More social aspects to the game, period. And think about gameplay, it's odd to finish the game, then go talk to the squadmates and they act like you haven't completed the final mission yet. It would be nice to really deepen friendships or heighten rivalries with squadmates, and bring more dimension to the relationships that aren't LIs.

There needs to be some sort of male/male LI in ME3. It's really strange and disheartening that these were left out of ME1 and ME2. I know guys think two chicks together is 'hot', but some of us think that it would add variety to the game if there was a gay male option for Shepard. To NOT include it implies a degree of homophobia, and no one wants that.

More interactions between squadmates that don't involve Shepard. I know that sort of thing is resource-intensive, but really, the universe doesn't revolve around Shepard, does it?

I would like it if all past ME1 and ME2 squadmates were recruitable for ME3. I would also like it if you could recruit a small number of them if you so wished. Variability = fun for me, because I like to play multiple playthroughs with different Shepards.

I second that.

I would also like to add... Where are the TRUE friendships!!! When playing a game such as this I would want to feel that I can befriend them, and NOT just make a romance. For example it feels like I have to romance them in order to get everything I can out of them. For example Kaidan in Mass Effect, if playing male he felt lifeless, but somehow I wanted to befriend him, I DID not want to romance him, since I am straight, "In real life" as well "InGame".
Dragon Age origins were close to such friendship, but still not there either. Anyway that character were "Alistair".
I hope that they can do something similar with Kaidan, or better.
If people in real life have felt true friendship they would know what I mean by that.

Apologies if this is a reiteration.

I'd love more interaction between your squad mates based on which missions you take them on and descicions they've already made. For example, if talk to a character you've just doen a mission with afterwards, then there are new dialogue choices or comments you wouldn't otherwise have had. Likewise, if you went particualry paragon or renegade on said mission ,it affects how they interact with you. Also, the team mates to make more reference to one another, again based on choices you make for teams, as well as simple character things.  A lot of the time (Jacob and Miranda aside) your teammates can feel very isolated.

Also, showdown between your love intrests which is based on your own history with them, as well as character history. I know there are certain character I want to see throw down for Shep's honor at some point. XD If not that, then I hope we can at least continue a previous romance plotline into ME3. I don't want to have to start again: Shepard can only have her heart pulled in so many directions before it breaks, people!

That being said, I atrust whatever Bioware give us, it will be awesome. Now we just have to contend with the waiting! (oh the nights, they are so long!) :)

On behalf of the Miranda thread, I would officially like to request that Miranda do Yvonne Strahovski's "crump" dance. Yvonne is well known for doing it and as Miranda/Yvonne supporters, we think it would be such an epic easter egg that we could never properly thank Bioware for it.

We thought you could implement it in the same way you did with Legion doing the robot, maybe. If we stand around Miranda long enough without initiating dialogue, she'll do a little dance.

See the following for an example of Yvonne doing said "crump" dance.

Please implement this idea somewhere in ME3, Bioware! We would be eternally grateful! (And I'm sure you all can appreciate the humor in it, as well.) =)

Slyguy07 I agree with BurstAngel75, there was simply a ton of stuf on the inventory, I found myself changing things up constantly from fight to fight. A lot of the ammo for instance was not needed. That said, it was jarring to see how far back things were pulled, clearly to attract more fps fans. Here's the thing though, Mass effect was never a pure rpg, if it was I for one wouldn't have bought it, I wanted the conversations, the upgrading and the free exploration with the immediacy of an fps. It was built in such a way as to attract a wider audience, ME2 continues that trend. I doubt they would want to alienate any new fans by bringing back the hefty inventory in ME3 and I think they managed to pull off this dramatic scaling back quite well. I think better customization is needed though, I loved finding different armours like the colosuss.

Whoa settle down there I didn't say bring back the clunky cluttered mess for an inventory in ME1. My problem is that there is not one just a dumb armor and weapon locker on the ship. They were neat ideas, but they were too radical a change from the first game. I went back to play ME1 last night and it felt alien after playing ME2 so much. I was kinda saddened by how so many abilities are still useless in ME2. Biotics and tech need a serious overhaul. Biotics are near useless and tech is only good for taking down defenses. Charge, warp, and maybe pull are the only biotics worth a crap. (HC and insanity only)

t hand. There needs to be an inventory. Just not a an infinite loot bag. If some shooter fanboys can't compromise with that they need to realize the RPG/level/loot ppl have next to nothing they wanted  aside from a good story and fairly good combat. I still am disappointed with how guns are the only good way to kill people on HC or Insanity. They need to rethink the combat system again.

Biotics should work on people with shields or armor or barriers. They just need to make certains work perhaps against certain defenses or make certain enemy types immune to specific powers. In ME1 Shepard felt powerful. In ME2 he felt skilled, but not like he was anywhere near as badass. I miss that feeling. :crying:

I am not saying make the game easy, but it needs to have some things changed imo  for ME3. That being said ME1 and ME2 are both great games with different strengths and weaknesses.

I think you and I are signing from the same hymn sheet here, I'd like a few more items to fiddle with, and I agree about tech/biotics, I'm playing on a high difficulty ( I forget which now) and I can't use any of my cool powers til I shoot off armor and shields, but why does it only take four hits to kill Shepard? I feel a lot weaker in this game, I think the idea is to force you into cover which is fine, but they went a little too far. Sitting around waitng for your enemy to reload and shoot for two seconds does not make for fun combat.

I couldn't agree more my friend. Posted Image

Its just a thought, say you have your characters early or you didnt have to go chasing after them(keep dreaming right?) there loyalty missions can be more in-depth. spanning an hour  instead of a few minutes.

yes i am in favor of keeping the loyalty missions, also the interrupt system.

I like the idea of less linear anything, even if there is nothing in the "wrong" direction but whipping winds and rubble; in the distance which is unabtainable a sheer cliff. I'll enjoy it because it's a masterpiece of design.

Inventory:  in ME1, as we are all aware we got alot of crap we didnt need. ME2, quite the opposite. either you payed a hefty sum for upgrades or armor, or went with out. Posted Image neither one of these systems where fantasic, especially for replay value. being able to change ammo types through skill, that'll fly. but i like having weopon choices, mixing and matching armor was a progressive thought too.

Finally(please, hold your appluase)

New game+
I remember a certain game where you played a new game + and whamo! you had everything from the previous game. (im know there tons of games/ exceptions on "stuff" retained)

P.S.

Mineral Scanning was way to tedious Posted Image fix it or forget it.

Bioware pretty much did absolutely everything right in ME2, with a few minor issues...  Here's a list of what I personaly would like to see in ME3

1.  Less linearity.  Loved the fast-paced gunfights, but the pacing felt a lot beter in ME1.  ME2 just felt like a string of corridors connecting rooms filled with baddies.

2.  Bring back the Mako!  Okay, some didn't like it, but I think we can all agree it was at least better than mining!

3.  Keep the streamlined inventory.  Maybe expand it just a bit for loot-heads, but I liked not having to sort through a hundred-odd different items just to find if that new gun I just picked up is better than my current one.

4.  Longer game.  Goes without saying that no time with Commander Shepherd and the Normandy is long enough.

5.  Space battles.  Hell.  Yes.  Need I say more?

6.  Earth.  You've teased us for two damn games, Bioware!  Come on!  I want to see how humanity treats a twice-savior of the galaxy in the future!

7.  Old squad-mates.  Tali, Garus, Liara, as many from ME1 and 2 as there are bunks on the ship to put them in, capiche?!

8.  Show us Tali's face, dammit!  And so help me GOD, if you screw this up, I will be at the FOREFRONT of the angry mob!

9.  Quarian homeworld?  Tie up the loose ends with the Geth.  I for one would LOVE to see the Quarian homeworld and an apropriately emotional response as the Quarians either reclaim their home through might (renegade) or an uneasy peace with the Geth (paragon).  Once again:  Do not mess this up, or there will be hell to pay.

10.  More relationships with your team-mates.  We know that your actions, pan-ME1/2 will make a difference, I just cannot wait to see how this all pans out!

11.  Distinct classes.  Keep what you had in ME2.  That was spot on.

12.  The interupt system.  Um, can't really say I want this to stay quite loud enough.

13.  Make it epic.  You know your fanbase.  We want world-shattering plots, we want space battles with enough firepower to anahilate whole systems, we want full-scale wars on the ground, we want covert, behind-enemy-lines missions, we want huge, beautiful, alien worlds, we want want characters we fall in love with outside the game, we want enemies who make us hate them so much, we dream of stranglng them and forcing them to PAY,  we want war, we want peace,  we want the best damn game humanity has ever made.  We don't just want good, we want perfect.  We know that's not going to happen though.  So we'll settle for so-close-as-makes no-odds.

Any other company, I'd say this is asking too much, but come on; this is BIOWARE!  If anyone can do it, they can.

Some things I want with Mass Effect 3:

1. Combat suits for my squad. I hate seeing my squad go in with regular suits. It just seems unrealistic and I would think Tali would put some armour on to protect her suit from damage.

2. With the love intrests I would like them to push it further. I think if they had a near death mission in the game maybe you could make the decision to marry or have a union with your LI and depending on your LI you could get married on the cithadel, on the normady, or even the migrant fleet.

3. Continuing the LI talk why not combine how the love scenes were done in ME and ME2. I like the how tasteful the ME one was but I like the dialogue in ME2.  To me they should aim for the feel like how James Cameron handle the Terminator love scene between Sarah and Reese. Something in that tone. Maybe the scene could be after my wedding suggestion instead of right before the end of the game.

4. More custimization for armour and weapons.

5. An apartment for Shepard. This would be really cool especially if you could bring your LI in and recieve more dialogue or even missions from your love interest.

6. Also customizing your squads armor as well so that way they can have bonuses as well.

7. Change the health bar back to the way it looked in Mass Effect. I really dislike the ME2 health bar because it fails to show how hurt my squad is and its annoying how its in the middle of the screen.

8. Maybe to have the squad interact act more you can push for other squad rommances beside yourself. What if legion fell in love with EDI. This could lead into side quest to help them. Say with legion he wanted to show EDI he cared for her so he ask you to help him aquire some parts so he could build her a body that she can go back and forth between the ship and that body and be with Legion. It would create more of interesting atmosphere in the game and dialogue.

9. The famous helmet toggle issue. I like how Dragon AGe handles it where the helmets come off during cutscenes. I think that way people don't have to worry about toggling the helmet. They could show a cutscene with him taking it off or something like the face part opens up so we can see the face.

Those are some of my ideas and maybe I will think of more later.

1. Keep the planet scanning. Introduce an imaging system upgrade that allows you to see resource "hotspots" on the planet surface. For example: while scanning for for platinum you see concentrations of it on the surface, move your crosshairs over the area and launch probe. Same for the other minerals. This would make the whole process faster and more enjoyable.

2. Keep the thermal clips but bring back weapon mods.If people want to use things like frictionless materials and simply spam bullets ,fine, but at the cost of reduced damage. Make ammo powers available for everyone where logical. For example: Garrus isn't biotic so he can't therefore generate warp ammo. Shredder, incendiary, armour piercing, and disruptor are for everyone. Also keep ammo choices in the power wheel.

3. Can we sell some stuff please? Increased shop inventories would also be super. WTF happened to all the other manufacturers in galaxy? I'd like to see items that are only available in the Terminus Systems and vice versa in Council Space. More shops, more goods. There's few too many vendors in both ME and ME2.

4. Squad needs armour. I'll buy it, raid merc shipments for it or better yet, give some of those resources I've been mining to Mordin and he can make us some. Let me select what the squad is going to wear just before the missions start and allow me to customize their armour in the armoury the way i can customize sheps in the capt's quarters. And don't forget to helmet toggle!

5. Keep the load out screen. It's awesome and it make sense. I'm not carrying the huge ass inventory around with me like I did in ME1, thank god. Simply expand ME2's inventory to allow for weapon/armour mods during missions. If we purchase new gear (armour or weapons) during a trip through a merchant district, give the option to equip on the spot or send the merch back to the ship. Don't toss the research system out! Keep it the same!

6. Party banter during missions. See DA:O for details.

7. The ability to "romance" our LI's in varying locations, multiple times throughout the game. I don't mean anytime you want but more often than just before the "Big" mission, after would be nice too. For example: Miranda really likes a certain piece of music (can't remember the name) maybe Shep could pick up a copy somewhere and invite her up to the capt.'s quarters for a listen. If we can have some drinks and chill with Chalkwas, we should be able to do the same with our LI's. Put simply: make the romances seem less like one stands and flesh them out more.

8. Don't change the combat. It rocks. Christina Norman, please have my children.

9. No space combat or multiplayer. Never. Ever.

!0. Make it HUGE. Like12 disks. I'll settle for 3-5 though.

11. Aria. Just a one nighter or friends with benefits for renegade inclined Sheps but only if Shep has something she really wants. Not as a squad mate. Although, if she does turn out to be Aleena, I'd like to see a Wrex meets Aria scene. She almost seems sad during the dialogue that hints of her being Aleena, I want to know why.

12. Some sort of freaky, alien death critter for the aquarium. Sunfish are nice but I want some as before never seen ugly, dangerous mini sea monster.

13. Some open area, sandbox style planets like in ME1. I want to explore again. I know the Hammerhead is coming, but I'd like to see some ruins, bizzare landscapes and barren worlds. So many times have I scanned a planet and thought " I wish I could land there." Let us land there and explore! Example: Preying Mouth, Armeni or Junthor and nameless others!

14. If the Normandy needs fuel then we must also have to discharge the drive core. On the planets that are suitable for discharge, make missions or random battles at some of the planets that have travel advisories. If there's a pirate, geth or mercenary warning let us take the risk and sometime be rewarded (punished) with combat. Also some random exploration of mysterious planets (Preying Mouth) while discharging would also be amazing. Just take the Hammerhead for a spin or head out on foot and check things out..

15. Bring back the ability to board the Normandy without having to leave orbit everytime. If I want to leave, I'll hit up the galaxy map. Airlocks and elevators. Loved 'em. Airlocks would be nice to have again. Felt so seemless.

16. Open concept areas in some environments. I understand why the Presidium was off limits in ME2 but lets have it back for ME3 as well as something like an expanded Illium (maybe the streets groundside) . It be oh so very awesome to be walking around on street level, looking up at the huge towers. Expand all existing locales that exist within ME and ME2. More Omega, Citadel, Port Hanshan, Illium etc. Bigger, more.

Yup as i read some previous posts more social relationship should be cool. In ME1 my teammates talked to me much more often. It would be nice to have them talk or take other interations in varoius areas example in ME1 i could dance with Liara in the club.

Make shipmates editable (like Shepard) or use better face modelers.

Get some Japan face designer to make Tali face she should look strange but beautifull.

Bioware face modelers are doing crap faces eg Miranda she she supposed to be beauty but she is just vulgar. Same was with Dragon Age origins i didn't buy the game as I see characters look so ugly. ME 1 faces were much better eg Ashley

It would be nice to have some "unarmed" missions - don't turn the game to perma shooter. It would be great to go in casual dress 4 a such mission eg. citadel or other colony missions.

Bring back some mystery to the game

I would like to see a more immediate and obvious reflection of the achievements you unlock. In Shepard's cabin there is a plaque that shows you his/her achievements unlocked. I would like to see ribbons added to the uniform (just like on a normal military uniform). So on your first playthrough, as you progress through the storyline you'd see your ribbon board on your uniform while in base/on board your ship, grow larger. Each succesive playthrough could hold all the ribbons previously unlocked, giving a greater feel of accomplishment to the players.

Having played through both ME1 and ME2 as well as Dragon Age, it´s easy to see the different designs at work. Of the three I have to say that Dragon age strikes me as the game with the best balance of sticking to the story while allowing for "free" exploration. For the ultimate in freedom you really can not better Oblivion but that is a totally different gameexperience...
Bioware makes very storydriven games. In ME2 I feel they have streamlined gameplay a bit too hard for my liking.
I would like multiple ways to get from A to B on a map but there is absolute linearity.
I would like to be able to sneak by enemies or simply run away from them.
I would like to enter a new area and not immeatedly see that I´m going to have to fight, in ME2 when you enter at room and therés crates and cover littered in front of you, you simply know that as soon you walk forward a gunfight will commence. It´s very annoying.
I would like differnt weapons and ammunition to play a bigger part of your success. I just used fireammo all the way through and it worked "too" well, why change then?
I simply HATE scanning planets for minerals when all I want is more exploring. I would rather take missions with Normandy to secure traderoutes for a fee or have a fat sidequest where I infiltrate mercenaries and/or spacepirates to find their bases and take them out and keep their gear. Or have the moral desicion of actually joining spacepirates and use them as an extra asset in the coming battle. Anything would be better than sitting for hours scanning planets and deploying drones. I liked the Mako better even if the worlds you explored in ME1 was barren.
I want to see how upgrades affect the look and use on characters. I want Shepard to look a little nasty or wicked if he maxes out on renegade points och heroic and noble if he is paragon through and through.
Upgrades should also affect the look of weapons, ship an so on.
I don´t want to shoot spacemonkeys to get a better price in a shop, I want to have a skill that let´s me barter with the shopkeeper...
Finally I wish for intelligent sidequests. It´s really not acceptable
to be on a mainquest to save all intelligent life in the known
universe, and at the same time be asked to deliver a letter, find a
lost hamster or something like that.

Reading this whishlist I realise that people might think I did not like ME2, that is not true. I really like it, I would give it 8.5 of 10. I only wish Bioware will make the third game a full 10 because the story SO deserves it! After the third game I hope James Cameron buys the right for the Scifi movie Mass Effect. Imagine a film with the looks of Avatar and the story of Mass Effect...

I guess if you order your squad to avoid the battlefield while playing infiltrator that it might be possible to stealth through a few sections...?

It would be really interasting if Commander Shepards is going to be promoted to Captain by the Alliance.

Sorry this to my previous wish. If the Alliance promted Shepard is going to feel like progress in the game. Yes Shepard is a Spector the highest agents in the know galaxy but it would be good to see commander shepard progress in the alliance also to become Captain Shepard it would do so much good to the storyline becase this is Commander Shepards Story.
