I can only play the game for about 15 minutes and then my computer just turns off. I have no idea why it would do this. anyone know what I can do. It sucks spending $50 on a new game and only being able to play it in 15 minute increments. thanks!

Could you be a bit more descriptive? Does it just power down in a second, does it blue screen, or does it shut down like normal(just without input)?

Its the weirdest thing ever to tell you the truth i will just be playing it and with no warning it just turns off like i was holding the power button down. No blue screen or warning or anything. i've been playing computer games for over 14 years and this is new to me

Overheating i guess.

It doesn't overheat with any other game. That was my first thought though

Do you play any other high performance games? it could just be that the system doesn't hit load a lot and you are only now discovering the issue.
Have you checked the fans for dust?
When you open the case is the air inside hot?
What voltage is you PSU? You could be overloading it, may i ask what GPU your using?

I had this problem on Empire: TW on my old power supply. I was the same as it only did it that game and never on anything else (even Crysis). Someone told me it was the PSU and I upgraded to a new one and no more problems. This might not be the same case for you, but look into it.

I might try it because it does not seem like a software error. mine doesnt mess up playing crysis either and its a 500 watt PSU though

I would try a new PSU if you have one laying around, but a 500w should run all, but major rigs and those two or more newer cards. I would also check the fans a can't count the number of times i have had the same issue come into the office and it was dust clogging the fans.

My computer is doing the same thing, randomly powers down with no warning. I thought I was a over heating but I think I've ruled it out after checking cpu and board temps in the bios right after. I've updated drivers, tried changing virtual memory settings ect. seems to me like its a software issue somewhere. psu is 650 watts
running 2 x Nvidia 9600 SLI ...I haven't tried disabling sli but I don't think that is the issue either.
If any one has any advice let me know

posted about this issue in the ATI card thread. I am having the same issue. My system is not overheating I have a corsair TX650 watt PSU and am running a single ATI 4870 card. Havn't had this issue with any other game...trying to tweak stuff but nothing has helped so far.

I was having an over heating problem. I popped the side off of my case and put a desk fan next to the opening to blow air in, and i just played for 2 hours straight without a power down...my board temps showed normal too by the way before i just tried this. I guess my ATI radeon HD 4830 just runs way too hot.

I had the same problem about a week back with a different game and in my case it was a bad power supply. It worked fine aside from a couple of games would push it too hard, I suppose. I replaced it with a decent one (Corsair tx750) and all has been rock solid since.
