarian, Volis... what do they look like under the armor ??!!!
16- female krogan, batarinas (right)...etc

a Dead Space armor outfit would be nice. raising power damage, health and shields by at least 5% each. also, Mass Effect has made it around the world, it's a masterpiece. so a little more character customization wouldn't hurt. being able to create a wider variety of human facial and body structure would be beneficial to the player. add more skin tones and ethnicities. If I want Wesley Snipes to save the galaxy I shouldn't have a hard time trying to get his skin tone, and if a want Bruce Lee I should be able to get an asian set of eyes. Body structure, muscle tone and height could allow the player more options to create his/her "ideal" hero. (Of course we wouldn't need too much customization there. A Fat Shepard wouldn't be practical.) after changing these things you might have to allow players to change the way their shepard looks after transfering saves to sequels.

My biggest request for ME3 stems from the fact that I'm a greedy gamer. On my ME2 replays, I always felt like I was being cheated out of something because I know what the other classes get. Having to go from the Revenant and a sniper and both inferno and heavy disrupter ammo (plus the bonus power) to using my heavy pistol half of the time because I want to play with sniper-scope dilation irked me.
So my suggestion/wish is some sort of class customization for replays. I'm thinking something along the lines of with each replay you can switch an ability for another so that you can make a class like Thane with snipers, assault rifles, and biotics, but without having the best of all of it. This could also allow players to switch out their "dud" powers for ones they would rather invest in, if you're using an assault rifle and you don't think you need disrupter ammo, switch it for warp. If you never put points into shockwave on higher difficulties, switch it for incinerate.

I'm sure there is some sort of counter-argument about the developers being unable to control the power level or progression of players making their own classes this way, but if restricted to subsequent play-throughs I don't think it would be a great problem.

I also think this would also help with the feeling that ME2 cut a little too much of the RPG out of the franchise in favor of streamlining it. While I love that Bioware took so much feedback to heart in designing ME2, I think they may have taken it a tad too far. I bought Mass Effect as an RPG with guns. ME2 felt like a shooter with stat building. Don't get me wrong, I play tons of shooters, even more than RPGs, but with Mass Effect as my RPG of choice, having there be less RPG hurts the core of why I became interested.

And to go along with that sentiment, I support the calls for more equipment. Perhaps the ME1 inventory was too cumbersome and the ME2 loadout method is still kept, but I wanted many more options to choose from, espcially when I was playing with a class that could only use a couple types of weapons in the first place. One of the most iconic parts of RPGs is where you have to compare and contrast your gear and prioritize whether you want higher accuracy or rate of fire, more damage or more zoom.

I'd like some more space combat, those upgrade were expensive and I think more people need to get whooped by them.

And I made many fortune demonlishing mistakes on buying upgrade I already got from missions because I couldn't keep them all in my head, so a simple removal of things I don't need from shopping lists would save me some grief

And, as always, I'd like to see Tali'Zorah's face :D.

I support the breakdown of combat into barrier/armor/shield rock-paper-scissors arrangement, the pace of the game, the loyalty missions to learn the cast, the structure of the side missions, the conversation interrupts, and the general amazing work on the game.

Like so many before me, space combat is a big hope of mine. I REALLY liked the inclusion of space combat within Halo: Reach and am in high hopes that Bioware could similarly pull something off like this with ME3. I'd like to see a space fighter like vehicle in the bay of the Normandy that Shepard can take out for a mission or two and engage other fighters or those mantis gunships. Please don't accomplish this with the lame, uninspired, boxy looking Kodiak dropship. Let's have a dedicated fighter or interceptor that can launch out of the Normandy and take care of business!

Although, I am a newcomer to the trilogy, I kind of liked the unlimited ammo, in ME1, although the heat in the guns rose kind of fast, ME2, I didn't mind the thermal clips but sometimes, I kind of felt there weren't enough around when I needed them.

ME3, I'd like to see most of everyone's suggestions because they are good ideas.

I hope there are more paragon actions in ME3.
Its obvious that Bioware wanted people to choose renegade in ME2 which is wrong.

I also hope that guy on the citadel gets a refund in the end.

Well, call me black sheep (Or not), but with all the emphasis on 'choice' and the duality between good guy choices and bad guy choices, I think it should be a totally acceptable choice at the end of the game either to fail in your fight against the Reapers, or join them and let the rest of civilization figure out what to do.

I want the elevators to return because load screens are worse. I always thought the elevator was an interesting substitute for the load screen.

I want an inventory system again, with thorough weapon and armor modifications. Only, this time, make the inventory system much less clunk, much more organized, and speedy.

Resource mining must go. And I don't mean a return of the Mako. The Mako is fine, but gathering resources is a time sink. My philosophy is that their are core functions and secondary functions, and secondary functions should never be mandatory or steal away from core functions. Resource mining is a secondary function that was treated very much like a core function in ME2. I player should be able to take the linear path without diversion, on a high difficulty setting, without any penalties for not stopping to to peg flags on some random rock in space.

Oh, and the overheating gun with unlimited ammor idea was ace. Ammo gathering is simply another waste of time and energy in the ME series.

EDIT: PS Custom classes a must.

You know what I'd really like?
To meet Shepard's family. Maybe not all of them.
But at least a sister or mother figure of some kind. Hopefully while the LI is around

Also LOOT
And bigger citadel please
1st game citadel was amazing. Especially the minor details like the Krogan statue etc.

I hate to be the guy who wants ME3 to borrow some gameplay elements from other games, but I think all developers pay attention to what the other guy is doing and seek to make it better themselves. Having said that, I thought the cover system in ME2 was very awkward and clunky. I tried to avoid having to use it altogether but as we know, this is how Shepard regains health and avoids being a red smear on the ground. Splinter Cell: Conviction, however, had the most natural cover system (in my opinion) and I would really like to see Bioware adapt something like this for ME3. I understand Shepard is not intended to be spider-man Sam Fisher, but the cover system was so smooth and intuitive.

Like many others, I would like to see the inventory system revamped for Shepard's third outing. I think the developers went to the opposite extreme based on ME1 complaints and nuked any semblance of an inventory system in the second game. Maybe we'll get a happy medium from the third. I imagine a wall of weapons in Normandy's armory. Shepard can select which weapon he wants to spend credits or resources on customizing and go from there.

PLEASE...no more resource mining. Innovative, yes, but it destroyed the flow of the game.
