This is not a slam thread this is a what i like along with what i think needs improvement for ME3, I am a relative new comer to Bioware titles but as an avid gamer for over 20 years i have been around the block. Bioware is THAT game company that makes games for the more mature audience, Bioware games require thought from the player, so long as they keep that up i am in.The biggest killer for me would be the inability to influence game events, to go into a situation having done the "homework and required reading" but still have an arbitrary outcome. The game was good but i never really felt part of the world, more like an observer, i want immersion and the only way i can think of doing that is details.
The following are not game breakers just "what ifs" where improvment could be made. True to being part of the solution i come bearing problems but i think solutions as well.

As a gamer with over 20 years of FPS gaming i have developed the chronic reload syndrome. The new heat sink ammo control bothered me a bit, I would use 6 out of a 24 round clip to kill a target and then reload with 18 left. You can not do that you just tossed 18 away, kind of weird. I preferred the passive cooling of ME over this system.

Mining of the planets was good and bad but with a tweak could have been even better. My idea is that you still have to scan the entire planet, as you scan an area the grid would change colors to signify that that area was scanned. You would also set parameters for deposit sizes and as you scanned an area if there was a deposit that met your minimum criteria (3 boxes or 5 boxes) it would mark that spot so you could go back to it after the planet was scanned and mine those metals. Launching probes was ok it was just tedious to find the small sweet spot, why not allow the comp to mark it according to your flexible parameters, and it should remember the scan even if you leave the planet or the system.
There was no real way to make money in the game and i would like more economics, if i understand it right Cerberus is no longer footing the bills for the Normandy and her crew. I want a way to make money besides just cracking a few wall safes. I want money to be a resource that you must earn either by, stealing (renegade), mining planets and selling metals on a market, hiring your ship out as a merc boat, and i am sure some folks will come up with other ideas as well. I would like to have to manage money, to pay the crew, fuel, probes, repairs, upgrades and you would have to pretty much run the boat like a bussiness. Money seemed to have no real value once a few critical upgrades were purchased i would like to have to scramble, to hustle a buck.
I would also like to see more life on the ship. I would like to be able to shoot darts or pool with squadies or regular crew similar in to what was done in GTA4. I would also like this interaction to have an impact on the loyalty and skill of both. I really liked chasing down a few items for the cook, doc and the engineers, and would like this expanded on.  Pulling into port should be an event where some of the crew disembarks and like sailors on shore leave look for some form of entertainment. You might see a few folks from CIC in Afterlife, the option to buy a round to boost thier loyalty would be nice. This could also involve dealing with the typical commander's duties of going to C-Sec and getting a few of the folks out of the slammer. I want to be Commander Shepard and want the details of that duty to be a part of the game.

I am going to get slammed for this but i still have not had anyone explain why i can not have it to my satisfaction. I want romance options to be completely wide open, with no restrictions. If i am willing to meet what ever criteria the developers deem then i should be able to romance any character regardless of male or female. This could be handled quite simply, when you meet the criteria to romance that particular character a dialog option opens up and the player must select it, something like "Express romantic interest", and the love train leaves the station. I do not care if a femshep or a dudeshep has to jump through hoops to romance Gabby so long as it is attainable and most important completely optional.

I liked the idea of customizing my quarters i would like to be able to do more in that regard. I would also like to customize armors for both myself and my squadies in greater detail similar to ME but even more selections or design them myself in game. I would also like to customize crew uniforms, my casual attire, the casual attire of my squadies similar to what you could do for the PC in Saints Row 2 but on every member of the crew.

There probably is a way to do this but i could not find it, i need a way to assign my squad points without having to drag each one out individually at port. This is a tedious process even more so that mining. The DAO system worked real well i that in camp you could bring up every teammate and assign thier points during camp down time.

I have completed one play through so as i work on my second run i am sure there will be a few other items i would like to add and i will as they pop up. Alot of the time in games as i play them i often ask myself "what if" as in what if this worked this way, or what if i could do this instead. Try and stay close to the motif i started, come with a problem but also bring a solution as well. No one likes a negative nelly. I think Bioware made a good game i and i feel that if a few areas were enhanced provided depth by details it could be even better. I also think that any suggestions should have a setting so that can be ignored or required depending on the experience the player is looking for.
