Is there a way to add new helmets to the character or can only 'full models' be used? I'm interested in the merc armour specifically.

Properly adding NPC apparel is difficult to do because of the way the file structures are flagged. As it stands, it's only possible to add apparel if the file we're pulling it from is being used for NPCs. The best example is Kelly's dancer outfit. The only way to wear her outfit is to have her present in your cabin when you put the suit on.SithLordExarKun wrote...

With that said, we're going to need to mess around with the actual file database in order to permanently add NPC apparel to Shepard's wardrobe without the need of a NPC being present when you change outfits. We won't be able to do this until someone figures out a way to compile a .pcc file.

My biggest gripe so far have been the heavy armor look on my adept character. I'm quite pleased with this

It's possible to get blue suns, elipse, and pretty much all the medium armors from ME1 (even N7 one)
This particular one from the screenshot is gotten by adding FullBodyAppearances=(Id=3,Type=CustomizableType_Torso,Mesh=(Female="BIOG_HMF_ARM_MED_R.MEDa.HMF_ARM_MEDa_MDL",FemaleMaterialOverride="BIOG_HMF_ARM_MED_R.MEDa.HMF_ARM_MEDa_MAT_1a"),GameEffects=("SFXGame.SFXGameEffect_Gear_PowerBelt"),PlotFlag=-1) line
Not sure what it does to armor stats, but I am a happy bunny!

Quick and dirty:
Open up your coalesced.ini scroll up to line 4079 where the casual appearances start.
Somewhere in that vacinity plug
FullBodyAppearances=(Id=3,Type=CustomizableType_Torso,Mesh=(Female="BIOG_HMF_ARM_MED_R.MEDa.HMF_ARM_MEDa_MDL",FemaleMaterialOverride="BIOG_HMF_ARM_MED_R.MEDa.HMF_ARM_MEDa_MAT_1a"),GameEffects=("SFXGame.SFXGameEffect_Gear_PowerBelt"),PlotFlag=-1)
It will show on your armor picker as armor, btw. Also, this is for female characters and will show up as the screenshot I posted above.
To add medium N7 armor after this one, paste this line next:
FullBodyAppearances=(Id=5,Type=CustomizableType_Torso,Mesh=(Female="BIOG_HMF_ARM_MED_R.MEDb.HMF_ARM_MEDb_MDL",FemaleMaterialOverride="BIOG_HMF_ARM_MED_R.MEDb.HMF_ARM_MEDb_MAT_1a"),GameEffects=("SFXGame.SFXGameEffect_Gear_PowerBelt"),PlotFlag=-1)
It will show up as this:
http://img39.imagesh...i/38337757.jpg/

And do not forget to recompile your .ini or your game will not start at all
I've no clue if those actually have any benefits for health/shilds/powers. But they are nice appearance-wise

You need to use the Gibbed.Masseffect2 SaveEditor, you can download it here:http://www.annakie.com/me/mods.htm
Start it up and open a savegame that you want to edit.
1.Under the raw tab in "2.Squad" you have to open the player directory/appearance/Morph head.
2.There you find the "Hair Mesh" line, on the right side there should be something like "BIOG_HMF......"
3.You need to replace that line with the one you want, in your case it's "BIOG_HMF_HIR_PRO.Sexy.HMF_HIR_Sxy_MDL"
4.A little further down there's a line "Texture Parameters" you need to open it by pressing that little "..." button
5.In there you'll find four lines, specifically
Hair_Diff=BIOG.....
Hair_Norm=BIOG.....
Hair_Mask=BIOG.....
Hair_Tang=BIOG.....
In all of these four lines you have to change the" value" on the right side to the desired hairstyle, in your case it's also "BIOG_HMF_HIR_PRO.Sexy.HMF_HIR_Sxy_MDL"
6.When you made those changes you need to overwrite the savegame and then load it up in the game, the new hairstyle should then be on your character.
@l0stl0rd
Very nice work on that skinwork.Thanks to your advice I also could give my shepard those alternate hairstyles, they are far superior to the standard ones that's for sure :happy:.

You said you wanted to reskin all the DLC Armor, right?
If so could you please also add a Cerberus "Black & White" style of them as well?
Essentially what you already did with the inferno armor in black, only with a white stripe pattern.

I added this to my armor
GameEffects=("SFXGameContentDLC_PRE_DA.SFXGameEffect_Gear_DA_PowerBonus","SFXGameContentDLC_PRE_DA.SFXGameEffect_Gear_DA_ShieldBonus")
Gives me the same bonus as my DA armor

hmm... anyone tested Unreal Development Kit (http://www.udk.com/download.html) ? Does it offer any useful tools?
I tried to set PackagesToAlwaysCook to miranda's outfit package (SeekFreePackage=BioH_Vixen_01), but didn't solve problem - outfit just doesn't load. I guess next logical step is to create own pcc file - one way or another - and include copy of Miranda's outfit there.

Problems:
Can't open the pcc files in it.
I added some exported models and textures to a package that I renamed to pcc and tried to load it in Mass Effect and the game crashed
