the modders need their own forum far away from here. i'd love to contribute to the scene but this layout is such a PoS. any chance someone with more motivation can crank out a forum for it?

Yup, me ....
It's almost done, I'm just having trouble with a poorly coded attachment manager, trying to find where the dimensions are stored for its popup is annoying me, its not high enough so people have to scroll.
I'll probably open it tomorrow evening when I've licked the final bugs and finished making the last of the forums on the board.

it is possible (and rather easy) to attach any weapon or armor bonus on to any armor piece, including stacking multiples into one piece, including any DLC armor bonuses. you could have any of the Arms, for example, convey all the bonuses of the Terminus armor + 3% health + 10% shield regen.
it is not possible, yet, to combine multiple text entries in the armor description.
if this is already being worked on, blame my joy on redundant/concurrent evolution.

Could someone reskin Thane's coat to not have his chest showing and his arms gloved?
Basically, like, none of his body showing through the suit?

One thing though, has there been any progress on modifying the DLC armor to remove the helmets? Its a very small issue but it'd be pretty cool none-the-less. I'm assuming it would involve completely redoing the models?

oh wow, thanks! this thread has been really useful. With the help of the appearance pack I've been able to reskin the casual uniforms and get them working as mission armor, and other little tweaks like that.

unfortountly it's not possible. We could edit the models and remove the helmets, but we can't get them back into the game. and because of that all the DLC armor is stuck just the way it is.
Luckily bioware leaked some new armor pieces when they showed the screen shots for the arc projector. So hopefully those new pieces will be with upcoming DLC.

So it's a general case of being unable to get any edited models at all back into the game? that sucks
Unrelated, but does anyone here have a list of all the ME1 style light and medium armors in the game files? I got these working from the .ini someone posted a while ago:
and was wondering if there were any others out there.

New firewalker pack dlc overwrites coalesced file?
this is 100% correct. It installs the 1.01 patch while installing the DLC (regardless of whether or not you have it installed) which then overwrites the coalesced.

Also, there is a new loading movie installed with the firewalker pack, we should get that shorted too, like a me2mods does.

It didn't overwrite mine. It failed to install the patch, but installed the DLC itself. It said at the end that "installation failed" (which wasn't true except for the patch). It might be because my exe is renamed to UT3 to enable anti-aliasing.

Okay, I'm a PC noob here - I've played ME1 to death and ME2 as well now, both on the 360. I am in the process of building a new PC, and I picked up ME2 for PC in anticipation, with plans to pick up the original game for PC at some poit as well. Welp, I can't wait any longer so I am going to install ME2 on a borrowed PC. My question is about building a character with the same background and story decisions that I had with one of my 360 ME1 characters. Now, I know I can't import across platforms, and I am aware that you can import saves people have put out there on the web - but what I'd like to do if possible is simply edit a character to exactly the specs I want. I'm kind of guessing this isn't really possible with out at least a base save to import (i.e. using a shared save), but after the fact, is it possible to edit your character manually?
Thanks for any tips, and again - sorry if this is the wrong place to post this
