I don't think funding will be a problem - TIM will swallow his pride and continue to pay the cost of running the Normandy.

Humanity's survival is at stake. He NEEDS Shepard (or he wouldn't have spent BILLIONS to resurrect him).

Oh yes, he'll be looking to stick a knife between his ribs as soon as he isn't useful. But he NEEDS Shepard for now.

I hope ME 3 isn't just like DAO. For starters it would just be unimaginative. Second is that DAO was 95% building an army with a battle at the beginning and end. It felt like building the army and dealing with the civil war was stressed over that pesky darkspwan problem. I wish that I could have been more involved with the war. Maybe throw in a battle or two in between.

In my "canon" version, my Shep is a spectre in name only, pissed off Cerberus. Thats okay though because I still have the Rachni, Liara, and Geth to back me up. In the end I felt like Shep was finally free from all the strings.

Maybe in ME 3 it starts with Shep making sure that the Rachni and other smaller alliances will help. Then set out to find evidence of reapers return (damn that councilor). Then the first reaper attack happens and you rush off to defend it.You then continue to the citadel were the alliance and council support you. They send you to the quarian Geth conflict. After that another planet(or planets) are attacked (maybe even Earth). The defense is crushed causing the rest of the game to be about trying to find some way of beating the Reapers (some weakness) even if it just leads you to a dead end in the end. While you are trying to find some sort of weakness Shep has to balance helping other planets under attack or evacuating before the attack and sureing up some last minute alliances ( such as possibly getting Cerberus help or even save TIM from a reaper attack). Of course there are the personal mission from the crew . Eventually it all builds up to a gripping climax where in the end Conrad Verner saves Shepard, sacrificing himself while wiping out 50 reapers with the Biotic God. .....man this story stuff is tough, glad I'm not on the writing team!

Errr... The entire point of building an army in DAO was to fight the Darkspawn.

The credit issue is the most fascinating. I hope we have to very early in ME3 do something awesome to get funding. I'm hoping we rip Cerberus off for billions!

haha

Well yea but it just felt like the dark spawn was just that pesky fly you swat at the end of the game. Don't get me wrong I loved it and realized you need to rebuild the army but once you got that army its like okay battle and its over. I just wish once you got it, you had a few battles. I guess the game hyped up a blight so that it seemed that it would take more than one battle to end it.

I guess what im trying to say is that for DAO the build your army was fine for DAO (even though I wished there was a few more battle between the main horde). I just hope  that ME 3 doesn't focus most of its game on building your flee
t and spend some time on battles against the reapers and finding more about the reapers. I have faith that Bioware will find a way to balance all that stuff out.

I assume there are 2 clear choices:
1. Cerberus
2. Council and Alliance (Spectre proper again)

3. Not so clear, there probably could be some kind of Alliance only angle, don't know how that would pan out though, but it seems like a middle way between Council (all races) and Cerberus (xenophobe human only) compromise.
Also, if you go Council Spectre I assume you steal the Normandy from TIM which will be interesting.
I like the idea of a Liara funded solo effort with all your loyals from ME1 and ME2.
In regard to Miranda in particular, I assume getting Jacob on side would be possible, but Miri really seems to be in pretty tight with TIM, so I have my doubts about her following her if you dump TIM.

Bring a loyal Miri to the final battle and choose to blow up the base. You'll see why she won't go back to Cerberus.

I also want there to be some significant choices, like 2 planets get attacked and you can only save one, and the story changes because of it.

Yes, the decisions really have to count, not pretend count, but actually change the possibility of success.

1. FEMALES! - It is time for the Art Department to make Turian, Salarian, and Krogan Females.

yer true.

2. A central base of operations that is not a ship. The citadel was sort of an operations base in the first game. Make it a lost Pre-Prothean Deep Space Base. Tie it in with Tali's recruitment mission. Haelstrom sun goes nova, leaving the space station at its center.

Agreed, just hope they don't feel obliged to elevate Tali's role. She can be a squad mate and LI as per everyone else, not more, no less please.

ah really? ok thanks.. i will and see what happens. I assume she says something. Good.
I don't suppose she'll lose some of the OTT attitude aswell? I like her assets but the OTT attitude is a neg imo, and seems like the team don't like it either. Either way, if she'll walk away from TIM when I head back to the Council (and steal his ship) then good.

Suicide Mission problem:

Save imports. Done. No more arguing over "your ME2 squad can't be in ME3 I want Liara and Ashley to have a threesome in ME3!" Get over it.

a DA:O approach seems the most logical. And you guys have to remember that the only people who really know about the reapers are shepard/his crew, cerberus, and the geth. You won't be flying around "Unifying" them, you'll be flying around showing them that reapers really do exist and that if they want to survive they need to get off their butts and get armies ready.

I'll say it again: Figuring who lived and died in ME2 is not an issue. Do people really believe you're going to have an entirely new squad (AGAIN) in ME3 or Bioware will just throw you Ashley/Kaiden and Liara and say "that's all you get, suckers!"? Well, I'm sure the people who are against garrus/tali want that, but Bioware knows what they're doing. We have the save importing abilities for a reason, and it won't be limited to ME1 choices.

Likely squadmembers for ME3: Miranda, Jacob, Garrus, Tali, Legion, Ash/Kaiden, Liara. As we've seen in ME2, 10+ squadmates are completely doable, so 7, give or take a few, is perfectly reachable. There might be a couple new faces, but Bioware will be focusing on finishing up Shepard's story, not on introducing a brand new cast of 12+ characters all with backstory that would span the whole game to cover.

It would be kinda cool if you had to go to the homeworlds of the council races to almost directly recruit them following their hesitancy of you after you dabbled with Cerberus.

Instead of pulling together a small team for the suicide mission, in ME3 you are pulling together whole races to unite against The Reapers.

Shepard is the most connected man in the entire universe. He does not need to work for anyone. He can go freelance and get help by those who want to support him. If his connections fail him, his fame will not: He could set up a fund (The Shepard Anti-Certain-Extinction-By-Reapers Fund) and suddenly have 10 % of the Galaxy's GDP.

Perhaps Liara will be an important NPC in ME3 and be your private information broker. I kept the Base and made TIM happy, so I guess it will be Cerberus again for me. I've got no problem with that.
