I really haven't been following this thread. How'd you do that? And is it possible to change Shepard's head to Grunt's head too, to complete the entire model?

I think there was some trick to do it with the casual outfit. But it'll work outside of normandy atleast.

Texmod will react differently with every pc. Try disabling antiviruses, closing useless processes in Task Manager. Also, make sure you have the correct .exe file loaded into your package mode after the 1.01 patch. There should be a slight fps drop, but nowhere near 20 from 60. I only get 50-55 fps when running texmod.


dude, same thing here man. Maybe i'm diong the wrong exe, masseffec2.exe?

But even on a clean install of XP with nothing else installed, on the CIC of the normandy when looking toward the front i get 60 without texmod. 25-30 with. even with only one texmod package loaded with one image.

Probably v-sync is messing with your framerate. If your ref rate is 60 and if texmod lowers your fr to 59, v-sync lowers it to nearest compatible, which is 50%(30fps) try forcing v-sync off in GPU control panel, or in 'Coalesced.ini'(not sure which entries though)

So, has anyone actually figured out what the deal is with editing Coalesced.ini in 1.01 is? Did the patch actually, deliberately or otherwise, impede the efforts for folk to mod the game? Is there a way to reliably edit it? The patch wiped all my edits, so I remade them all by hand instead of importing an original one back in, then fixed it with the Ruby script - perhaps the Ruby script no longer works properly with the structure from 1.01? Failing all else, is it possible to downgrade to 1.00 on Steam? :(

Well yes. Working on the me2mod file, some things are still a bit wonky.

Lmao, re the sound issue its something I find happens as well, my guess is your running Boarderless Windowed mode as well?  Regardless when the sound goes just click on this the sound icon in the bottom right of the task bar and sound should come back as if by magic.

I'm with you on this one. Vanilla Legion is my thing, but maybe you could make him whole white(like troopers in ME1 - no pink marking, no lovely hearts, no red skin, just clean white)? I don't know how this would look, might be nice, but I won't bet my life on it.
And [humbly] maybe some ideas about black 'beret hat'... please?

For adding the Armours as a Casual gear its: CasualAppearances, what is it for Armour, I'm looking at [SFXGame.SFXPawn_Player] and from the looks of things each of the armour aspects is listed in its parts, so whats the correct syntax for it?

Yeah I could look into a classic ME1 white geth look for legion, and like you said no promises cuz I dont know how good it would come out either. :) uh can you update me to what the "beret hat" issue is?

Changing UseVSync and ForceFullVSync to false had no effect for me.

Doable now apparently but they will stay red, still need to test that.

edit:
I did a small test fallowing Gibbeds small tutorial and it works.



  • Open save in Save Editor.
  • Change to Raw tab.
  • Expand Squad > Player > Appearance > Morph Head >
    Texture Parameters.
  • Open the Texture Parameters list.
  • Add two new entries as follows:

    code:
    Name: EYE_Diff
    Value: BIOG_HMM_HED_PROMorph.IllusiveMan.HMM_HED_PROIllusiveman_Eye_Diff
    code:
    Name: EYE_Spec
    Value: BIOG_HMM_HED_PROMorph.IllusiveMan.HMM_HED_PROIllusiveman_Eye_Spec
EYE_Diff and EYE_Spec did not exist in my savegame I had to add them.
But the colour will stay red even if you change the iris colour in the editor.
