It might also be an idea to add some puzzles into the game - something that really made you think before you could complete a mission. The kind you might need a walkthrough for :P Puzzles worked well in the Jedi Knight series, which admittedly isn't an rpg but still. Added to the game quality. It could be done - KOTOR had puzzles..

IMO they need to flesh out the other species of the game, namely The Krogan and Quarians. compared to what we know about asari, there isnt that much info about those races which is a shame because they are really interesting,

Better facial textures, the characters always have a blank stare, in Modern Warfare 2 it at least looks like the faces look like they have feeling. Also, the Hammerhead and scanning needs to be in ME3, with a choice between scanning a planet and driving the Hammerhead around.

I'd like to have the choice of selling resources for credits and I would like to be able to bring my pet Varren aboard the Normandy. Kind of made me sad when I left Tutchanka and I had to leave Urz behind.

Generally I LOVE the cover combat system and ME2 in general. However as a regular joe here are my thoughts on what disturbed me about the game...

1. what I didn't like was the extremely sparse weapon/armor customization system, so few pieces to work with, it was a bit of a downer. I know you were compensating for ME1's overloaded ammo mod system but you just went to the other extreme of barely any customization at all, here what is needed is a balance between the two systems in both games.

2. Also I would like more of the main overarching Reaper plot to be emphasized more heavily in ME3. I feel with ME2 the plot was great but its kind of just chasing the collectors and finding out they're backed by reapers. The side missions and finding out every party member's background in separate missions is great but there needs to be more plot twists and revelations! More lore on maybe the creators of the reapers and their motives. Basically a "thicker" plot. more of the main plot in general done suspensfully with more complexity and twists along the way

3. Bring BOTH the resource scanning and Mako methods into ME3. this way you will shutup the fanboys of either method who want it implemented in the game, and the game will be more fleshed out as a result (you can feel the atmoshpere of the planet in the mako, but also appreciate how small it is by launching scanner probes)

4. I WANT LIARA BACK AS A LOVE INTEREST! seriously she was my love in the first and you made her so cold to me in the 2nd...

That is all. :wizard:

MOAR PYJAKS!!!!!!!!!!! seriously.

And i really want to see Tali's face.

There is no need for more a lot more squadies. I want ME1 squadies and maybe some new ones. It would make sense if some of the ME2 squadies left since some of them state they will leave lol I definetely want to keep Mordin, Jacob, Tali, Garrus and hell. Maybe even Miranda. Seems like she'd go running back to TIM though. Those guys just seem the most likely to stick around. Maybe Legion but I'm iffy about his character. MAYBE a new alien race but that would be a little puzzling.

More crew and squad conversations. I KNOW YOU'RE CALIBRATIN' GARRUS BUT YOU STILL CAN TALK!

I really want to see either the Quarians and Geth go to war or just make peace. Be like pre ME1 where the Geth left everyone alone so long as they left the geth alone.

Squadies seemed really quiet during missions too :/

I'd really like to see Shepard try to find a cure for the Quarians as a whole. I mean they have to have tech evolved enough to permently boost immune systems.

AlbertoAquilani wrote...

-Side missions expanded, less planets, more content. I'd rather have 4 or 5 planets with a lot of content rather 20 or so planets with light content. Or perhaps integrate more side-quests into the main planets, like KOTOR.
-ME 1 LIs to have a much bigger role in it, as well as ME 2 LIs. I don't think there should be anymore new ones so that in ME 3 they focus on the relationships you built in the first two. Also, if someone romanced someone in both games, there's a chance for the character to choose who they want etc. Like I romanced Miranda in ME 2 and Ashley in ME 1, so I want to know if there's a chance I can go back to Ashley.
-Get rid of planet-scanning, focus on gathering resources while you're doing missions like ME 2 but without the scanning.
-Keep the crew you have in ME 2, with the possibility of recruiting a few more. I know a few will most likely leave, but if they do, then we can recruit some more. Hopefully Ashley and Wrex are recruitable.
-More City / HUB planets, like Illium, maybe a bit larger. They did this very well in ME 2, they can expand on this and have more planets. Earth would be a good choice.
-Integrate the Hammerhead into ME 3. I think ME 2 DLC is a starting point, so they can build it up for ME 3.
-More powers for each class, and allow us to salvage more armours.
-Even bigger emphasis on choices, allow us to choose to work for Alliance or Cerberus, each with different outcomes to the universe at the end of the game.
-Please keep loyalty missions, these were among the best things of ME 2.
-No more mission complete screens, and no more going back to the Normandy after a mission, so I definitely agree on that one.
-A minor suggestion, but I'd like a casino back in the game. I loved the areas, but they could have done with something like Flux, where you got to play Quasar. Also Citadel needs to be bigger, and more diverse. Give us back the Presidium aswell please!
-Back to a more electronic / ambient soundtrack like ME 1.
-More areas to the Normandy, upgrade it slightly.
-Better balance, I mean, for instance, I'm not too keen with the shoot-a-thons like Purgatory and Korlus.

Yes to the large majority of what you said. ESPECIALLY The electronic soundtrack, loyalty missions, Casino, City/hub (although four, yes i count tuchunka, hub words is PRETTY GOOD hur hur), work for the Alliance/ cerberus or just plain spectre, more powers, and the Love interest thing (I don't need anymore. just Tali).

the data i created is used in the same fasion as
http://www.gamefaqs....le/944907/58941

add a Chaingun Heavy weapon
i/e this... http://www.q4o.nl/im...un/chaingun.jpg
M-289 Juno | Damage:30 | ArmorMod:1.5 | BarrierMod:1.25 | ShieldMod: 1.15 | ROF: 600(Cold) 1100(Warmed) | Capacity: 600 | Recoil: 2 | Recoil(Zoomed):1.5 | Error 1.3-2.3(Cold) 2.4-6.6(Warmed) | Error(Zoomed) 0.2-1.1(Cold) 1.8-4.4(Warmed)

would take a few seconds to warm up once you start fireing. once its warmed it will fire much faster but much less accurate. if you stop fireing while its warmed it will continue to spin at warmed speed for a few seconds before "cooling"
would be not as effect as the collector beam at extreme ranges and not as killer as the Firestorm extremely close up.. but would be useful in many more situations than those 2 due to its vaired ability. i think it would be sweet... would use the heavy weapon powercells to power the multi mass effect Fields in the barrels and the spinning would tie in with a cooling system to allow constant fireing.

anyways thats my blurb

I'm sure that others have said this but more rpg please. Look at what you did with DA:O and repeat the style, rpg heavy, long quest chains with spectacular areas ( dungeons / complexes ) that take more than ten minutes to get through.

It's funny how both Dragon Age and Mass Effect took very different approaches to their game, but both could learn something from the other.

One wish only: Keep the game engine and graphics.

Mass Effect I and II are in my opinion the most beautifully rendered sci-fi games to date. They play like a big silver screen movie and the one thing mass effect III could ruin would be to engage into a radically different game engine experiment.

I am still on my first run through with part II, but I will start an all new character for part I once I am finished.

Mass Effect 2 was a great game, but it can be better in Mass Effect 3. I have some idea for ME3:

Weapon Customization: ME2 weapon upgrade system are pretty good, but it can be improve. I was thinking about a Army of Two the 40th day weapon customization system in the game. But the gun part was to be "future likes" in the game(energy riot shield, under-berral flamethrower,...). It will be better if we can get our hands on some "exculsive" gun part form the Geth,Turian,Asari,..

Better combat:The combat in Mass Effect 2 was great too, but it still miss come thing. It will be good to see a blind fire system and some finishing move will be cool.

Better Normandy upgrade: I will be better if the upgrade acually effect the game play(missile pod upgrade will give you the abillity to call missile strake,...) instead of just work in the ending.

more side quest: ME2 side quest was fun but not much, I hope it will be more side quest in ME3.

More boss fight: The boss fight in ME2 is pretty easy, I hope the boss fight will be improve in ME3.

My wishes for ME3 are as follws:

1. Don't set it up where we HAVE to do a certain mission at a certain time. I mean the first mission being manditory is fine but after that let us choose when to go and do things. I hate it when I had to go to the collector's ship when I wanted to get my team together first.

2. Bring back the old armor styles/types just having the N7 is pretty lame and the upgrades you can buy for it don't really do a whole lot. When it comes to the DLC armor have it where we can customize it as well like change the color or be able to take off the stupid helmet.

3. If your gonna keep the planent scanning system then give us something that tells us what the planent has in it before we start looking. Instead of just saying Ritch, good, etc. let us know what minerals are there. It got very frustrating when I'm looking for Platinum and kept running into "ritch" planents that only had Palladium and Iridium in it.

4. More Gun options... only having two or three types of each gun is a little cheap we want more variety like ME1 offered or if your going to keep the same types of guns let us customize them in some way that actually affects the gun and not just aesthetically.

5. Make sure we have the option of bringing back our Love Interest in the first Mass Effect back on our squad... it may not have to be a definite thing but at least give us the option to do it Cause the Love Interests of ME1 kind of got shafted in ME2.

Those are my opinions and hope they help in some way... Overall it was a great game and had some good improvements I hope the third one continues the trend.

This seems to be the "official" thread so might as well say it here too:

1. How about some non-heavy/non-massive armor for Shepard? Only one class could wear heavy in ME 1, and most people aren't visually "used to" heavy armor for their Sheps, and may not want it. (I sure don't). Bring back light/medium, or at least medium. Even if only "visually"---just have some options that don't have huge shoulder pauldrons and massive neck braces all around. Those 2 bits alone would be enough to "slim down" the bulky ME 2 armor.  This could basically be expanded to "more custom armor options".  ME 1 actually had more armor options IMHO--fewer colors, but more designs.  L, M, and H versions of several different styles.  Color's nice, but I'd rather have more choice of shapes/designs.  (and less-bulky boots, too---EVERY leg option other than basic N7 has HUGE bulky boots---does not work on FemSheps, and doesn't even look that good on ManShep either IMHO)  I wouldn't have as many issues with the current armor if it wasn't already even heaviER than ME 1's heavy armor was.  If it was DA:O, the new N7 armor wouldn't be classed as heavy, it'd be in the massive category.

2. Armor choices for party members. (or at least, more than just a recolor)
3. FemShep had much better walk/run animations in ME 1. Bring those back.
4. An asari commando squad member.
5. Adepts should have much more powerful skills, faster cooldowns, non-shared cooldown, or a mix of the above. They were seriously nerfed. Or make it so that shields and armor aren't very resistant to any biotic. (really, why would armor affect pull or lift or throw etc?)
6. I also liked the camera position better in ME 1, it was further away, could see more.
7. For missions/gameplay---I liked how ME 1 was more open. You could even do Virmire THEN get Liara. ME 2 is moderately open but still "grouped"---I really would like to get Samara or Tali first etc.
8. Maybe a unique gun for adepts? Expand on the warp ammo idea---have a warp gun or something. No matter what, adepts will still need to use guns. (unless they are extremely improved in ME 3 and singularity can kill whole groups or something)

Mild Spoilers ahead. Fair warning. Nothing major however so dont fret.

Customization
Yes so far it was nice what you could customize on your personal Armor, however the Options are severely limited and most hardly fit a special Playstyle. For example there are no +Biotic/+Tech Power Legparts or Gloves. Add more customization options for the armor, more unique and different components instead of releasing "as is" DLC Armors. Which would also be a plus for ME2 if that would be done now as well. Maybe even add Customization options for other Squadmates, as the System is there already. Or for a Vehicle, or the Ship itself (Shepard's Cabin)

Exploration
Add some more Exploration. No i do not mean Vehicle Passages over a empty Landscape or scanning every inch of a Planet. Give us some direct insight into other Cultures and Races. Show us the Turian Homeworld, or Earth, or the Asari Homeworld. Or maybe just some random Colony of them. If ME3 is to be the last, then i would at least want to know more about them than we already do, after all it would be pointless to just stuff Aliens in there if the whole Focus is just on Humans, could have used generic Grey Guys for that too.

Ship Combat
We get all these nice Upgrades for the Normandy but they are hardly used except once and even then the only Impact they have is if you installed them or not. You can not actually fly the Normandy or help at all, its basicly just a Cutscene. At least let us get the feeling we are doing something in that Time. Especially if the Reapers arrive i would expect at least a few Space Battles, after all the Reapers are basicly just giant Ships.

Choices
Make choices count apart from being Paragon or Renegade. It should have some Impact if i wiped out some Group or Race or saved them in the End. In ME2 Shepard recruits a Team, maybe in ME3 all the Choices from ME1 and ME2 are counted as to which Races/Factions join your side to battle the Reapers. If possible, please add Quests to perhaps get more Races to join. Just "letting the Council" do it would be a cheap way out. Wouldnt really feel like you accomplish anything, you cant really go toe-to-toe with a Reaper, at least not on foot.

War
The War with the Reapers that is coming should be felt throughout the Game, not just be dealt with in the last few Hours of the Game. The Geth and the Collectors were hardly threatening in either ME1 or ME2 respectively even though they were hyped to be the really bad Guys. They dont stalk you, they dont randomly attack you, its like they wait for Shepard to come to them instead. I dont want the whole Galaxy to look like a giant Battlefield of course, but it should have Impact and not just People going on with their lives while their Neighbour Planet gets "eaten" by some metallic Spacemonster for example.

Tie up loose Ends
The whole Story around Dark Energy for example. Or Shiala, why is she green, can it be cured or will she turn into a new Thorian kind of thing? What happens to the Geth ultimately? And to the Quarians? Since you do have some Impact on their general outlook in ME2. Will they ever resolve their Problems or are they just going to keep "hating" each other forever?

Give us a Antagonist
The Reapers are the big baddies. Everyone should by now know that. But they arent really seen much, they fight through other Groups but never directly in the open so far. However Shepard could hardly directly fight a Reaper, they just arent humanoid-sized. That would be like throwing pebbles at a giant, at best you will only annoy it. In ME1 we had Saren as a Goal, a character we wanted to reach and then surpass to end his Plans. This is somewhat missing in ME2, as the Collectors are not directly focused on as much. Give us some Character, preferably someone we already know that will lead the Reapers on the Ground, someone Shepard can actively fight against.

Plottwists
Maybe Shepard ultimately gets caught by the Reapers and made their Agent. At which point the Player would have the Choice to either aid them (although not in a "we wipe everything out" manner) or fight their plans even though they may have done some "work" on him. This is not really a Wish more a Suggestion actually, but it would give the Player the feeling that it all depends on your Choices ulimately how the Game ends. And not just like ME1 and ME2 were you are always the "good guy" even though you can be a jerk or a saint while still being good. There is no real difference in those options as you are practically forced to finish the Game as a "Hero" regardless of Alignment, you cant be evil at all, sure you can be a jerk but thats about it.

Ammo System
Is generally fine, but please for the love of god, just add a auto-refill option of Heatsinks in the Normandy. I dont want to have to shoot myself empty (very easy on insanity) and go to the next mission with no ammo.

Somehow firing ammo is considered to be a skill and the firing of the gun itself is not.  This doesn't make sense at all. The skill status should be removed and ammo should be taken for what it really is: An upgrade. That would also remove the illogical prerequisites for some ammo types.

Put back in all the unlockable bonus talent options from ME1, so I can make a Vanguard with Singularity or Warp, a Infiltrator with Overload or Cryo, a Sentinel with Singularity, etc. Limiting the bonus talents to squad unlockables talents was the biggest mistake you made and kills replay-ability.

Limiting the skill trees so much just made this problem worse and please take away ammo type as a skill talent, or if not, add 2-3 more skills for main character and squad. Infiltrator is un-playable to me in ME2, with only Hacking and Incinerate, with the above mentioned lack of variety of bonus talents.

Sequels are suppose to be bigger and better, limiting bonus talents was a huge step back. First time I felt let down by Bioware for less features and for the way you developed the story of having to work for Cerberus(sequel story in general).

Having only 1 real set of armor for Shepard without DLC was also a diss and so was the lack of realistic armor/helmets in space for the squad. Its fine if you want to micro sell a ton of DLC items like armor & weapons, but at least put more than 1 "in the box", for non internet gamers. There's alot or rural areas left, with no access, and these people should not be forgotten.

Bring back the Spectres and the Alliance, return the robust skill trees and bonus talents, and let me hunt down and destroy Cerberus.

  • Visiting the home-worlds of the various species in the game (turians, volus, salarians etc.) Maybe you have to visit them to rally support for the upcoming battle with the Reapers?
  • Better knowledge and awareness of other Spectres.
  • Rejoin the Alliance, Cerberus affiliation depends on choices made at the end of ME2.
  • No more recruiting. You found the best of the best in ME1 and ME2, now it is time to use them.
  • Garrus' father - should be interesting especially if you romanced him and because he doesn't like Spectres.
  • Miranda's father.
  • More Wrex please but not as squadmate. I liked what Wrex was trying to do on Tuchanka.
  • More squad banter and dialogue - especially from Garrus. I felt that he was quite neglected in terms of dialogue.
  • Omega's atmosphere was stunning and beautiful. It will be on my mind for years to come. Keep this in mind when designing more places like Omega's Afterlife bar.
  • Ship probe capacity starts way too low - IMO should start at 100, upgrades to 200 (only if scanning comes back).
  • Fuel amount exactly the same, start at 1500, upgrade to 3000?
  • Both these suggested probe and fuel capacity amounts are simply the maximum. The player decides exactly how much to buy of each, with these values being the maximum. The maximum in ME2 is too low for both probes and fuel.
  • A convert mineral system. Works like the currencies we use today. Some minerals will convert into large amounts of another mineral, some will convert into a smaller amount (ANY MINERAL to EEZO) etc.
  • Combat arena so that I can satisfy my battle urges after I have beaten the game.
  • Bring back crouch.
  • Bring back double-clicking on buttons.
  • Bring back PC keyboard shortcuts to Journal, Squad Screen etc.
  • PC power menu should go from 1-0, not 1-8. ME1 got this right, ME2 unnecessarily simplified the PC controls/interface.
  • Space bar should not have 3 functions - separate sprint/interact/power menu.
  • Move, while reloading, while in cover.
  • A heck of a lot more heatsinks carried - especially for sniper rifles and shotguns.
  • No 3D view of the Galaxy Map from the ship's perspective - I want to see where I am going and this isn't a space-flight sim.
  • No difficulty achievements. They are a waste of space and show no originality and imagination.
  • Let us help you on deciding for a boxart. Do what the devs of Spider-Man: Web of Shadows did - have multiple boxarts on the website and you vote for the one you like the most.
  • Skipping through lines of dialogue (X for 360 and SPACE for PC) should not select dialogue options. It's annoying when you skip through conversations only to accidentally choose a dialogue that you didn't want.
  • Do not bring back that system of not being able to resolve conflicts without enough Paragon/Renegade. Instead, just go for a 'middle' option.

I liked how Mass Effect 2 avoided the inventory system because I hate staring at menus - just let me play the game.

I also liked how there were less useless skills, such as Fitness, Health, First Aid, Armour and all the different weapon skills. Think about it: take away all those ridiculous weapon skills and you will get less skills to manage and invest in - that's a great deal better than Mass Effect 1's system. Paragon and Renegade were merged with another skill, so that's 3 skills in 1 skill - better because I don't have to keep alternating between the two just to get access to more speech options.

Look at this image to see the ridiculous amount of skills in Mass Effect 1: http://screenshot.xf...1456b8bf43d.jpg

I, for one, am glad they simplified and condensed the skills for Mass Effect 2.

Regarding the Citadel's locked down state in ME2: I prefer it this way. I can't get lost anymore, nor do I pointlessly travel from one end to the other. If more areas are to be available, make it so that they are only accessible via the fast travel station.

For me a button to run and jump on the PC without crouching would be nice.

If you are a specific unit I would like to see either a choice of clothing for my squad or at the least the ability to colour it to match mine. Using the tint and pattern colour would be a possible option. Finally I don't want the idea of shepard dying heroically to save the universe as an ending.

Something else I noticed that really bothered me for a game in this day and age. Although the graphics are beautiful, water puddles should both ripple when stepped in and make a noise as you walk through it. Instead the squad glides over top of these as if it is ice.

For me I cheated on Ashley i want to be able to tell her I cheated on her because of the fact that she accused me of being a traitor and how she seemed to resent me because of it regardless of her email.

I really do hope that at the end of the game before the credits we will be able to see what our Sheps will be doing in the future kinda like what happened in DAO after you beat the game the game told you what happened to the other characters as well as your character, I want to know whether they will have kids with their Li's, did our Sheps try for the council or retired or just vanished into the traverse with the Li's or by themselves.
