The main menu has a little scrolling ticker thing saying "New content available", so having already downloaded the two bits of DLC I got excited that there was something new; imagine my disappointment to find that there wasn't actually anything new. Perhaps it would be a more useful notification if, oh, I don't know, it only notified you if new there actually WAS new content, rather than stuff you already have? As it stands it's utterly useless...
"New content is available", but it's not...

I just had the game log me out mid scene saying that I switched accounts mid game...I hadnt, and then it said there was an update, then I was forced to restart the game with no way to go back in and then it put me on the dash...(PISSED) and then it to me there was an update again and then errored saying there wasnt an update, though it thought there was one, then as it got to the main menu it told me there was new content and there was none!!!!!!! WHY?! This was ALL part of one glitch which forced me to discard a 30 min battle!!!! Freakin Bioware?! What happened to testing your game?!

I've been signed out of XBL a few times while playing and it's not had any ill effects yet, but DA:O used to be a REAL swine about it. Seems to be something of an EA/Bioware special, and makes me cautious about their DLC. (Free stuff is fine -- if it becomes too irritating then I'll get rid of it, no harm no foul, apart from maybe some unusable saves. Paying for it and it causing me grief is another kettle of fish, however, as refunds for DLC are less common than unicorn poop...)

I usually get "new download content" when i first start the game and the laptop is still connecting to the Cerberus network then it disappears once it is connected.
If that helps!

It's the same for the Xbox 360 version of ME2.

This is the same glitch I had for ME1. It would say there was new dlc available but there never was.
