Hey everybody.. I think the single most popular mod we could possibly make is a helmet toggle option! There must be a clever way to do it like in ME1. Any talented people out there willing to give it a go?

The fullbodyarmors have the helmet built in. You can't make it a toggle unless you edit the model.

I've got every other teammates body working except Jacks for some reason. NPC bodies seem impossible at the moment.

I just wish we had a way of loading extracted models somehow, or modifying the UDK to create pcc files, or something along those line.

Aria's body is located in "BioD_OmgHub_220DenBar.pcc" as "HMF_ARM_LGTd_MDL".

Thanks much, I figured it'd be somewhere in the Omega files.  Is Morinth's commando suit in that group as well?

NarfGarg-----maybe Jack's simply one of those "doesn't work for some reason we'll never figure out" bodies.  There were quite a few like that from Feros in ME 1.   You could use almost any body in the game for Shepard in ME 1 (even NPC krogans)---except for a few from Feros!  Notably the mother/daughter scientists.  I could never get either one to work, despite them (seemingly) being basically identical to every other female scientist in the game.  And a few of the colonists there IIRC.  Just something about Feros...

Has anyone tried renaming/swapping model files yet?  That was actually how a lot of ME 1's "nude" codes worked---I tried to get asari commando armor for female party members that way, but it didn't work (always got either naked asari or dancer asari, neither of which was what I wanted in a firefight against geth).  Most of the time it wouldn't work at all, but occasionally you'd get an outfit swap to work.

Give it time. I'm sure someone will figure out something.

Unreal Engine 3, though unfriendly to the modding community, seems diverse enough for people to apply coding and patches to make it bend to our will.

What would be nice is if BioWare would stop being prudes and just give us a SDK...there's no reason not to.

It's an engine issue, not something that can be fixed with modding.

Regarding "NPC appearances that disappear because they don't load" like the dancer outfit. In coalesced, starting at line 2709 (according to Notepad++) there's a list of files under "packages to always cook". And the listing does seem to mainly be "Shepard model files". Thus, they may be the ones that the game always loads as they're often needed---anyone experimented with this section?

Alright so i've been messing around with adding new armors from existing full body armor models and the sort and i am trying to add in a new helmet. The helmet i am looking to add in is joker's little space helmet thing he has in the prologue on the original normandy. I may have found the model but when i add it in as a new helmet it shows up as nothing at all on my head. anyone able to help find the correct model if i dont have the right one? or if i have the right one what am i doing wrong!?

Peterflam. I am using unreal model viewer to search the pcc files for what i need. i know the heavy male shepard body armor (not the helmet) 's package is:
BIOG_HMM_ARM_HVY_R
and the object is:
HMM_ARM_HVYb_MDL

dunno if that helps

Has anyone found out how to add and take away powers yet? I'd love to mix and match powers.

thanks, but there's still some missing info. i'll try to guess the texture name.

edit: it works. you just need to replace all instance of "med" with "hvy" in the texture name(using medium armor texture as template). i've placed it as a casual appearance.

Hi, just asking can you make a mod with Quarian armor/casual outfit but take the mask off to show your Shepard face for both male and Female?

Hi, like to use the 1st outfit Shepard wears in the intro but can I use notepad ++ to change or add this file?

Yes you can use notepad ++ to add it in. um Its as simple as adding in a few lines of code as a new armor and then recompiling the coalesced file. if you need help with that look at previous posts.

I personally use the program called Mass Effect 2 Coalesced Compiler which in my opinion makes editing the coalesced file much easier.

Never mind my last post, I was able to get the Illusive Man's suit as my casual outfit. Still, does anyone know how to add Jacob's armor in Notepad ++?

Yeah I wish NarfGarg will release a tutorial for all of his work sometime soon, eager to try all these combinations out too.:)

I have a funny feeling that it will only work in certain areas though, much like wearing the exotic dancer outfit. That is, unless he found a way to force load the necessary packages to make those combinations possible anywhere in game.

Not necessarily. You should check out the ini.file from l0stl0rd on page 9,it gives the original N7 Armor among other things as combat armor. So it isn't impossible to have these goodies off the ship as well.

Yeah, the .ini file he posted back there is something that's been touched up on a lot. There's still plenty of NPC models/textures that can't be worn unless you're in an area where the package file is loaded. I have a funny feeling that the armors that are wearable in l0stl0rd's .ini were armors that Shepard was supposed to be able to wear but never made it into the final build. For example, the additional 4 pieces of casual wear are within the same package file as the default 4 casual wear models, which is why those can be loaded into the game without issue.
