Why, you can see the normandy throughout the game or in artwork/pictures, the mods that can be done are all inside the gameplay as far as I am aware, so I don't believe anyone has tried.
was thinking on the backgrund in the start menu but yeah maybe u right cant seem to find eny

Just take your changes from original coalesced.ini and paste them into new ini file. Then run the fixer.

Open up your Coalcead.ini with Notepad++ and go to the Loadout section. [SFXGame.SFXPlayerSquadLoadoutData]
Then scroll all the way to the end of the section until you see
HenchmenSpecialWeapons
There are 2 lines. One for Grunts Shotgun and one for Legions Sniper rifle.
Add a new line after them and paste the following line in it.
---------------------------
HenchmenSpecialWeapons=(WeaponclassName="SFXGameContent_Inventory.SFXWeapon_MassCannon",HenchmanclassName=SFXPawn_Garrus,UnlockPlotName=Tec_SniperRifle)
---------------------------
That will give Garrus the Widow as well.
For the Shotgun, use this line:
------------------------------
HenchmenSpecialWeapons=(WeaponclassName="SFXGameContent_Inventory.SFXWeapon_FlakGun",HenchmanclassName=SFXPawn_Tali,UnlockPlotName=Tec_Shotgun)
------------------------------
That will grant Tali the ability to use the Heavy Shotgun.
You´ll notice that the unlock plot is Tec_SniperRifle and Tec_Shotgun. This needs to be done or the weapons cant be selected somehow.
If you want a different Team Member to get the weapons, Thane for example (he can use Sniper rifles and shotguns) just add another line for the sniper rifle and the one for the shotgun. Then change SFXPawn_Tali to SFXPawn_Thane.
Thats it, now save your changes and fix your C.ini with ruby or the ini fixer and your good to go.

Horrible results on Normandy.

I used the process outlined here with the save edits.
Tried it again switching out the hair instead of the helmet. Again, works fine planetside. On the Normandy, not so much.

Does anybody have any idea what I can do about this? I have been reading and learning a lot from this thread but I feel like I've hit a wall.
To offer some value as a contributor in spite the fact that I know relatively little of the theory and logic behind modding, I have been transferring a lot of info from this thread over into Azureum's Modding forum here for easier reference.
I read about the armor locker in the menu trick but I'm having trouble understanding how to edit it to do what I want. Would it even help me with this problem since it still defaults to casualwear on the Normandy?
Plays halp.

Forget messing with the ini file. This is quicker and better. Not to mention easier:)
Download Riva Tuner. And install.
http://www.majorgeek...ownload737.html
Once at The "Main" tab select the bottom customize option.
Click the "X" (should be the 2nd one).
Navigate to "Intellisample" tab.
Slide to high performance.
Click Apply
If asked to reboot, do so.
Run MassEffect2.exe
No more low FPS! Instead of 10-18 FPS during TIM cutscene's and now they run in excess of 50 FPS!
Only exception is when viewing the Sun behind TIM. About 21 FPS (still a good jump from 12FPS)
Sweet victory.

Modding 360 not possible at this point.
As I've said before, yes it is ... you need xplorer 360 or xport 360 and the compatible software to get the save file onto your PC, gibbed released a 360 compatible version.

What issues does ATI have with TexMod?
From what I understand Riva Tuner should work with any Graphics card though.
