Also, she says "better luck next time" to Shep, which is the same line she said to Wrex. Damn it BioWare, stop teasing us!

I'm glad other people thought that. When she said better luck next time I immediately started thinking about Wrex's story.

I can't believe people are still making stupid theories like this
EVERYTHING IS NOT CONNECTED TO EVERYTHING

Before ME2 came out, people made stupid theories like Jack is Gilllian Grayson, Ashley's sister, Kaidan's girlfriend, that girl in I Remember Me and that she was in Major Kyle's cult. There was also theories that Samara is Liara's "father" and all kinds of stupid theories

Give it up people, they're completely new characters

Just because its an unlikely coincidence doesn't mean it should just be ignored. If everything played out they it probably would, then this game would be pretty boring.

I'm more favorable to Aethyta being Liara's father and i highly doubt Samara is the father.

To quote Aria: Better luck next time!!

.... Ok this theory is seriously plausible.

Liara is not an Ardat-Yakshi so I highly doubt that as well. Image IPB

Exactly. Besides Samara has been hunting morinth for 400 years. I doubt she had time to be with benezia.
Liara is less than 200 right?

HA! Just asked Aria about her past and when
the line "Better luck next time." fell I got chills.
Like a deja vu.
Knew that Wrex said that line but had to look it up in ME wikia first.
^^

Awesome.

Aria/Aleena is a very interesting character. I
hope we get to see Wrex and her get together in ME3 - or even better
both of them in my crew! :D

wholy shiesta, i'd never heard of this clue until now. I always that aria could be aleena, but  this really makes it likely in my mind.

Honestly, I was hoping for an honest Asari Commando in my party rather than Samara. Here's hoping Aleena/Aria has a big role in ME3 - she at least needs a reunion scene with Wrex.

If I recall she was 106 in the first game, she should be 108 now - So yes she is less than 200! Image IPB

Not sure if it's been postulated before, but what if the Shadow Broker is Liara's father?

With all of the emphasis placed on Liara's hunt for the SB (comics, in-game obsession) I think it would be a neat (if not predictable) revelation.

Assuming that the SB is a single being and not a whole host of individuals as theorised.

I dunno - I just think it would be neat.

Yeah, but this isn't just any Krogan and this isn't just any Asari.  It's Wrex and Aria.  Honestly if that kid doesn't end up some kind of system-conquering galactic warlord I'd be surprised.

Someone make us a sig already!

Evidence is already in place, no arguments for the contrary.

I've only played through once, so I can't remember 100% which Asari it is, but I think it's Aria... Anyways, said Asari says that her father was a Krogan, her mother was an Asari, the two of them fought and they're both still around.

So if it's Aria that says that, I'm pretty sure Aria is Wrex's and Aleena's daughter.

No.

• Thats not Aria, thats Aethyta an asari bartender on Illium
• That asari's parents died fighting each other.
• That asari is nearing 1000 years old.

She is however a likely candidate for being Liara's mother.

OT though, I do believe Aria is Aleena
  • Aria states that Patriarch is "not the first krogan I've ever pissed off" and informs Shepard that she has held many other names in the past, and was once a mercenary/asari commando.
  • In his story about Aleena, Wrex mentioned that he presumed her dead after a long battle, due to the location of their conflict being destroyed in a large explosion, until he received a message saying "Better Luck Next Time". Aria says that phrase--or a variation on it--on more than one occasion when speaking to Shepard.
  • When Shepard presses Aria by stating that "Old enemies means old friends", she looks slightly sad, replying "Sometimes you'd rather disappear than be forced to kill someone."

I thought Liara had Pure Blood parents?

Nice list, by the way. Stealing it for the group, unless you want to add a discussion thread!

I'm really getting the feeling that Aria is Aleena. I hope it ends up being true and we get to see this become reality in ME3

True, everything is not always connected to everything. However, in this case I think it is a fantastic theory.
The details that wrex gave us onboard the SR1 do seem to fit with what we know about Aria.  Very interesting indeed.  I think it is something that could very well prove to be correct in ME3.

You are Mass Effect 2 newbie apparently...

In ME 1 Liara stated pretty clear that both her both parents were ASARI! and because of that she is pure blood  child .
Bartender on Illum says as well that she was in relationship whit other Asari where she was "the father" and have pure blood child but she broke up that relationship (sounds familiar?) apparently can't whitstand insults throwing by other asari because of that fact.
Try to listening those two Asari near station of that Police(?) girl which gives you direction where you should look for Samara and you will realize of what hell Aethyta must very possibly endure before she broke up.
