ME3 should end at ME3 and should not continue and go down hill (Becuase it will) and ruin the game name. So many movies and games have had there name ruined after going on to far.
The Mako was a pain in the ass and planet roaming should never be allowed back. Vehicles are good planet roaming is not.
Just a few points disagreed on.

I think he's earned it, having saved the universe twice and all his C-Sec work, not to mention all the "bad" people he got rid of on Omega.

When it comes to the female commander shepards body form they should have kept the body form from the first mass effect 1 and not that body form in Mass effect 2. Hopefully going to se the body form of female sherpard from mass effect 1 in mass effect 3.
Her armor is quite generous in the chest department, but in casual clothes it appears she lost something during Lazarus...

This idea is not an old concept, a similar concept was used on the Sci-fi broadcast television show SeaQuest DSV. Those probes moved about the bow of the ship and scanned objects of interest, they also provided targeting data back to the ship and light weapons/electronic defensive capabilities. The probes on SeaQuest DSV were called "Whiskers" because they move about the front of the ship...and some acronym that I cannot remember...

Non-Shepard Romances. Its nice that the captain can get some action but it be nice to see your crew also get some romance time. (That sounded better in my head then out loud) like if you used certain characters and they became more involved in discussions they will ask you for advice on how to approach the other.
Also more Kal'Reegar, he was an awesome character and perhaps even an Hanar character not so much as a party member but perhaps someone on the ship you can interact with and finally learn the Soul name off.
Let us visit the homeworlds. While I can see a final confrontation happening on earth for a game of such an epic scale it be interesting to visit Palaven, Thessia and many of the other homeworlds for the races we interact with in the first two games. We've seen the Migrant Fleet and Tuchanka it be nice to see the rest.

IF the Quarians somehow get a chance to get a Council seat (either through proving their valor against the Reapers or Shepard's influence), then make Kal'Reeger the first Quarian Spectre, cause you know that among all the Quarian Marines and Machinists, he's that good. I mean, if he can survive by himself against a platoon of Geth and a Colossus long enough for Shepard to be able to rescue Tali, then he definitely fulfills the requirement of being elevated above the rank and file. Plus he uses heavy weapons

2)Bigger Hubs
3)More Side quests
4)SPACE BATTLES FTW!!!!
5)Cast from ME1 capable for being squadmates/part of the plot in any way.
6)No more bland, underdeveloped human characters! I don't care if it's a trend to have a male human accompany you first, followed by a female. For some reason they are always the WORST characters(Miranda was ok). Just because they're human that means we have to relate to them or something Bioware?
7) Liara's Romance actually progressing(I know that they are releasing a dlc for this, but I can't stress it enough). One of the reasons for playing mass effect 2 for me was to meet Liara and advance the relationship with my shepard and her. What do I get? 2 pointless "fetch-it" missions and a very limited amount of dialogue. :-(

1. Much, much, MUCH more party dialog (char development, relationship development) even if this means fewer total party members. This makes the game come alive for me. I spend a lot of time running around the Normandy checking to see if my crew has something new to say to me, and I like it a lot when they do! (I regret those load times between decks when I find they've got nothing new to say!) And yes, more NPC to NPC interaction: I did appreciate the NPC interactions in which tensions came to a head for certain party members. Well done, more please.
2. More random encounters, more missions. I'll feel like the galaxy is a truly nifty place if I encounter more events/colonies/people with agendas while I make my way through it. I was still raring to take on more non-plot-related missions by the time I was faced with advancing the story.
3. More things to spend my credits and resources on. I'll mind scrounging for credits and elements less if I'm saving up for something awesome.

1. All characters (that aren't dead) from ME1 and ME2 should return and be recruitable, although I don't
know how Zaeed would work as bioware has to assume that everyone had him.
2. All recruitable party members should be able to become romanced
3. Any romance that occured in ME1 and ME2 should carry over into ME3 and there should be LI dialogue throughout the game. (this is a given)
4. The side missions in ME2 seemed of higher quality than the side missions in ME1 but there weren't enough of them add more.
5. Multiple endings as in more than just a paragon ending and a renegade ending, hopefully multiple endings based on all the choices made in ME1, 2, and 3
6. Vehicles, either keep the upcoming hammerhead in ME3 or bring back an upgraded mako OR keep both just don't remove vehicles altogether.
7. More paragon and renegade dialogue interrupts
8. And of course the "AH YES REAPERS" dialogue choice.

Personally, I think ME 3 would be like a total war as the reapers are pushing hard into the universe. Estimated play time 80hrs: 60hrs for prepparation and the last 20hrs will be massive, intensive battles range from air, land, sea and space. The outterim star systems will be the first targets. As now the galaxy has been alerted for the reaper's invasion so it gonna be hard for them to attack directly. Therefore, attacking in waves and coming in several directions would be a good tactic. So, we can have many battles and also face critical decisions too, Shepard is just one and with his only Normandy or with a fleet so players have to choose which battle to join or to save which strategic point. Of course there will be help from the alliance, council and cerberus but one of them will turn their back on Shepard and the rest at a certain point. Then we have more strategic decisions to make because there are two fronts now. All the choices from ME 1 and ME 2 will be exploited in this next ME. For example, the help of the racni to build bases or help the citadel as the keepers have gone crazy now.Vehicles: aircraft- not only the gunship but more type of aircraft. It would be a costly way to fight with the cruisers as they are hard to manuver( Normandy SR1 for instance). Spacecrafts would do better(I'd like to see some like the vipers in BSG). Tanks, like some we see in ME 2 and ships on sea(I find ME 2 a little dry as there is very little water comparing to ME 1). Players can carry, beside the shuttle, 1 air-spacecraft and 1 tank on the Normandy and will be able to upgrade or purchase or exchange for a new ones. Beware, because now the weight of the Normandy will be put in account: carry too much(all heavy vehicles)>>hard to manuver in battles>>>more damage. Carry light vehicles>>>hard to fight on land or air. More choices, right?
Mineral scanning: we can trade them or use them for our own but there is weight there so choices again. When use minerals for upgrade make the upgrade usable. I heard some pple complain that the upgrade for Normandy is not helpful in ME2. So this time beside upgrading, minerals will be used for repairing the ship. After a battle the ship will be damage then we need it repaired. Minerals will be required along with money. We can use our own mined minerals for repairing or buy them from the shipyard( more money). So trading skills will be in ME 3 as there are many things to buy and sell.
Dailogue options: keeping the six options is fine for me but mix them up. In ME 2 we can easily know that the top choice will be for paragon and the bottom one is for renegrade. Action option instead of the click action. In ME 1 we can see a lot action options, those in "[....]", but only one at Tali court in ME 2, as far as I know(may be I miss some whereelse but no matter).Make use of the "investigate" option, as we investigate more we can have more main options to choose or way to complete missions.
Space battle: when in battle the table that display Normandy status in ME 2, the one in front of the galaxy map will turn in to a 3D tactical map. There will be some quick options for the players. Moreover, there will be a tool menu for manual tactic. You guys help me out, I don't know what should be in the menu. Players can setup a course-setting waypoint then excute it. EDI will inform you whether it is a good tactic or not but the choice is yours.
And all of the suggestions from you guys so far in this thread such as ME 1 and 2 LI, characters.
BW please make use of the choice from ME1 & 2 more efftive and more critical in ME 3.
One thing I miss that there will be time for us to make decisions at some points in games so if you take too much time to make decisions then face consequences. For example, the Normandy is heading into a perfect position to flank or destroy a reaper cruiser but it also taking a heavy fire then critical choice again maintaining the course or evasive and manuver. The more time you wait the more damange the ship take. I find this interesting now.
For the repairing you will have to wait for the repair-time penalty. Of course you can take the ship out of the port at anytime but the conditions at the time, you know. And also the money you pay there will be now way to get back as you break the contract first. This will reinforce the decision making again.
This is all my crazy ideas. Please give comments!!!! Edit or add more than welcome:D

My BIGGEST suggestions I really hope BioWare keeps to would be;
First and foremost; Do NOT reveal what Quarians look like under the mask. Keep the community guessing, because~ whether they admit it or not, that mystery keeps players interested. Without it, Quarians would just be another Volus/Elcor Race.
Next; while the Mako was annoying, the frequent non-essential planet exploration was fun. ME2 was good, but we need more of them.
And my final would be giving us Hacking back so that the players who don't enjoy the minigames still have that option to bypass security measures at the sacrifice of putting points in more active trees.

Example: The assault rifle has 5 segments, upper barrel assembly, lower barrel, receiver and trigger, stock and optics. Swapping out the upper barrel could increase damage, accuracy or heat absorption (like some of the weapon mods in ME1) while the lower barrel would improve the Concussive Shot (which, let's face it, is a grenade launcher) damage, damage type or spread. The receiver and trigger would determine the ammo capacity and type (if it uses ME2 style expendable thermal sinks or the ME1 style). The stock could change melee damage, speed or storm speed (if the player decides on a short stock, like the XM8 short carbine). Optics could add a short zoom (like half or a third of the sniper rifle) or increase the stability of the weapon.
2. Customizable Normandy external appearance, like the N7 armor only better. No matter your choices at the end of ME2, Shepard has free reign over the operation of the Normandy. So why not let the player choose how to paint their ship. If they're not longer in the service of Cerberus it shouldn't be sporting Cerberus colors and insignia. And even if they're a Spectre again, it's not registered to the Alliance or any of the Council fleets. Plus I wanna paint my Normandy pimping gold. Or HOT PINK.
