Update: I have created a group called "Mass Effect 2 Texture Modders"

This group will consist of people whos profiles contain texture mods that you can download.

Requirements for entry are simple:

1) You must have created at least one texture mod.

2) It must be available to download from your profile.

3) Don't be mean to others. :D

It
is an easy place for people to click on the profiles of members of the
group, navigate to their projects, and see a complete and easy list of
texture mods that are available.

The program texmod and instructions on use and troubleshooting are included in my own profile.

If you have developed a texture mod and would like to join the group just lemme know. :)

I haz update:


I have made a different version of the
firestorm flamethrower. Instead of yellow it will be red both in game
and in the weapon selection screen. I hope you like it.

When loading textures with texmod do you have to load them each time you play the game or just on the first occasion?

Taking some time to enjoy the game, now :)

I also uploaded new pics to my projects of new stuff I am working on and fixed the 2 versions. zip - In my rush to package the mod I accidently put two unsealed versions in the same zip lol. This has been fixed

By tonight I plan to have 4 versions
-1 Black sealed
-1 Black Unsealed
-1 Black No Logo's Sealed
-1 Black No Logo's Unsealed

Jacob_Miranda_In_Black (4 Versions).zip

Its more convenient to package them together and it keeps projects area nice and clean.

I am using standard collector armor in that screenshot, the only thing that is modded is the firestorm.

This is something to do with the ini files or the save game editor, I will try and see if there is a way to modify them with the textures, but no promises.

What are you guys using to mod the textures? U you use texmod to find the textures and another app to mod the texture and then texmod to reapply? Can anyone throw up a quick step through including the shareware apps your using? Thanks

For those of you (adepts mostly) who whine about shields/armor blocking biotics, here is the solution to your problems:



BIOGame

[SFXGame.SFXGameConfig]

bShieldsBlockPowers=true



Set it to "false" and go play Insanity with your Adept, you will then find that insanity is casual dificulty.



As for those that requested Garuss unscathed, his face, scripts with plots etc are in a .pcc and until we can't recompress contents to .pcc we can't edit any NPC-looks except with texmod.

Well this is one I found for guildwars Bianco can you modify this for any ME2 particulars?



Creating a Mod.



Open up Texmod and select your Target Appliacation, direct it to your Guildwars executable (gw.exe).

Select "Logging Mode"

Keep all values at the standard value if you're not sure what you're doing.

Select your output folder.

Press "Run!" to run Guildwars with Texmod.

Now once inside the game you can browse through the loaded textures with the "+" and "-" key. You can capture a texture and export it to your Output folder with the "Enter" key if you did not change it.

Once exported just use your favourite image editor to edit the textures to your liking and save them.

Compiling the mod.





Be sure all your modified textures are in the same directory.

Open up Texmod, select your Target Application (gw.exe) and switch to "Package Build".

As a definition file use the "Texmod.log" inside the folder where your textures are.

Enter your name in the Creator textbox and add some additional info to explain what the mod does or anything.

Press "Build" and save it somewhere on your pc.

Texmod will save it as a *.tpf file which can be loaded with Texmod at any time.

Using a mod.





Open up Texmod and select your Target Application.

Switch to "Package Mode".

Add the mod(s) you wish to use and press "Run" to run the game.

Now the mod should be working and u'll start noticing the changes pretty soon.

FAQ



Q. Are the mods i'm loading into my game permanent?

A. No, because they're loaded through Texmod it does NOT modify your gw.dat and they can be easilly switched off by quitting the game, exiting Texmod and start the game normally.



Q. Is it possible to get banned for editing these textures?

A. You will not get banned as long as you are not editing the textures to give you an unfair advantage over others.



Q. Do other people see my ultimate pwnage weaps and armorz?

A. No, the mod you are using is completely client-sided and other people will NOT see them as long as they are not using your mod.

The GIMP, a free multi-platform image manipulation program, orginally for Linux.

It's not as powerful as Photoshop but it's free and easy to use. There are also some tuts on the website.
