I can't believe people are still making stupid theories like this
EVERYTHING IS NOT CONNECTED TO EVERYTHING

Before ME2 came out, people made stupid theories like Jack is Gilllian Grayson, Ashley's sister, Kaidan's girlfriend, that girl in I Remember Me and that she was in Major Kyle's cult. There was also theories that Samara is Liara's "father" and all kinds of stupid theories

Give it up people, they're completely new characters

I actually think this one holds water, if you press her, it becomes rather clear (even without first seeding your minf with this thread.

And in reference to your comment about liara's "father", everyone knows it is that asari bartender on illium :)

I had that same thought. I thought it would be hilarious if Liara ended up on the same planet where the "father" she's never known is. Talk about a coincidence. The bartender for some reason strikes me as the type of Asari Benezia would have appreciated.

Can't be the bartender. She tells you her mother died in the Rachni Wars and her father in the Krogan Rebellions. Where's anything that links her to Benezia other than people's wild speculation?

...how would that preclude her being Liara's father? How do her own parents' fates have anything to do with this?

It'd be funny if she stayed on Omega, and Wrex was recruitable in ME3, and they ran into each other. I mean - she had to disappear, and Omega seems the perfect place to do it. Anyone got a time match when she arrived on Omega versus when she and Wrex had their thing? (I'm sure it doesn't give specifics, but I could be missing something.)

On a completely unrelated note, and entirely speculation from my hindsection, but I'm 100% positive that the Asari bartender on Ilium is Liara's "dad."

That would be very funny if she turned out to be Liara's dad lol.  As for the subject it seems very likely that Aria is Aleena.  Every one has listed all the evidence that points toward this conclusion but no one has anything against it.  It is obviously an easter egg planted in the game for those that love the franchise and take all the characters seriously.  Good job on that one Bio Ware.

I do agree that she is the best looking Asari I have seen and she has one of the coolest outfits in the game.

HA! Just asked Aria about her past and when the line "Better luck next time." fell I got chills.

Like a deja vu. Knew that Wrex said that line but had to look it up in ME wikia first. ^^

Awesome.

Aria/Aleena is a very interesting character. I hope we get to see Wrex and her get together in ME3 - or even better both of them in my crew! :D

Uh... no...

Her father fought in the Rachni Wars and her mother fought in the Krogan Rebellions.  They didn't meet until after the Rebellions.

And then her father found out about her mother's participation in the Rebellions...

Ask her about her past after you've done Patriarch and given her the datapad from Archangel's mission. She's willing to talk a bit, and one thing she says is that she had to change identities, or she would have had to kill a friend.

That friend, of course, could be Wrex, who took a permanent contract to guard the diplomat she was supposed to kill.

This has been mentioned a couple of times on this forum, I think most fans who bothered to listen to wrex through the first game have come to accept she is indeed Aleena.

I've heard quite a lot of speculation about the bartender but nothing solid. Could just be a random character...

If her voice actor wasn't so expensive I would definatly propose she be a romancable party member... screw Liara, if that's the other option :P

But yeah, it would be cool if it was confirmed for ME3, maybe she could even be a boss, that would be beyond awesome.

I think it is possible. She gives off hints when you talk to her, and I can see her playing another big role in ME3.

Anybody get that feeling? For some reason, I did...she said she's changed her name or appearance or something to that extent multiple times, and her history is a little secretive, not to mention how powerful she is taking out that Krogan patriarch...hmmm, interesting.

If anybody's wondering, it's that Asari that Wrex talked about fighting and how tough she was in ME1.

Or maybe she just wanted to hide from her enemies...

If Aleena is the asari that Wrex fought then yes it must be her. She talks about how she fought a powerful Krogan before

Yes, I agree; I thought that might be the case myself.

Yep, it's pretty heavily implied that Aria is Aleena.

I really hope she's in the third game in a major role.

It's a likely possibility but nothing has been confirmed.

I hope she returns in ME3 also.

when you finish probing her for info about her self, she says 'better luck next time'

when wrex is on his way back to the volus to tell him that aleena is dead, she sends him a message saying 'better luck next time'

only wrex knew she was alive. she changed her name so all past acquaintances would not be able to find her. she also mentions being a mercenary in the past.

i'm pretty sure that aria = aleena.

Yeah.... Cause it's TOTALLY impossible for any other asari to use the expression "better luck next time"...

That said... It's a lot of coincidences indeed... Reminds me of that never-officially-confirmed rumor in KotOR 2 about Kreia being Brianna's mother... Same deal : lots of clues to that conclusion but no confirmation, and no denial either.

I'm betting Bioware inserted the hints about her being Aleena and the Ilium bartender being Liara's other parent as inconclusive "rewards" for observant players. To encourage idle speculation.

They might very well be the people we suspect, but I believe this is as far as Bioware will take it. They won't be bringing Aleena in as a specific NPC, or revealing Liara's other parent. All we will have are these two plausible theories, but no final confirmation.

no offense to you guys..but it seems like you guys are looking for ways for it not to be her. It's extremely obvious..do you think Bioware so dull that they would put all this references just so that they had no relation? People are too cautious to make theories nowadays...just because you don't have something in writing doesn't mean you have to ignore the huge amount of evidence that is right before your eyes.

and to Mox Ruuga, I strongly disagree. Pulling this number out of my ass, but i'm guessing 95% of ME players don't go on the forums so they can talk about these crazy theories. There is no point in bringing them up if your never going to tell us if the speculation leads to anything. Basically what i'm saying is that there is a lot more reason for them to tell us about this than for them not to.

remember when Aria said "sometimes it is better to disapear than to have to kill a friend," and "better luck next time" both things that add credibility to aria being Aleena. Aleena disapeared after he fight with wrex and sent him a message that said better luck next time. There is a connection, plain and simple.

I think it's her. She mentions so much stuff that sounds like the asari Wrex fought. Especially when she talks about Patriarch not being the first Krogan she's pissed off and how sometimes she'd rather disappear than fight a friend. When you ask her about her past, she even says "Better luck next time".

I think theres too many clues for it to be unintentional.
