Armor and helmets for team members!

Yeah its annoying how Miranda, Jack, and Jacob barely wear armor.

Is it more annoying than everyone wearing the same best armour with identical looks? I hated that in ME1.

However, I'd love for a mechanic similar to the loyalty triggered alternate appearance where each squad member could gain a (partially) armoured outfit. Each with it's own unique looks and characteristics.

I would like space combat.

I want the old mass effect back. I hate the new system inventory system.

I like to customize my stuff, even my crew.

Please, Make the citadel larger, want revisit older parts of the citadel

I want my old crew back,

I have had a dream.... and that dream is that ME2 and Heavy Rain got drunk in a bar together... and later... however long it takes for Video games to spawn their sequels... ME3 was born and released to us. It had all the character development and dialogue options of mass effect, combined with the "you control everything concept" of heavy rain... and rather than having one button interrupts... you had entire fight scenes and interrupts that played like Heavy Rain (for anyone who has played heavy rain... I point your attention to the first time you play as the female character... I haven't had my pulse pound that much playing a video game in years)... The combat was also further streamlined, the cover system was flawless, and you were able to crouch on your own again (without cover... I so missed being able to do that in ME2) and you were able to operate the things on the normandy with control commands like Heavy Rain (like using your omni tool... you motioned with the control stick in different circle patterns). It was a good dream that I doubt will happen... because Heavy Rain is strictly console and I know that many many many people love ME on the PC, but I think that some of the conceptual events could be taken into account. I mainly liked the rapid, in depth QTE-like moments from Heavy Rain and I guess my brain decided to apply that to ME.... it was a good dream. Sigh...

Hope that all or most of the characters from ME1 and ME2 appear in ME3 and have more defining roles.

More bigger roles for surviving characters like Wrex, Rachni, Kaiden/Ashley, and ME2 squad mates.

Bigger role for Anderson, more Illusive Man, more in depth on love intrest, more major choice changes to the story in the beginning to the end, and a battle on Earth.

Also some story that unites all species against the Reapers like Krogan, Rachni, Batarian, geth, quarian, and etc all working together because of Shepard.

More weapon designning, armor customizing, upgrades, and power development.

Crouching, Helmet remove, smarter team AI, more open fields for battles, less buggy(of corse hehe), and enemy drop salvage for certain upgrades.

More side missions that tell more story of the ME universe and feal like doing them makes you change the final outcome of Shepards legacy.

Finally a story that is so good that it is remembered for years to come and is both satisfying, happy, and sad ends.

ME3 makes more than 7 million sales by a year or less, all the same voice actors, and game support for patchs and DLC for atleast 2 years after release.

First, BioWare, thank you thank you thank you for ME2. It was above and beyond what I thought it could be. However, I have one small, very small, area for improvement for ME3 so as to make it the best game ever.

My small complaint/humble request relates to the "feel" of immersion that ran so deep in ME1. I felt much of this enchanting and truly almost euphoric sense of reality in ME1 didn't quite make the transfer over to ME2. Here's how:

1) The MAKO and "Copy/Paste" Barren Landscape Environments

Much of the "immersion" and "exploration" that felt so real, epic, awe-inspiring, and truly (if you stopped every now and then while you driving the MAKO over some barren planets) humbling and mystifying was lost from ME1 when the MAKO was out for ME2. I loved the fleshed out planets from ME2, it was really cool to see that. I for one posted constantly about that in the old ME1 forums. However, I guess I never realized that the MAKO and all the copy/paste worlds would be entirely dropped. And now I somewhat regret it. It was this lack of immersion that I missed so much when playing ME1. Maybe for ME3 or ME2 dlc, add in another 15-20 truly uncharted worlds like ME1. (there is a thread much like this already, so go there if you want to see the whole argument)

2) Elevators and "Decontamination in Progress"

Really, truly, I didn't mind the elevators or having to walk back to the Normandy in ME1 as it made the game feel like you were truly always in it; there were no "discontinuities" in the storyline that loading screens unfortunately made the ME2 feel less personal. The small banter between squadmates also made ME1 feel more realistic as well. The "taken outside the movie" kinda feeling crept up more I felt with all the loading screens in ME2, versus ME1 I always felt "in the game/movie." Don't get me wrong, some of the load screens were pretty cool, being able to see where you were traveling; however, maybe for ME3, have those load screens very very intermittently and bring back the elevators. (To all future posters, please don't hurt me for this idea, I promise I am being truly sincere in my requests)

3) Status Reports with your Superiors

Not talking directly to Hackett/the Council like ME1 really made me feel even less immersed for the things I did in the game. I felt this really made me think about my decisions, as eventually my superiors would know about it. Versus just receiving an email from TIM, I felt BioWare could have made it so it would been neat to hear his voice, and then discuss with the squad about the last mission.

4) Squad Banter

Simple.

All in all, ME2 was absolutely fantastic to play, but I miss the planets and other small things that made ME1 feel so real.

EDI should be a holographic projection based on her voice actor.

Include some side quests given by Dr. Chakwas that are more involved then a 'beer run'.

Squad Mates should wear ARMOR.  They should all wear HELMETS when doing missions like the Collector ship.  No more of this silly half face respirator stuff.  Looks ridiculous.  This science fiction not fantasy.  I don't care what style/color the armor is just put them in damn armor while on missions!  All of them!

Wider variety in civi clothing for male/female sheps.

A few more patterns for armor.

Renegade points for when I hack a terminal for creds, especially in a hospital or apartment that has its dead owner laying at my feet a la The Omega plague.

Give Paragon points for donating creds to some random charities.  The equivalant of Salvation Army kettles.

Cap both to a set amount of Ren/Para points.

Create a better system for the scars/red eyes.  It looks cool but the system is lame.  Again, this sci-fi not fantasy.  The explanation given by Chakwas email was lame and broke any sense of immersion into a SCIENCE-fiction world.

Allow players to buy robo mining units.  The player would take these - scan a planet ONCE! and launch them.  The player then would be given a list of various resources avail on planet and percentage chance of finding each one.  Player could chose to robo mine for one or random resources.  Robo miner would provide resources of certain amount for certain time until it would break.  Time and resources should be such that your not wasting your time looking for resources every 5 minutes.  Make 'em last several real hours.

Create load screens similar to DAO where we're given tidbits about the quests, or even better trivia about different races, planets, and tech or history of ME's galaxy.  No more of this silly nonsensical animated goobly ******!!!

NO MORE MISSION COMPLETE SCREENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do NOT make ME3 like DAO where you run random missions for different races to get their support to join your army!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  NO DAO IN SPACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No more forced missions like the Collector Ship and Horizon.  Where you HAVE to go ... like RIGHT NOW!  WTF?!  TIM clearly says that it's up to ME what I do about the info.  So, seriously?!
I don't have a problem having to talk to him at certain points but forcing me to do a mission is fail.

Hello. Just wanted to say, that ME2 is absolutely a glorious game, and that any information below is just nitpicking, but still, here it is:

1) No planet scanning, but then again, I thought that'd be obvious by now

2) Althought the combat system has gone more to gears of wars (which is a good thing), I'd like to say that if you want to take it in that direction, do it fully, and not halfway. By this i mean, design cover a bit more fluently as a part of the level, and not only crates or mieces of rock coming seemingly out of nowhere. Also, make it possible to go from cover to cover. Other then that, no objections.

3) The quests not part of the main story. It's good that there areminiquests (like returning a pendant you find on a mission, or be an errant boy for some people) dont change that. The main quest is good, although I found that in ME2, although better told and more cinematic, the story was more lacking then ME1. The middle, free exploration quests is what kinda gets me though. I'd like to, for one, see more story in this. I mean, you obviously try to put a story together for each of the mercenary bands, but because the fragments of story are just scattered texts on the floor, it kinda looses it's edge. I don't think it would be hard to make one giant sidestory in ME3, where you take on the mercenary bands (oh, and let us shoot some more batarians, i never get tired of that), so we kind of have 2 main stories. But one of them progresses you int he game, and the other is freely available whenever. Also, dont lock us out of areas again like the citadel in ME1.

4) My main grief. Ammo. I mean, for one thing, technique had advanced far enough in ME1 so that soldiers woudl never again have to worry about having enough ammo. And, a couple years later we g o back in time and need ammo again (yeah, yeah, heat sinks, lame excuse)? That just doesnt sit right with me. Now, don't get me wrong, except for with the sniper, i never run out of ammo in the game, but I just hate, truly despise an ammo restriction. In resident evil, I savoured every bullet like my mother's teet in my primal year.
Fortunately, i have a suggestion. Keep the system as it is now (heat sinks), however, when you run out of ammo, you're still able to fire, but your weapon starts overheating rapidly, and you can only burst, or fire 1 or 2 shotgun shells, and each sniper shot overheats. Also, make heat sinks a collective ammo. You say in your description that heat sinks are the same for every weapon, so when you use one for your assault rifle, it should come out of a collective amount, and you'll have less rifle or pistol shots too.
Anyway, take it as you want, but i found that to be a good idea.

Well, those were my main grievances. But all in all, everythin else was pretty much perfect. I enjoy the game still. Oh yeah. No mako. ffs. no mako. nomakonomakonomakonomakonomakonomako. ok? Ok.

And more civilan clothing Both for male and female Shepards
and even an ceremony military uniform.
They should wear armor to protect againt poison atmosphere.

And you are totally right with the forced misson the Collector ship and Horizon.
They should have done like in Mass effect 1 when you get to no about virmire from the Citadel council.

we should be immersed, not too much though, in the people and worlds around us-so we know what were fighting for, and keep it like the first two games

but I loved ME1 and ME2, they are peices of video game art-and keep up the good work bioware!

hey i say how about a combat roll..when you pop out of cover and trying to move to the next and your enemy got you in his site..then boom at the last second you buss out a roll to avoid getting hit.Bioware can make it that a certain class gets this ability or you can acquire it at some point..i think it would be a cool element to the combat system.

What I would like to see are a few more dialog options based on your class or skills like in Fallout 3. If you're playing an Engineer it could open up a few more optiones when talking to Scotty on the machine deck for example.

I'm still undecided if I like the ammo system or not. Too bad this Forum doesn't have a poll option.

I like Decan's idea. Making the romance dialog options more obvious, so that you can be nice to your crew without shagging everyone. :D

I sincerely like to point out that its really, really difficult to do a reboot like ME2 had, especially on a sequel, and more so when you have a fanbase divided like it is right now.
Its even more difficult to restrict things in the second game that the first game had, and get away with it. I'm ok with making the game more approachable, but that not necessary means to be confined and stripped of its grace for the sake of gaining a younger fanbase, let's face it, Mass Effect is a very mature themed game.
I'd really like this franchise, otherwise I wouldn't be here wasting time on comments.
Right now, this franchise seems to be lost in the middle of an identity crisis, what I'm really hoping for ME3 is to go back to the sci-fi feeling and atmosphere, to that immersive galaxy and world that BioWare presented on ME1.
I don't need to tell you that It will make me really sad to see this franchise going for the "Action packed blockbuster" formula, because I feel this game on its first part settled to be something more deep and interesting than what is becoming.

Hi kind of new here….
Any way I played ME2 (never seen ME1, sad I know) and here is my wish list:
I have read a lot of wish lists posted here (not all, it would take years) and I liked a lot of the ideas you guys posted. As for me I played the game over and over and over again, loved it, but since I played a lot of other games over the past 20 years I do have some things I would like to see improved, added, scratched.
1-      More guns please, where did all the guns go! I want at least 30, 40 weapons, and the ability to customize and upgrade them as well, (scopes, grenade launchers, extra ammo clip, faster fire rate, more accuracy….etc you get the idea).
2-      More armor options, I want more armor options, example infiltrator armor has cloak device, less armor, more agility for user (faster running, and better handling for snipers), combat armor has less agility more armor…etc. Also armors for tech users that boosts their abilities (I have an idea for tech classes hope u like I will explain in point 3) armor for biotic users too, anyhow you get the general idea, more armor customization, and options. Armor coloring was cool keep that. Also helmets should have an option to "close" and "open" that would be cool.
3-      Ok what I like to see in ME3 is a more effective engineer class, what I want to see my friends is an engineer that can deploy robots to fight by his side, yes fully customizable upgradable robots or robot (1), that would take the class to a whole new "level", I'm not talking about the lame 2 second probe thingy, I'm talking a heavy mech. at level 20 kind of robot that you can have with you on missions, maybe as the other team mate for balance reasons. You can "play" with your robot at your own little lab on the Normandy; give it some nice paint, extra plates, weapons….etc that would be the coolest thing EVER, although I feel a little sad to relinquish this idea for "free". I must point out that I love coming up with new innovative ideas more than getting paid for it :P.
4-      Ok I want bigger levels, because the areas in ME2 were a little small, I'm not demanding fallout3 levels on each planet or space station, but bigger levels would give the game more replay value.
5-      More character interactions, and yes more "diverse" sexual options, it’s the 22 century, and besides the Asari are already a "gay" race, all females, I actually find it amazing that Asari are even attracted to males of any spices really!! But it's not such a big deal since I like to socialize outside the game universe, but it will help the immersion factor, and more immersion means a better game, dragon age anyone?!
6-      SPACE BATTELS, although I think it will be tricky to implement, it would be great to have huge space battles with boarding options ARGGGGG.
7-      More space ship options, I like the Normandy well enough but maybe I would like to have a Turian cruiser instead! 3 or 5 ship options would be great although they would take time to make, but it's easy enough for a big company like EA and Bioware.
8-      More skills and abilities would be great, and it's not that hard to add to a game like this, a skill tree would be awesome, then you are "forced" to choose between many options, maybe some more passive skills too, example: you choose an infiltrator class, and in the infiltrator skill tree you have an upgrade for the tactical cloak, after you pick the skill you get two more skill options under it, one that make it last longer (Longer than 8 sec, I mean really 8 sec!!!!) and one that makes you shot twice before the cloak fail, and you can't choose both…. It's just an idea and it would add more diversity to the game.

That’s all I can think about now, all in all I think ME2 is a great game and I enjoyed (still enjoying) it greatly, I say bravo to the team that made it and I wish I was with them, helping in creating such epic and beautiful art and stories.
Anyway keep up the good work and I hope you guys like my ideas, if not well that’s even better since you will be forced to make a better ones :P

I'm still irritated that a F U T U R I S T I C game that should have the most advanced info/intel, can't update our solar system with the inner/outer asteroid belt, and Pluto, Eris and Ceres (and possibly Charon--Pluto's "moon").  Instead, we still have a "nine planet" system, which is inaccurate.

Anyone else bothered by this?

As I can think of now, there are 3 things.

1. More customizable character, like altering the body a little bit and not just the head, with height, width etc.

2. Grenades. It'd been nice to have something that would give enemies in cover something to worry about(not that I ever had a problem killing them anyway).

3. More equipment, both for your character and your team.

4. More team dialogue.

5. More improvised fight. Having a heavy gun firing at me like the Geth Collossus while being saved by a little bucket standing in the way which I just happened to hide behind. Sure, it'd made it hellish to have a gun that blasted away nearly anything it was pointed at, but then again, having it not to would make it feel rather stupid and not to mention; I missed having to run for my life a little bit more. Everything was basically just; 1. Sit down in cover. 2. Pick off enemies. 3. Move on.

6. BLOOD! GORE! MUTILATION! And bodies which didn't instantly despawn as well...
You know, when you put a lot of effort into lining up that one shot into that poor sucker's head, you kind'a feel cheated when his limp body just slumps down behind the crate as you hit him. You really were expecting to see a heading blowing up.

7. Signs of battle.
You just had a bigass firefight in someone's house with hundreds if not even thousands of rounds fired and grenades launched and yet the whole place still looks like the Steward Maid had just finished off and left.
