another point i wanted to toss up, i think a lot of people will like it, especially if you play uncharted 2 or mgs4 or cod6 third-person:

1.instead of having both joystick clicks (r3 and l3) your objective locator, please make r3 a switch shoulder button.

2. and as i've previosly mentioned - more guns and armors/ armor pieces!

3. even more moves per character would be nice, but i do love the gameplay so don't change that at all (except for the switch your shoulder button - very necessary)

4. smaller planets should be smaller when scanning them.

5. make scanning better or add that idea previously mentioned about being able to raid other cruisers and steal resources and loot.

i know figuare9 said not to judge other people's ideas, but if you like an idea you hear just put it on your list again, that way bioware will have an idea of how many people want what. just don't talk smack to other people.

About conversations...

I have the feeling that in ME2 most conversations with crew members are centered around romance themes. It would be great if you would add non-romance conversations in such a way that a FemShep) (as an axample) can talk to Jacob without being forced into a romance and still have some interesting topics to discuss. Don't get me wrong... I don't want less romance conversations, I just want to have normal conversations as well. The two or 3 default topics are really not enough. I have the feeling that ME1 had more topics and that they were refreshed after each major event. I want that back. It gives depth to the characters.

What I really loved was to be able to talk to the crew after major events. I would also love to have some more conversations in a group form after major events. We see some of those in ME2, but they are really a bit short. In ME1 we sometimes saw conversation before events (like the landing on Ilos). That also drove the tension up. It added to the atmosphere. Please consider doing that more.

:)

This.

ME1 had too many (and largely pointless cosmetic changes with little really variation other than stats).

ME2 has too few (though upgrading is great and it's on the right track having different sub categories of weapons have different strengths/weakensses - ie heavy pistol (power, low ammo) vs regular pistol (rate of fire, high ammo)

also agree about adding valid points noticed along the way just to get an idea of which ones people find worth exploring.

Totally agree with this as well.   Friendships should be able to develop as much as romances.

I'm only adding a "me too" to the points I think are vital. Your other points aren't bad, but I don't see them affecting gameplay one way or the other

Well, except for planet scanning, but I think that whole thing needs an overhaul, not just a tweek for smaller planets. Of all the mini-games in ME2, that's the only one that I would call weak. Hacking and Bypassing never got old, and did a great job of making you feel like you were actually hacking or bypassing systems (even though it's just a silly mini game).

Scanning and probing, however, got old FAST. Weakest aspect of the whole game. But tracking anomolies was fine.

The Angry Joe Show has a great review of the game, and doesn't shy away from its flaws

http://angryjoeshow.com/?p=6429

Joe's suggestion to help scanning - add "Fog of War" so you know what you've scanned.

Awesome topic. Totally agree we need the inventory back (minus omni-gel), looting and modular weapon/armor upgrades like in ME1. Also, specialized ammo should not be a power. Bring it back as a mod accessible to everyone.

Only thing I'd have to say would be make differentiate the walk cycles and some of the movements between male and female characters. It's a bit odd to have female characters walk like men. ^^ Make the movements a bit more fluid. And make planet scanning less painful.

Other than that, was very satisfied with the second game. You guys are doing great and hope to see ME3 not to far off into the future.

Something I would really enjoy seeing in ME3 would be some recurring NPC's on side missions. I could see Shepard coming across a rival Spectre trying to steal his or her limelight and causing problems on missions. The opposite could be said as well; more Spectres to help you out without actually being members of your team. A small band of mercenaries or bounty hunters would be great too. I'm a bit disappointed in coming across Blue Suns Leader #'s 8, 9, and 10. I would like NPC's with names and back stories in the codex.

I would really like to see the option to discover the remnants of another lost civilisation. There are descriptions of these places, so it's not like they don't 'exist' so to speak.

In addition, let us revisit some of the places from ME1 to see how things have changed.

Please...I beg of you BioWare!! The galaxy is a huge place full of possibilities...I don't just want to kill mercs and read datapads. :crying:

one thing i would like to see is your class specialization effect dialogue choices and par/ren interupts. I think it would be cool to be acknowleged as something other than a soldier. other than that: earth as an explorable planet, more armor customization, and some new weapon color schemes, or patterns. also i think it would be cool if you could get different factions such as the migrant fleet or the krogan clans to fight with you in some kind of final confrontation, also more than just credits when you hack a datapad or bypass a wall safe.

It's a trilogy...of course the third game is the ending... If not it wouldn't be  trilogy.

I also support this!  :-D

An example of what I thought was a good friendship that was developed in another game: In DA the female Warden/Morrigan friendship I thought this was especially well written.

Another signed for walk animations. I thought Tali's walk cycle was kinda awkward and most of the alien walks suffered a bit.

Also: minor quibble, the clipping gets pretty insane at some places. It doesn't happen that often, but when it strikes it ends up with a squaddie floating about the level or walking on air etc.

Yes! Getting called a Meatbag in Mass Effect would be freakin' stellar!!!

I think it would be really cool if part of Allying with the Quarians meant taking back there homeworld! In my opinion, it's sort of hinted at and stuff (dark energy i think?) it would just feel like a great accomplishment to me.

Legion has a chance to be a very cool character next game. The whole reprogramming the Heretics thing opens up quite a bit of story to be told. Perhaps the Geth will redeem themselves? On a sidenote, maybe the same can happen with the Rachni?

No set classes, You get to chose Four powers at the start plus one bonus power when you beat the game. Weapon wise you get  the pistol and any two of the other weapons plus half way through the game you get one of your weapons  a major Upgrade.

Tali and Garrus Romance Continue into ME3, no writing them out or cameos.  And lets finally see whats under those helmits and collars.

Returning Characters  Kal Reegar(squadmate and romance please), Gianna Parasini, Shiala.  I want to meet Admiral Hackett.

Need the Option to Skip Opening Cinematic and Splash Screens and get right to character creator if you want to so we aren't sitting for half an hour every time we want to make a new character.  Need the ability to see your character when you create them and have them move around in normal light to test them out so you can be content with the look.  That way you won't have to waste another half hour if you want to go back and change the look.

Would like to see More Squademate Interaction on Normandy/missions/Cutscenes etc.  I want to see more friendships/rivalries within the squad.  Would be cool if peole actually walked around the Normandy.  Maybe you could 'page' them if you needed to talk to them.

Would like to be able to give Squadmate Fomation Commands and Postures.  Simple things like "take point", "stay behind me", "stay next to me".   Squadmates need to have their behavior change based on the type of weapon they have equipped.  Example:  shotgun = get up close and personal and Sniper Rifle = stay at max range.  Need to make it so squadmates can open doors on their own.  Be nice to command Squadmates into Agressive or Defensive postures.  That way if one is close to dieing you can tell them to get out of the fight and regen instead of knowing you will have to revivte them in a minute or so.

Cover System needs a way of Vaulting over Obsticals without entering into it first.  I would shave alot of seconds off on Garrus's mission if I could just vault all those obsticals instead of cover, vault, cover, vault, cover, vault.

Love the Armor/Weapon Customization in ME2.  Would love that to be Expanded with more patterns and shapes.  Would also love more types of weapons and be able to customize look of weapons.  ME2 did not have clear stat breakdown of different weapons.  Would like to always know the stats of my equipped weapon in comparison to old weapons and other weapons, based on your current talents.

Character Creator needs a major Upgrade.  Many options create facial structures that are not natural.  I feel it needs most of its values reset and overhauled.  I missed the facial scar options.  Would love tatoos or more intense makeup.

Paragon/Renegade choices be more Neutral Friendly.  I want the choice of being a badass or hero, I don't like it being greyed out if I went to far in the other direction.  I like being able to be a badass but still be able to value my squadmates.

Ammo Supply Rebalance Felt it was a bit lite.  I do like the new heat clip gameplay device.  I just felt not enough enemies dropped ammo.

Longer Missions felt some of the missions were a bit short.  Perhaps can add more content within missions as difficulty increases.

Make Military History/Profile have its own Missions like in ME1.  Didn't like how they were totally sidelined in ME2.  I feel those facts and Cerberus/Spectre/Alliance leanings should be a serious part of the story.

Would like the ability to Name your Saved Games.

Would like to be able to Reassign Squadmates Talents like you can your own.  Also need some place on the Normandy where you can assign squadmate talent points.

FEMALE ALIENS

This is going to be long ... I think.

- Better AI(team control, commands, etc.): Maybe it is just me but my two teammembers always try to do something stupid and screw up, be it running in the enemy, disappearing, leaving cover even with low health so that they get shot down etc. Doesn't matter much on normal difficulty but playing 'Insane' made me shout and curse at them alot and I always ended up doing it on my own ...

- More 'quality playtime' (not boring stuff like ressource grind): ME2 was the shortest Bioware RPG for me so far ...
and I am having the feeling they get shorter every time

- more interaction with npc, as in more quests, and interation events between crew/shepard and crewmember/crewmember -> it is very well done in ME2 already but still like garrus:check. Tali:check, Grunt:check, etc. there could be alot more going on on the Normandy than just everyone standing or sitting in their place waiting for shepard to turn up and bother them while they are busy

- more rp moments during missions, for example giving shepard the choice to 'save' teammates or teammates saving shepard (if they like him/her) or rescue missions, in a war or battle there is much more to comradry than just having nice chats

- more missions like the suicide mission where actually the whole team is involved and not only 3/10, in DA:O the final battle you had to take over the group at gates one time. It just doesn't make alot of sense to me that a missions fails with three people and you have 7 sitting on the normandy playing online poker or something

- after ME2 Shepard should finally own the Normandy, I never liked to always be her someone else's ship (either the Alliance or Cerberus)

- Kids. Maybe I just forgot but I don't remember kids in ME. I want to see little Krogans, Salarians, Turians, etc. inhabiting the world as well.

We need compromises, not one side stuff
  • Thermal clips and passive cool down
  •   The codex explained it, however on harder levers, its annoying trying to find more thermals anywhere
  • Spectre Gear, well this pretty much explaines itself
  • Stats on the weapons, although the concept which how some guns fired is an idea to improve upon
  • Loot system, but please.....please when there's more than one item that is the same, just add at the end of the item times(X) amounts of the item
  • Improvements on the gun, add ons, like added thermal clip count, etc.....but there will be SQUAD (you and the entire team) research upgrades
  • Stats for Shepard as of ME2 is good.....but only in combat, let there be a separate stats for others like paragon and renagade points
  • Customation of Shepard, the armor and the squads armor.......color=/= different armor
i Could continue on, but i wont:wizard:

itd be cool in ME3 like you could customize your wepons like you find scrapes of wepons on planets and once u get enouph parts you can make the wep into a shotgun pistol etc. you can change the color the barrel type and how big it is and like the better the scraps the more it costs to customize the wepons.
