Download here: social.bioware.com/project/2180/#files

There
are currently the three colors to choose from. The color change will
affect the standard crosshair, sniper rifle crosshair, and the heavy
weapon crosshair.

I am open to doing other colors on request.

Enjoy. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/angel.png[/smilie]

Awesome stuff! Thank you so much!

@dch...

your welcome :)

@everyone else:

I have updated my crosshairs project with another color, white. I don't know how I forgot this color when I first made it. Anyway, enjoy it. The color will be included among the others in the "Files" tab of the project. Clicking on the big download tab will only give you the BLUE crosshairs.

Update:

Announcing a project created solely with all you lady spectres in mind:

"Gunz for Girlz"

This
project will give you weapons with a feminine touch by adding the color
magenta as details and "injections" while preserving the overall gritty
metallic real world look. I do my best to imagine how a lady would like
these, so if any female galaxy saviors have input, by all means lemme
know. :)

So far, I have completed the pistol and heavy pistol.
Soon more will follow until all standard and some not so standard
weapons are included. Look for updates in this project by subscribing
to it.

You may choose what gun(s) you want in the "files tab of the project.

And download link as usual:

So I hope you enjoy them and feedback from ladies is welcome, look forward to more guns soon!

I thought pink and red are the classic girl colors?

@pottman

i lold :P

@Andaius20

Well magenta is basically pink for grown ups lol. and there are already lots of guns with red like the machine gun, the avenger, my modded incisor sniper rifle, my cain nuke gun, my modded firestorm flamethrower just to name a few.

I decided to start this project because I noticed that most of my mods are geared towards men. Except for a few with casual wear, armors crosshairs and maybe the vindicator with magenta details. I have also started encouraging my texture modder friends in the group to start taking into consideration that there are lots of ladies who deserve attention in modding stuff. :)

Edit: Plus, if I started making guns pink and red it would look too stereotypical and lose realism in the game. I try to make them for real Spectre women, (or at least female characters) if I made them all pink and red it might as well be called "Barbie Effect 2".   :P

Whoa, Bianco. If changing the crosshair is possible, is changing the hud possible as well??

It'd be fan-freaking-tastic to see the hud gone back to the good 'ole blueness.

MY

GAWD

I dont know how in the hell I missed that, but I am hard at work on it now, I agree I completely hate all the orange and yellow in this game, including the HUD. Hopefully I should have something up in the next 24 hours. Thanks for giving me the idea, I dont know why I totally spaced on that!

Hey, I was wondering if it is posible to size down shepards head by only a small amount using RCW's gibbed save game editor? My femshep wears jack's outfit and there is clipping around the neck no matter the size of shepards neck. So I was wondering if i can make here head around the size of jack's head using head morphing to get rid of the clipping. The solution doesn't have to use the save editor, I will except any method of fixing it.

It's not that bad after all...it was blue in ME1 cos you were Alliance/Spectre, and now orange because you're Cerberus...

Anyway, if well done it'll be cool to see :)

I wish we could recolour the GUI. It's kind of sad that only the armour can be recoloured.

Loving the color changed crosshairs. I only wish that we could make it into a keybind (to change the colors in game) but alas from what I gatther that is not possible. Silly Unreal Engine!!!!

Oh and I'm loving the magenta accents.  Looks good, understated.  I would recommend avoiding the hello kitty look though.

Tevor Bloodscythe, I doubt that Shepard's head can really be modified unless someone finds a way to import models back into ME2.  If someone creates a program to make this possible, I could make Shepard's head and neck fit Jack's body easily.  There's quite a bit i'd like to do with models and mesh in this game but without programs to properly import and export things, it's just not going to happen for now.

I remember a while back someone commented that they'd like the smg to be longer more like a real smg and less like an automatic pistol, that also would be easy to do.  When it comes to textures, models, mesh and similar things, there is very little that I cannot do but my problem is that I don't have the programming knowledge to create any programs to properly extract and re-compile data files.  I think that is the main reason that some games do not see the type of mods that they could.

Sometimes we get lucky and someone with programming knowledge comes along and creates a nice program or two.  It's too bad that Bioware is smarter than Gearbox because a game that uses the ue3 engine, Borderlands, from last year, Gearbox slipped up and left an unreal editor in the game's installation and people were able to create mods using that but it was buggy, however if I remember right, last I looked at that stuff for Borderlands, people were making good progress at working around the bugs to create new maps and other things but Bioware is a much bigger company than Gearbox so it's no surprise they removed that stuff.

I'd like to find a way to make all material variations of armors and outfits show up for armor and not just limited to casual attire.  I like Miranda's black loyalty outfit but it won't show up for armor, just for casual.  It'd also be nice to find a way to deal with the sound issues that come with using the henchman armors, I know that toggle option I added helps but it's not 100%, i've had to quick save and load to get the sound properly working before but only once so far but still.  If I forget to toggle it right before the end of a mission, there's the normandy with no sounds unless I toggle it and use the elevator.

-Edit-
Tropicalwave, you'd think there would be options for the crosshair since it is a ue3 game and the unreal tournament games all have the option to change crosshair colors and styles but I suppose Bioware didn't think it was important.

@southbeatz1169 I meant more about the 'modability' built into the engine more than anything else. Though I have to admit I didn't know that in Unreal Tournament you could change it. From what I've been able to tell is that you cannot keybind such a thing with the tools we have and since bioware wanted us to have Cerberus orange for crosshaiirs...

I assume that the game makers have a huge amount of choices in what they can do with the engine but from what I've heard they don't like modders to have acees to the engine. At least we get .ini's that we can do stuff with.

Bioware doesn't mind modding usually, they actually support it for some of their games and provide toolsets so i'm not sure why they went against modding for the mass effect series. I would assume that if crosshair colors cannot be binded then it is because bioware did not put multiple colors in for them and most likely only put in just the colors they wanted.

It's a shame though because the unreal engine was originally intended to be very moddable and the early games for it which were unreal tournament games are easy to mod and had editors and such for it but then when they began allowing other companies to use that game engine, these other companies often go out of their way to make the games harder to mod. I believe every pc game like this one should have a toolset or editor because the developers cannot satisfy everyone playing.

Some people play me2 through several times, i'd think many of us do that but you can only do the same things so many times before you move on to something else and forget me2 and by time me3 comes out, it's not as big of a deal at first. If anything, mods would keep a game alive a lot longer and the next release would likely get a better reaction but perhaps these companies just don't want people playing one game too much because then people might find less interest in buying other games.

Found out how to disable the selection thingie (though disabling that disabled the ability to select stuff, soooo)

How'd you manage it? I'm making a movie/playthrough and trying to angle the camera around the selection crosshairs is a pain, especially for the triggered conversations. So it might be useful for conversations with the triggered engineers. Is it something I could easily switch on and off while playing?

Hopefully nobody else has already done this, but I altered the selection box textures to make them invisible.

Here you go:

Theyre still there, so you can still interact with things, you just cant see the selection box.

How can you get Aria's outfit?

I saved this info from earlier in the thread:

Aria's body is located in "BioD_OmgHub_220DenBar.pcc" as "HMF_ARM_LGTd_MDL".
Aria's body and clothes are in : BioD_OmgHub_220DenBar.pcc
just open it with umodel and press pagedown key to navigate to it .
body : HMF_ARM_LGTd_MDL
face tatoo : ASA_HED_PRO_Tat2
head :  ASA_HED_PROBASE_MDL
clothes : HMF_ARM_LGTd_MAT_1a

Aria Code:
FullBodyAppearances=(Id=2010,Type=CustomizableType_Torso,Mesh=(Male="BIOG_HMF_ARM_LGT_R.LGTd.HMF_ARM_LGTd_MDL",Female="BIOG_HMF_ARM_LGT_R.LGTd.HMF_ARM_LGTd_MDL"),PlotFlag=-1)

  Did some searching because as I think about ME modding I was wondering if it was Epic or Bioware that locked the game down because I was like others and under the impression that since Bioware tends to allow modding (and at times published a kit).  This is what I found:

"Every Unreal Engine license includes the right to redistribute UnrealEd publicly, enabling teams to release the content creation tools along with their game to the mod community. Mod support has been a major factor behind the success of many prominent PC games today, and we anticipate that support for PC-based mod development may be a significant factor in future console games as well."

   www.unrealtechnology.com/features.php

So it seems it was an EA/Bioware decision.  Makes me sad.

And back to modding can you do invisible crosshairs?

Oh and where the heck did the information on removing the help popups go?  I am so sick of seeing them.  I want them to go away already!!!!

No unfortunately there is no way to completely remove the crosshairs sorry :(

As for the help messages, I second the motion.

Does anyone know how to get rid of those DUMB AZZ messages?? I do NOT need to be told "PRESS F TO CONTINUE" every time I have to wipe my nose, not to mention it is a HUGE immersion breaker.
