And you've certainly been better behaved than I have been, so got no reason to dislike ya. I'll see ya around then, who knows, I might argue on your side next time.
Course, knowing me you may not want that.

While on the internet people tend to be a bit more expressive (me included) and I don't see that as necessarily bad, but just as human nature and whatever is said I believe it to be a celebration of mind.  All of it; the good, the bad and the ugly!

So, if I got to know you even just a little-bit better, then I can guess that I will know where you're coming from when you're arguing on my side the next time.  That has to be a good thing; right?

By the way, thanks for the compliment!

Hm, no problem. and I do understand what you mean about time and money, but since I don't know how much time and money it would cost, I can't make that judgement. To me i owuldn't think it would take too long, but yeah. I mean, if it takes a month, I'd back off, but a week, I'd probably say go for it.

It says on the back of the box "Contains strong language and moderate violence", but if you ask me it's moderate language and extreme violence; call me old fashioned but shooting people in the face is NOT moderate violence! (It would make an interesting defence in court, though. "You stand accused of killing several thousand people in a variety of painful ways; do you have anything to say before the jury deliberates on their verdict?" "Well it was only moderately violent, your honour...")

Anyway, like a million people before me have said, if you don't like swearing, don't buy something that has swearing in it, and perhaps consider that if a rude word offends you more than countless deaths you may have slightly skewed priorities.

To be honest, I was expecting a LOT more foul language with all the big stinks people made about it. i thought it was rather tame compared to what everyone was saying Bioware had done to it.

A few f-bombs here and there, but nothing too constantly foul.

Why is it that people find bad language ok in a shooter game but terrible in an RPG?

But it's both to some degree... minus the actual first person shooter.

Wow, that is over the top.
Nothing the OP has said was for a complete ceonsoring of the game. it was an option for a filter.
Maybe you should get over yourself.

Elbiggo brought up an interesting point though. Why be bothered about swearing in a game where killing is what moves you forward. Pretty confusing nihilism.

I do agree on that point, but people are strange creatures.

sorry, the first thing that comes to mind when i hear this garbage was this review i read on amazon for dragon age. he gave it a 0 stars, he said that he loved bioware games and counlt wait to play the "balders gate sequel" and then he said the assasin guy made gay sexuel passes toward him and he got so made that they "allowed gay choices" that he returned the game right then and there, and swore to never buy bioware games again. along with making that nasty review. its so hyprocritical and wrong. you can murder people but if one of them curses, it offends you? if your offended by cursing youve gota be some intraverted idoit who hasnt gone OUT SIDE. what is he some love child from a private school living in a gated community of old ladies who wont let blacks live their?

Wait, he won't buy another Bioware game again, but is waiting for the "Balder's gate sequal"? Weird guy. (hasn't there already been a sequal?)
But yeah, that's an entirely different bag of worms than not likeing F***. But i can understand how that would get you pissed off.
P.S. I bet he does get that icky feeling when he's forced to touch anyone who isn't a white male.

Jeez people, lighten up it's just a videogame.
So what you hear a 'fu@k' and a '****' every now and then during dialogue sequences. If you're mature enough you'll appreciate the realism of someone throwing out a vulgar remark during a stressful moment. If you're not, block it out of your subconcious and choose the Renegade option we're you shoot the guy point-blank in the head or electrocute him in the back with a tazer. It's Bioware's decision, not anyone elses to add censors or not. Personally, the swearing in ME1 and 2 felt like a polite English tea party than what I normally hear on a regular basis.
If enough people want a swearing filter, Bioware might include a censor in ME3. Maybe while they're at it, the guns will shoot rainbows and people will bleed chocolate syrup and explode into candy while they're at it. Just kidding, that's completely insensitive.

Ha.
But then again, I hate the people who blame vidoes games for anyone. But I get where you're coming from, I just see it as two different issues.
After all, if you don't like the assassin hitting on you, don't talk to him, don't bring him in your team. seems pretty simple.

Well now...

Trolling a forum post and calling someone stupid after reading this bit of literary genius is an object lesson in irony. Let's fix it.

I've read a pretty nicely worded and neatly constructed letter from a white supremacist before, they were still stupid and wrong, just like this person who's complaining about language. what's next? are you gonna come down hard if we're allowed to have gay male relations because it's "taboo"? you need to get over yourself.

That last line...you should follow it yourself.

As for the topic, a filter wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for those that want it.

Now I feel good for not commenting on that.
And not sure it's equal to crouching animation (not sure what you mean) but i do agree that being offended by swearing is really off the deepend.

There was a similar thread before ME2 was released right when Jack trailer came out. BW came and closed the thread as spam, with a short coment that such filter will not be implemented.

Personaly I don't care about bad language. At some points it fits very nicely. While there is a small problem: game rated as M, so owners of the game can hear all f words and such as much as they want. But lot sof times I have guests who come with their children (yeah im not a nice host if I can play games with my friend while our wifes and children play elsewhere) and we allways have to be on a lookout for coming children so that we will have time to take care of sound in case say Jack will start f-ing everthing. And it just annoying not only in ME2 but in other games.

I understand that we knew what we were buying and should not complain too much. Some games over my limits and I don't buy them, instead of asking developers to make a filter. Im rather making a general point to show that this is not a very simple metter of buy or dont.

It's got an M on the game for a reason. It's Bioware's right to have that language in the game. If you don't like it, then don't play.

That's harsh. I would not equate disliking swearing and requesting a filter for a game, the same as fanatics that kill hundreds or thousands, or millions of people because they aren't the right type of person.
