Bring back the tasteful love scenes from ME1. Liara's was my favorite; so fluid and beautiful. Everything from the lighting to the music made it the greatest. The culmination of the ME2 romances were disappointing, to say the least. I guess Fox News would've attacked those, too.  And no, I'm not a pervert.

What would i like from ME3:

- Good story ofc but i have trust in Bioware

- I wish that we would have option to pick from characters in both  ME1 and ME2 for  crew in M3 how we like.

- As ppl mentioned before i would like maybe less repetiteve exploration like it was in ME1 and more content with more detailed zones ,  like more huge citadels with content.

- I think is very good idea if we would see citadel of every race in ME3

- I think itemizations in ME2 was much better maded than in ME1 ,  we rly dont need half of our game to go in cleaning our inventory in omni gel .

- Would be cool if they would add maybe some sort of space combat with Normandy.

-Help Wrex unite the Krogan clans and Tali destroy the Geth on her homeworld, both within the context of preparing the galaxy for the Reaper invasion.

-Make mineral scanning faster and allow them to be bought and sold like commodities so you don't end up with stockpiles of some--you know who you are, palladium!--when what you really need is more platinum.

-Have some individual or group try to get to you through your love interest. It could present some very interesting and difficult choices.

Only thing I really hope ME3 has is a continuation of ME1/ME2 romance (if my FemShep can't continue her romance with Liara, I'll be pissed)

Hmm...Some conclussion (paragon/Renegade) to Genophage and Geth/Quarian would also be cool!

i agree with everything in the OP.  This game needs alot of the original ME elements that were cut for the sequel because bioware wanted to "streamline" the inventory, leveling up and exploration.  STREAMLINE was another word for cutting it out of the game, and making it a shooter.  for the love of god bioware, please bring back the classic rpg elements that made this game so sweet the first time.  they had their problem, but these problem would have been easy fixes.  the loot and inventory system was the reason i played through the first multiple times.  trying to get the best weapon, ammo and armor.  bring it back.

I'd like to see more life in the Normandy and other locations. At the moment they're like some kind of anamatronic set: everyone just stands or sits in the same place. No one ever moves around. Miranda is always in her office, Jacob is always in the Armoury etc etc. I want to see people move around, go to bed, get up, eat food at the mess, socialise with other crew members. Oblivion did it, why can't Mass Effect?

Also, I'd like to see heavier populated "hubs" eg the Citadel, Illium etc. Again, with people walking around interacting with each other and the environment etc.

I'd also like to see greater expansion on the whole Romance thing. I'd like to be able to take my LI (and even my crew) out for drinks or Varren steaks or something. I'd like to discuss my feelings about the mission and everything that's happened in the games with my LI or crew mates. Make them part of the team, make it a two-way thing rather than having me ask them how they feel all the damn time.

What I want to see in Mass Effect 3;

1. The Normandy crew lead an attack to retake the Quarian home world from the Geth, after finding that the Geth have technology that is needed to defeat the Reapers, and the only way to get it is to drive them off the Quarian home world

2. Tali with out that breathing apparatus

3. A pet varren

4. A Vorcha squad member

5. A Batarian squad member

6. Legion returning with the hole in his chest repaired

7. More opportunities for love scenes

8. Brief nudity

9. A new threat to continue the series.

10. More alien races with unique abilities

One of the things I want in Mass Effect 3, is more of the Citadel.

Reason: I didn't like the whole toned down Citadel in ME2.

I so agree with Malastare, no space battles, dogfights, cannon aiming, or racing!

Malastare- wrote...

figuare9 wrote...

Give us levels that make us feel like we've accomplished something! (VERY IMPORTANT!)

In my opinion, ME2 has done a good job of making me feel more powerful.  Tough stuff is still tough, and by mid game, weak things are just toys.  I've never liked linking external game elements to character levels ("Sorry, only level 20 Shepards in here, level 19s are going to have to wait"), and while I know people hate level scaling areas, you must scale in some manner or the game becomes effectively linear.

figuare9 wrote...

Bring back the Inventory (upgradeable sizing)

This is really personal taste.  For the style of the ME series (sci-fi, realistic), I find the idea of Shepard pushing a cart of all the sniper rifles and armor he's found a little unrealistic.  Along the same lines, I find it unrealistic that there are dozens of weapons lying around in Malfunctioning Objects.  And why did anyone send a probe into space with a sniper rifle and an Omni-Tool stuffed into it?

Yes, there are lots of people who love RPGs with loot.  However, looting is not a requirement of an RPG.  It's actually one of the least believeable parts of them.

figuare9 wrote...

Upgradeable weapons/armor (The NEW fasioned way)

That sounds a lot like the current method.  I can see what you're saying, and some choice in what Level 4 Sniper Rifle Damage does might be nice, but it's not actually different in substance.

figuare9 wrote...

Where did the vehicle go!? Please. . . Give it back!!

I'm fine without the MAKO.  In fact, I'm slightly better than fine. I prefer taking the shuttle.  The uncharted planets were visually stunning, but for realism ranged from questionable to downright unbelieveable and the fun of driving up ridiculously steep cliffs waned within minutes.  I still love ME1, but I view the Mako as a mediocre element of it.

figuare9 wrote...

Please, Make the citadel larger.

I'm all for bigger areas, but I see no reason to focus on the citadel unless the story focuses on the citadel.  I'd rather have a large new area than to waste time on expanding the citadel because fans feel that it is important.

figuare9 wrote...

More Normandy fights!

Unless you're talking about fighting a group of enemies that has invaded the Normandy, I'll pass, thanks.  I'm just not interested in space battles.  No dogfights.  No cannon aiming.  No racing.  I'm not gonna say that it sucks, I'm just not interested.  I'd much rather Bioware spend their time elsewhere.

Well personally I don't really care about racing, but ship battles would be a nice element to add to the game. The Normandy itself and Joker would have a more active role, and that means more Seth Green (awesome dude) which is cool. Ship battles could range from actively arcadeish, to turn-based and cinematic, as seen on a great RPG of old - Skies of Arcadia.

Actual space exploration could be a nice touch, as well. RPGs have lost a lot of their exploration aspects over the last years, and having the whole universe as source material, Mass Effect 3 could bring it back with a bang. How cool would it be that when exploring uncharted space, the Normandy gets caught in a black hole or something? Or has first contact with an unknown species? The possibilities are huge.

If all that other guy wants are third-person shooting sequences, maybe he's got the wrong game. Go play MW2 or something.

Bioware missions have always been linear as ****, I don't see them getting new design direction now. Bank on their MMO if you want that.

/agree with everything else.

As far as the ship battles go, It's not something I absolutely need. However, WTF is the point in upgrading the ship at all if it never even goes into a battle!? In what point in the game did the normandy need what we upgraded?? at the end there was a short scene where we dodged something, and rammed through another something (trying not to spoil anything) and that was it. we never really used anything. The upgrades where mentioned, but used for like 15 seconds in an uncontrollable cutscene. Pointless to even upgrade it if you ask me. I'm just sayin that if we upgrade the ship, we should see what we accomplished. And as far as the MAKO, I really think it needs to come back. Everyone is saying that what was bad in ME1 shouldn't be in ME2, but really it was ME1 that was what got us into the trilogy. We all loved it, and just because something didn't work well, doesn't mean to completely take it out. The mako sucked driving, handled like crap, but that doesn't mean to remove it cuz it wasn't fun to drive. I duno. . . Maybe fix it? lawl. Make it drive like a regular car, and give it purpose. Fix the Inventory so that it's nice, don't completely remove it. Find the right balance. Not that hard, and as far as the long elevators go, I didn't mind them. It really gave the player a sense of immersion. You really felt like you always were a part of the game. Now we finish a mission and get some stupid ass mission log screen, and it's completely been removed.

Instead of taking out what was bad, why not improve it? The majority of us still like it, just think it could be improved.

-Mako

-Inventory

-Squad screen

-Not having to go into the menu to open up squad

-Crouching

Etc...

Here is what bothers me the most. Since in ME1 Shephard survived for everyone who played it, it was logical to make a game with him, that is ME2. However, in ME2 he dies for some players. Does it mean that in next game we wont be playing as Shephard? And for those who manages to keep him alive at the end of the ME2, he will only appear as NPC in ME3? If this is how it is going to be, the sequel will be disappointing, at least for me, since I really, REALLY like Shephard. If it is not the case, and commander comes back once again, than it is still going to be kinda sucky since it would mean that the game was not thought through well enough, unlike first two games. This is a real dilemma here, people. I hope guys in BioWare realize it and already thinking about it. My suggestion is for BioWare to ask players to download their savegames to their server, analyze it, figure out what was the most common outcome for Shephart, and then build the game based on it. Or even simpler, put it to vote.

It would be awesome if they made it a real monster of a game, like a good 40+ hours of story missions, i know that these games take ages to make and it will never happen, but one can still dream.... oh and it would be cool if you could have like 5 squad mates out in some missions that would be sweet.

How about having missions where you need two teams, and you actually control both teams. Control would switch back and forth at different points in the mission. This way you take control of another character.

Also, how about the option to sell off the minerals we don't need. I completely ran out of money, buying upgrades. I had finished all the regular missions except for going through the Omega 4 relay. The missions I picked up from the new worlds found from the new maps I bought only maxed out at 7500 credits per mission. You can't even buy a Space Hamster with that. Speaking of the Space Hamster, no exercise wheel?

I also found the citadel to be in some ways improved in other ways disappointing.

The level of detail for the wards was great and it felt like an actual place where people lived and worked instead.  In ME 1 it felt like a place people worked but it also felt very sterile. Kudos.

I was disappointed about the restricted access to other parts of the citadel though.  I'm hoping that's corrected in DLC.  I've seen a few people mention the Predium was restricted in ME 1 but I believe it was Citadel tower, not the Presidium as a whole that was heavily restricted.

I understand BioWare has finite resrouces and decisions had to be made but I really do hope it's opened up in future DLC.  I would have liked to see Shiara again and ask about the news story involving her.  I would have been interested in seeing some of the other embassies again and definitely revisiting the shadow dealer (broker?).

I also miss the Mako and for the record, I never complained about it because aside from its utter inability to handle steep terrain, I really enjoyed it.  The controls were crappy but it so what?  It reminded me of driving the Dodge Aries K in driver's ed.   I had fun with it.

OTOH, I also think it makes for better immersion to not have it because now you land on a smal protion of the planet do your thing and go.  Before there was theoretically a whole planet with usually a base of some kind, some debris and some minerals which didn't make sense to me.   I'm not sure sure how to reconcile those things, but I do miss having the Mako.

And on a stupid note, I didn't care about how the amor or casual clothes looked before, but now that we've made designing armor part of the game play, why can't we buy casual clothes in stores the way we do armor parts.  For that matter, why can't we dye casual clothes the way we do armor?  It's far down on my list of things but if you're going to introduce the game mechanic why not do something with it?  It's (slightly) more interesting to me than the fish.

And while we're on the subjec tof the fish, you've got Kelly, your personal assistant, and EDI, the VI brains of the ship and neither one can figure out that perhaps someone should feed the fish between missions because Shepard has more pressing matters to attend to?  To say nothing of the hamster that apparently neither eats nor eliminates.  Fish need to eat but hamsters don't?

I'm also in favor of going back to one button scanning.  If you're not  a completionist like I am it's not a big deal, but if you are it's a time sink.  I've actually dozed off a few times while doing it because a) I'm playing way too late far too often I'm sleep deprived and B) you don't need to do anything but hold down LT until the controller vibrates.  No actual attenion required.   So I finallly decided that I have way more minerals than I'll ever need.  I drop into orbit, see if there's an anomoly and launch a single probe when I hit an energy spike and take off.

I'm in the camp favoring character progression.   I'm going to up the difficulty on my next play through now that I'm comfortable with the mechanics.  But it's boring when none of the enemies are easier and very few are difficult in terms of anything but numbers.   Why have character levels at all if increasing them doesn't have any real affect on the game?  It feels monotonous after a while.  Geth is to Blue Sun is to Eclipse is to Collector.   I've heard people talk about strategy in brining other party members but even though I use other pary members' powers for more than my own there's not a lot of strategy to it.  Bring some one with overload and bring someone with incinerate and your'e covered for any eventuality.

I felt like the balance of powers was better in ME.  Now I bring along party members for A power, not the totality of what they can offer becasue the totality of what they can offer doesn't really matter.  Speaking of, Tali seems to be nearly useless against the geth, which makes no sense.  Why does she not have overload?  I know she has the AI override thing and the battle sphere but neither one seems to be nearly as effective as overload.

i pretty much agree with everything that "figuare9 "said

but let me add one VERY important thing- INTERACTIONS

i want to see a more in depth interaction system i mean in ME2 there are what about 4 different conversations u can have with each squad member and it always ends the same either u romance them and they repeat one sentece,

OR you reject them and they wont talk to you

i want it to be more like dragon age so that u can do quests for them, give them gifts, have loads of different conversations, your party talk amongst themselves disccusing everything from the last quest to one squad member being jealous of the other for sleeping with the player character- and like DAO if u cant decide on a relationship u can sleep with one and then simply like to the other and continue developing both relationships

One thing that I would like to see in ME3 is more interaction between your party members. A way to do this that comes to mind is some sort of "Compatibility" system where each party member has a certain level of compatibility with every other party member.

It would work like this:

The more compatible two party members are with each other, the better they will function when together in your group. Each pair would have a starting compatibility (Miranda & Jacob would be fairly high starting out because they worked together in Cerberus for a while, similar notion for Garrus & Tali; Tali and Legion would be pretty low starting out due to natural antagonism, etc) which could then be either boosted or reduced throughout play.

Using two people in a squad together boosts their compatibility.
Resolving disputes between two members in a good manner boosts their compatibility.
Resolving disputes between two squad members poorly drops their compatibility.
etc, etc.

One thing that I did miss from ME 1 was getting my ass kicked by Asari Commandoes using Stasis, and Warp on me. Those battles were awesome and a lot more challenging.

I would also like to see ambushes were I am attacked completely off guard. In ME2, I new I was about to be attacked because of all of the places to duck for cover. Remember in ME1, the mission where there was a distress signal on some planet. There was no cover, just a sloping landscape, there was nothing around and all of a sudden, red blips started appearing the the radar, as it was a Geth ambush.

Get rid of the 'End of Mission' screens that recap the stats of the mission I just completed. UGH! Way to kill the immerision factor Bioware! Why not just list this under the options where it can keep a tally of how many kills etc etc etc. In DA:0 there's a seperate page for all that. Please get rid of it, I feel like I'm playing friggin' Splinter Cell or some **** and not an immersive action/rpg.

I'll have to go with the ME1 inventory as it is right now. The idea and system with the inventory in ME2 was good, but when you only have two weapons to choose from per weapons class, except for heavy weapons, it kind dragged my inventory-experience (hmmm..) down. More customization and more upgrades & weapons for ME3 with the ME2 system would be ideal in my eyes :)

I was fine with being able to "end mission" after the end of a mission and be transferred back to the Normandy, but after playing BORDERLANDS, how interesting would it be to have to fight your way back to where you started the mission?

Let's say reinforcements were called while you are fighting your way to the mission objective, you would need to fight your way back, or how about the option to be picked up at an alternate pick up site, or call in reinforcements yourself. An option to choose a 2nd team to come in and help you out.

1) STORY IS PARAMOUNT

2) ROMANCE IS PARAMOUNT

3) WEAPONS OF ME2 RETURN

4) ARMOR OF ME1 RETURN(plus commando and archangel armor)

5) SCRAP SIDEQUESTS IF THEY INTERFERE WITH 1-4 ON LIST.

Bioware, if you manage to pull off 1-4 in EPIC fashion I will applaud you.
