Male="<Main Folder>.<Sub Folder for MDL>.Actual Model Name" MaleMaterialOverride="MaterialInstance Always"

To think I had been going around with this for days

Unless you extract the *.pcc files you cannot see the actual folder names and sub folders for the first two entries.
-umodel does you no good on the first two, but it will give you the model name and the material instance name.

Re:  Aria

I haven't tried it myself, I just copied it down for future reference.   Original source is dozens of pages of posts ago.

Anyone figured out how to use the default male Shepard hair texture and mesh for a custom male shepard?

Sorry for continuing asking but I'm home only at weekends and meanwhile about 20 pages has been posted...

As far as I know, you can't. The default male-Shepard-head is a single model/mesh/texture/whatchamajig.

You have to use the save game editor to change your sex at certain points in the game

YEHA, I finally made it! I thought a bit logically and got it works:

I used texmod.

With Texmod. At first you have to choose a bald type hair for your shepard cos this way u got a suitable hair mesh. Than just use Texmod to save the custom hair texture (there are two textures, one is black and white). now create the default male and use texmod to capture the default hair texture. Now rename the default texture file to the custom hair file and make a package with texmod. load up the package, load your savegame.

But this way u may get a little color issue if the tone of your custom hair doesnt fit to the one of the default. there is an extra texture for the custom hair (which is black and white) u have to capture, too. Just use irfanview and raise the contrast, drop the gamme so u make a darker/more black hair texture out of the black-white texture. This texture have to be in the package, too.

For blonde Miranda go to this group:

social.bioware.com/group/1547/

As for the Heavy Weapons I can't remember off the top of my head.  Check out the .ini modders group and see if they have it there...

My brain is fried today.  I'm off to kill stuff before I look at an ini again.

I've been stomping around wearing the beret, is there a way to get it when I'm on the Normandy or in casual dress?

Has anyone found a way to load up NPC armors/outfits anywhere in the game? Or is it still only possible to wear certain outfits in certain areas?

Hats only show up in casual with hair if you use a blank casual body, default/npc head, and don't mind wearing in casual mode whatever normal armor you use in combat. You can use the save editor to add the beret mesh code in place of hair, and shrink your head if you get weird overlay effects on the ship. Of courst if you don't mind baldness you can just replace your hair with the beret mesh and play normally.

Lavans6879. the mod I posted a few days ago has most armors and outfits in the game, the only ones I really haven't figured out yet is how to get certain loyalty versions to show up for armor like Miranda's black outfit but her white one works fine, even the top down one from her romance scene works. I'll be posting an updated version sometime in the next few days, hopefully with enemy bodies as armor also.

True, though what I was referring to specifically was the Asari dancer outfit. Even with background level streaming disabled, there's certain areas of the game that it won't load in.

Cool, thanks. I changed the hair for the beret, it looks fine other than some clipping with some of the helmets.

MaleMaterialOverride/FemaleMaterialOverride doesn't work for combat armors. Probably has something to do with tint taking the place of that function.
