UPDATE!!!!!!!
PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

I do not know why but Mass Effect 2 has some issue with VGA Cable and Hybrid resolutions.

Now I have finally settle this matter and let me say:

MASS EFFECT 2 IS GORGEOUS –
THE BEST LOOKING TITLE THIS GENERATION SO FAR (for every platforms, let me say!)

Sorry for all my complaint, SORRY BIOWARE !!!!
You have made such an incredible work!

It is unbelievable how everything is changed now with the new configuration:

-) no more jaggies!
-) textures are finally great!
-)a lot of wonderful normal map!
-)incredible colours!
-)amazing effects!
-)also the texts become more readable!

Now I can fully enjoy this MASTERPIECE on my Xbox360!!!

So, people out there: if you have a VGA cable, pay attention to the correct
resolution and aspect ratio!

*************************************************************************************************************************
************************************************************************************************************************

I am an Xbox360 owner.

And a Mass Effect fanatic.

I will go straight to the point: I am really
disappointed with Mass Effect 2!!!

Mass Effect 2 has lost the visual characterization and
the unique visual appeal of its predecessor!

1) NO GRAIN FILTER (or at least the effect it is radically different from the
original one!)

2) NO ANTI ALIASING, and this one to me is the worse of
all problem

3) Reduced size of “on screen” texts (practically, it
has become unplayable “from the sofa”)

4) Mediocre texture and mediocre texture effects
everywhere!

5) Motion Blur has gone too!!!

I am really disappointed, MA2 has lost the visual
continuity with its predecessor! Why they have done this?!?

Mass Effcect 1 had a unique look and mood of sci-fi television
movie and now its appeal has gone!

And now playing with Shepard fells like playing with many many other shooters!

Consider, that I have actually quite to play the game!
I am really really disappointed, and hungry!

I really hope BIOWARE release a PATCH as soon as
possible to restore at least the same grain filter of the original and the
option to implement the ANTI ALIASING ( I really prefer to downsize the frame
rate as the original than play this everyday looking game).

What happened to you BIOWARE? Is this the EA Effect?

Mass Effect2 seems to me more a classic multiplatform game
than a truly masterpiece as its predecessor (with all its flaws)!!! Now it is sure
that it will be release also for the PS3.

Mass Effect Myth as become the new EA multiplatform franchise
to be released every year.

I am so sorry, I have really loved the broken
perfection of Mass Effect 1.

No idea about xbox but all that crap (filter, blur etc) is present in PC version.

Also, for proper AA, get a decent PC not that outdated POS that is xbox360.

Yeah, I don't know why anyone would complain about this game's graphics on the console. Especially anti-aliasing - that's purely for computers. Seriously, what 360 games are you playing where you see anything that could be considered close to high anti-aliasing by today's standards? And the text is too small? It looks the same size to me, and if reading it is a problem, I'd wonder what kind of screen you're playing this on to even care about anti-aliasing in the least. If you can see anti-aliasing or lack thereof - how the hell do you not see the text?

I dont see how anyone can hate or be overly dissapointed in this game. A few nit-pickey things I could see, but overall this is a GREAT game. Already one of my faves, and I cant wait for ME3.

Here was me thinking you were disappointed by one of the games endings like I was. But no you decided to point out a bunch of problems that can only really be solved on PC's. I just don't see how you can be disappointed by it, I'm a PC owner but the game looks "fine" on console.

Stop thinking of that Xbox as a PC it isn't and does have it's drawbacks.

Sounds like you should get the PC version.

On another thought, I think you need to rethink yourself as a gamer if the few graphical changes spoil the rest of this amazing game for you. Graphics aren't everything afterall, and there is so many things that make this game great that you shouldn't put too much thought into them anyway.

What? Sounds like you need a better TV, since I disagree on nearly every front (PC user). Also, the texturing and texture effects are phenomenal, and I'm an intermediate level designer. Trust me when I say their textures are amazing, because they are.

I only game on the xbox, don't own a gaming PC, and I think the graphics of ME2 are brilliant. Perhaps my standards just aren't very high, but if I was going to talk about graphics at all it would only be to put them in the 'pros' column.

Looks good on the PC version Much better then ME1 thats for sure. But the forum can't be complete without someone complaining about every aspect of the game.. Your complaint just added the graphics. Which about makes the whole complaints threads whole.

Only thing we need now is for someone to complain about how boring the Space Genie pig is and we will be all set.

Hey, people are allowed to complain. Is there nothing in your life you've ever been dissatisfied with? If not, then wow, I wish I were you.

Yes they can complain.. But try to complain about something that makes sense, like how scanning sucks, or how you hate the Ammo system, or the combat system.

But complaining about graphics is pretty silly, since it still looks 100 times better then ME1. Its not our fault he is using a Console to play the game.

I complain because, I speck about features that were PRESENT on 2007 version of Mass Effect 1!!!

The GRAIN FILTER and the ANTI-ALIASING gives the first one on the xbox360 a very peculiar look and mood!

And also the texture and the texture effect were far superior !

I have to admit that I have quit playing the game soon after the begin of the first world (the one with snow) and I have started to load back Mass Effect 1 in order to have a real time graphics comparison. Let me say (a part from the frame rate and the new controls) the first one win visually in every department! Look at Eden Prime texture, motion blur.. It is so unique.

Now Mass Effect 2 looks so obvious and common…

But the real question is: Why remove it?!? Answer: because it has become a multiplatform title.

Just consider the ridiculous text size issue (also present in DA)!

I do believe that the EA Effect has become…

If you look at the tech area of this forum you will see how faulty the launch of this game has turned out to be.

I REALLY HOPE BIOWARE WILL SOLVE ALL THE ISSUES WITH A PATCH!!!

the grain filter is there... check your graphics options.

i own it for the xbox and i have to say it is quite stunning to look at on my HD tv. my wife wanted to hear what someone said again and asked that i "rewind" it... for a moment she thought we were watching a show on the DVR.

sorry to hear you dont like it man, but i have to disagree. i think the game is amazing, and though different from the first, still the stronger game. im a fan of both rpg's and shooters though, so i could care less about it being more of a shooter this time around. the shooter/combat aspect in the first one always seemed a bit sloppy, its soooo awsome in ME2.

It is only that this time around the filter is quite
different. Try to stop it and you will notice that  the difference is quite minimal.

To this add also the LACK of anti-aliasing (in a 2010 GAME!), the LACK
of motion blur, some really mediocre texture a la “Dragon Age” (absent
from  the first one) and the lack of effect
on the texture (this area was great on the first one from the very beginning).

I know that ultimately I will end up loving this game,
but after all the previews, all the perfect scores it gets, I really believe that they
would have built the new game from the very positive notes of the first one. And the look and the mood of the visual was a must for me! Now instead I find myself playing ANOTHER Unreal 3
shooter...

I have to say that I am disappointed also to feel myself
disappointed by this game that I have wait for so long!

I do not know if you could understand, but I deeply love the first one.

Anyway let’s hope at least that Bioware could release a patch for the size of
the texts.

im sorry but this is funny to me.

so many people have so many gripes with the game. the list is long.

I never would have imagined the top of someones list being "film grain" and "motion blur"

i dont mean to offend its just funny with all the ranting to see this off the wall complaint.

Maybe it is funny, and after all it is only a videogame, obviously,

But I just consider ME1 just like a cinematic experience, a movie. It has established a visual dictionary, and a visual mood.

Now, to me, it is crazy to see that the sequel moves away from this “legacy” and , in general lowered down the overall look of the game!

Sure, sure the frame rate issues are solved, the controls now are more fluid and in line with other shooters, but the visual impact of the game, the visual quality of it, has lowered down deeply. At least the Xbox360 version (as I have learned that PC version never had anti aliasing and the grain filter).

Again come back to Eden Prime, and you immediately see the difference of the textures, the quality of the effects, also the Batarian DLC has much more refined light effects and textures!

You cannot deny this!
