On behalf of the Miranda thread, I would officially like to request that Miranda do Yvonne Strahovski's "crump" dance. Yvonne is well known for doing it and as Miranda/Yvonne supporters, we think it would be such an epic easter egg that we could never properly thank Bioware for it.
We thought you could implement it in the same way you did with Legion doing the robot, maybe. If we stand around Miranda long enough without initiating dialogue, she'll do a little dance.
See the following for an example of Yvonne doing said "crump" dance.
Please implement this idea somewhere in ME3, Bioware! We would be eternally grateful! (And I'm sure you all can appreciate the humor in it, as well.) =)
This please!!

gameplay. After all, it's the epic story/gameplay integration that
makes the Mass Effect games so damn enticing to me in the first place.
I'd love it if there were actual missions and story elements which were
totally different, or available/unavailable in ME3 based on choices
made as far back as ME1. For example, a showdown/mission which is
riggered if you romanced a certain character or 2, or maybe missions which can only
be triggered if you don't have a certain teammate. Make it impossible to get all
the content in a single trilogy playthrough. Make certain endings
only available based on squad wins and losses/ choices made in all
three games. Hell, make the 'best' endings only available if you did lose people - mix it up, bring it on! Make our choices matter in ways we never expected them to.
I don't think by offering different missions available only to people who
took certain paths is a bad thing, or a disservice to anyone who is
playing the game. I know very few Mass Effect fans who have left either
game at a single playthorugh as it is, so to give me better
story/gameplay reasons for my replays would just make me ecstatic. (not
that I don't have reason enough already). Make me work to get full content experience.
I know, I know - what I'm asking for requires multiple character arcs,
and extra work, but I'd assume building mission levels isn't too hard
once the blocks are there, so it's really down to extra work for the
writers, actors and ainmators. But you know what, I can't see anyone
putting this level of thought and soul into creating these these
characters so far not to care about the end experience. I don't even
care how much longer we'd have to wait or if they jacked the cost up a
litle, if the experience level was to get that much deeper. Heavy Rain
is doing choice and consequence very well right now to the point that
the game can be an entirly different interpration and experience, and I
hope that's what we get with ME3. There are a lot of expectations on
this game, and I hope (and trust) that Bioware do it right. Don't rush
out a game to capitalise on the hype - take the time to make it worth
the wait. And we will wait. Some less patiently than others, granted.
But I always think the best games are simply ready when they are ready.
When I finish Mass Effect 3, the ultimate test of the story arc/gameplay
variety would be if as soon as I take Shepard to her end, I put in ME1
and start from the beginning.

Originally I skipped ME1, but after ME2 came and I heard your character can carry over to it I wanted to test this innovation. Sadly it seems the transfer isn't nearly as interesting as it could be. There should be real consequenses for actions and choices instead of just verbal reminders "Hey arent you the one who did this and that"
Things shouldn't be as open and forgetting, ME3 needs more alternate quests, allies and events you see or don't see based on your past actions.
On top of that - more immersive immediate relationships. I can imagine the life and traffic that isn't seen on screen, but teammates and such cripple this immersion quite a bit. They don't really move or do anything. Interaction with them is quite limited and repetive. Allies just respawn while my death immediately means game over, which makes short-range combat too dangerous for Shepard compared to longer ranges. I'd like Republic Commando style revival kits for everyone.

The new character could be a mercenary. Who's story would cross with Commander Shepard's.
Depending on how we/you played the previous games as Shepard, this would affect how Shepard responds to your new character. (Shepard will be unplayble)
Perhaps your new character is hired to kill Shepard or one of his leads...
Maybe he'll recruit you... Maybe he'll kill you...
Shepard's reactions will be determined by his decisions during the
previous games.
(Good or Bad)

1st level 60 was a rush job, skipped heaps of missions, was a paragon (with renegade points only marginally lower), wrex lived, ash died, no romance, council died (created this one just to get to level 60 and max out my points)
2nd level 60 character was a thorough playthough, full paragon, wrex lived, ash died, council lived, no romance
3rd level 60 character as above but council died.
4th level 60 character as above but liara romanced.
See the problem? I can't tell the difference between the 1st, 3rd and 4th playthroughs :/

WE WANT STORY GAME QUALITY DLC
#2465

All team mates from the first and second games team mates in this one as well.
Tons more customization for armors and guns.
More freedom to explore.
Bring back the good/evil system from the first game.
Better hacking mini-games.
Keep the shooter aspects and add many more RPG aspects.
#2466
Posté 11 mars 2010 - 01:25
And have your team mates interact with each other not just Shepard.
#2467
Posté 11 mars 2010 - 01:48
-Relationships-
1) My 2 cents worth, would be neat if my companions could have relationships with each other; and or break up your relationship if your being indecisive.
2) Also neat if you could interact not just one on one with a team- mate but also collectively as a group; maybe use the cafeteria on the normandy or some bar or something.
-Combat-
1) Integrate vehicle sections into unexplored worlds so its not just all on foot combat. Mix and match a little
2) Have companions bring unique tactics to the combat through a skill set, so they play uniquely ie/ Have tali have a tactical ability to be more aggressive and do more damage against geth or something.
-Mini Games-
1) First off - combat is a mini game - just a long established one; if you are going to do a "mini game" for hacking it should be as involved as the combat section of the game. That is it should be fun, involved and be something you put skills into to compensate for difficulty. This means that the "mini game" needs to offer tangible rewards to the player apart from the loot otherwise it will just be seen as a break in play.
For the record I enjoyed me2 immensely

Why the characters are always not ready for CQB in most of the cutscenes? At least pull your gun out whenever you are to enter a new place, man...
And don't just stand there and chat, enemies may near by, or even a sniper somewhere, PLEASE PLEASE take cover and be alert, okay?!
2.It's a drawback that ME2 canceled toggling helmet, commanding teammates to shoot at certain point and some hotkeys.
3.In ME2 many members just dressed casual wears, where their shields from?
We hope the whole squad can dress armor in mission in ME3, so that they can fight in outerspace or hazardous environment.
And, more importantly, the changes of weapon and armor must be shown in the cutscenes correctly.
4.We want fleet scale battles and orbital bombing.
We want to drive mako or hammerhead, kodiak and krogan tank in main missions
We want true battles---tens of friendly and foe NPCs in one screen.
We want the enemies' heavy weapons more powerful, and Shepard can call for Normandy's fire support.
5.We want not only squad members but also every NPC appeared in ME1/2/3 can die according to Shepard's choice.
Sorry for my poor English :-)

BY the way, I think it was really cool in 2 that Shepard's armor was actually HIS armor. Not something you picked up and threw on. Add more customization to it, but please leave it so his armor is original and his own. Well, besides Conrad's piece of crap. I'll let Legion slide because the chunk looked cool on him and he's a beast.

Here's a cut and paste:
I have been truly impressed with the general direction Bioware took with Mass Effect 2, and would like to see more in Mass Effect 3. I have some suggestions:
Focus on making the "important" parts of the game truly groundbreaking. Note that I put "important" in quotes because I realize there are finite resources in game design and the game can't be totally new and everything to everyone.
- Keep refining this hybrid genre you've spearheaded with the first two games. In ME1 I felt like I was slowly exploring the universe; sometimes clunkily but usually with a sense of wonder. In ME2 it is now with more purpose, punctuated by truly visceral combat and still keeping a sense of wonder! The sense of scale and otherwordiness in some of the levels are inspiring. Even some of the side missions feel like they play into the main storylines. This series feels so unique that it cannot be easily classified as "action" or "RPG". It's not going to please purists, or every casual gamer, but please stay your course and make brave decisions. If ME3 can up the ante further that would be truly amazing.
- Forget the usual "RPG" trappings if you can. ME2 did away with inventory system so we now have a lot less items to 'loot'. But the tremendous upside is that I am more focused on the story and exploring the world instead of looking for the next best item. Get rid of "grind" type RPG traditions (to a large extent ME2 has done it and it's pretty gewd). I would welcome an increase in the number of upgrades/customizations but not at the expense of character development, world design or any of that truly important stuff.
- Forget the usual "Action Game" traditions if you must. I'll take end-game boss fights as an example. Almost all action games have an end-game boss fight because it's a tradition in gaming and the easiest way to make a player work for the victory and presumably feel the thrill of success at the end. It also often feels terribly artificial due to the superhuman/supertough abilities of the "boss". These boss fights tend to devolve into spam fests where the player must complete N number of cycles of increasingly damaging stages to kill the boss. Most recently I played the generally excellent Uncharted 2, but felt so cheated at the end exactly because of the uncreative and irritating bullet-sponge superhuman end-boss. Mass Effect 1 and 2 have end-bosses too but they were not as irritating as some of these games. The end-boss in Mass Effect 2 nearly felt cheezy due to its appearance though. Please do not go overboard with a ridiculous end-game boss. Implement something more groundbreaking instead, like a large chess-piece of a battle or something. It's not gonna be easy that's for sure.
- Improve the persuasion-levelling system. I like how your decisions in ME2 affects how your team performs, and how it's not immediately apparent how they will play out (at least the first time), but it would be nice in repeated playthroughs that we know how to 'work the system' at least for small/minor/fun choices. I was trying to recruit a certain optional member in a certain loyalty mission for my 2nd playthrough but I couldn't because of some weird persuasion levelling issues. I feel that this character is probably a minor one in the overall universe and as such shouldn't be this difficult to recruit; perhaps I am wrong. I think these potentially very fun options such as the aforementioned should be made more obvious to encourage experimentation in different playthroughs. That said...
- Make our decisions throughout the games truly matter without us knowing we are going to get the full rainbow or the purgatory ending. What I'm saying is, being a full paragon may mean your utter compassion may come back to bite you in the ass in some places thus complicating certain scenarios. Or, being a full renegade might mean that some of your potential allies etc may have been lost thus making parts of the game harder. For the gray areas, a mix of the two between depending on your decisions. Some of that time-based consequences in ME2 were a real surprise to me; keep it up and expand on it without limiting experimentation too much!
- Keep up the great work with voice acting and dramatic direction. So many games fail to engage because characters in the game speak unnaturally, or with stupid dialogue. I couldn't finish the Heavy Rain demo because the voice actors and script were so bad; maybe because I tried the HR demo in between my ME2 sessions but still it goes to show how important this is.
I really want to see Mass Effect 3 succeed and continue to break the mold and further the action-RPG-??? genre. Good luck!

I know that this is just "social.bioware forum"
I know Boiware employees are quite occupied persons.
But... I'd like to know what GM or Game developers think about this discussion. Do they read this.Do they will take our suggestions under slightest consideration or this is just chat chat chat. In some MMO games GM read the forums and if players post something on the forum they could feel that they have sometimes maybe illusive influence at the game.
one thing more i know that ME1, ME2 and ..... ME3 games arebig and they cant be distributed on 3-4,....10 DVDs, but we or most of us already have ME1installed on HD why not to integrate the world into 1 big universe. If engine of the game cant read previous geometry, I'm not specialist, maybe some little program should be provided to unlock previous locations (cytadela levels,Noveria, Ilos) maybe ... as expansion set. You know we got whole geometry in our computers and this is supposed to be saga...

Leave the Equipment and Suit System/ Inventory the same. The weapon set up same. The Normandy SR-2 the same.
Bring back the Mako or Equilvalent
Incorporate the Thresher Maws more into the story like Sheppard's encounter on Akuze.
Make Planet Scanning for resources less repetitive.
When you are traveling through space, encounter random battles with pirates with either ship to ship combat or board the ship and fight the pirates. Similar to DAO's.
The biggest wishlist for ME3 is that I feel the resolution to ME2 was very anti-climatic. Very disappointed in it. It seems the game was built off just character development and the ending was not very well thought out. Please don't let this happen in ME3.
