Miranda, without contest. She had a better character, one that went better with mine (shoot first ask questions later) and was nicer to look at, plus she was a much more useful squadmate and I don't think there was a single mission I didn't use her. I hope that Bioware doesn't mess up and sideline the LIs from this game in the Finale. If they do, I know at least I will be very displeased.

It's a good thing they didn't screw up the facial scan then. I could just as easily ask you why you think she's ugly, but we wouldn't get anywhere with that kind of discussion.

My LI form ME1 was Liara. However I have gone the Miranda route. White uniform plus Miranda backside won me over. Used the black uniform once, didn't work for me.

I would rather neither nor anyone else in the game. BioWare less "Love Boat" in the next game please. I am almost expecting M3 to open with this



Ashley and Miranda are essentially the same character but I do think that Miranda is written much better than Ashley was. In the first game I disliked the Ashley character from the get-go as I found her to be grating and quite annoying. I don't have the same reaction to the Miranda character in this game.

I will agree the facial scan wasn't perfect (though hardly "ugly"), but the scan of the other end sure was.

I like them both but Miranda stole my heart. I mean for one my Shepard has so much more in common with her than with Ashley and two they were each willing to go the distance to get the job done no matter what.

Besides the whole "So don't die, you promise me damnit!" scene really showed that she was as human as the next person.

And of course, after seeing all the Cerberus uglies in ME2 she resigned and decided to follow Shepard no matter what. Ashley, though she sent an endearing letter afterwards, wouldn't leave the alliance to help do what it takes. Shepard is a marine, but he's also something so much more than that and that's a place Ashley just can't follow.

So Miranda, by far.

*Edit: By similarities I mean we each had our share of family problems, I lost mine on Mindoir and she never really had one to begin with.

I do believe that Miranda was a composite of the orginal "Swedish" design and a facial scan of Strahovski. I don't think that is a 100% replication like it was with Vanderloo.

But seriously Miranda did nothing for me. Yes she was very well made and I had her in my squad most of the game. And yes she did end up being very sympathetic in the end but she was just not a very strong person. She was riddled with self doubt and insecurity. Trying desperately to get out of her fathers shadow and to please TIM.



Ashely on the other had was a down to earth strong woman who could be my Shepards equal. She didn't need my help as some knight in shining armor. Yes I'm not that into poetry but I Ioved all the light banter and corny one liners the wining her over entailed.

Miranda is more useful in a fight, and she's easier on the eyes. Ash has a funny face. And I'm really getting tired of the alliance ****, lol its so funny how the story makes u sway one way or another. I'm gonna do me, and **** "for the alliance" or "for ceberus". Damn bioware...m

Miranda seems like a total......well not very nice at first lucky she improves alot she has alot of diffrent sides to her but she is very polite once you get the normandy before then she has a bit of an attidue but nothing that bad

Even after Ashley already saw the Council and the Alliance brush "us" off when it came to Saren....even after everything we went through together as crewmates and the relationship.

I can see her not trusting Cerberus. The deal breaker is that, after all that, she can't trust SHEPARD.

You know, there's a difference between hate and not liking them. Ashley don't really like aliens and I can respect that. I'd probably be a little creeped out by a selarian my self.

First play through, I went with Ash and then Miranda in ME2. Though the more I've thought about it, and reading a lot of stuff here, I've started a 2nd play through with the intent of not taking anyone and staying "loyal" to Ash.



Of course, Miranda IS hard to resist for my Shep. Shes just what he likes in a woman, then of course so is Ash. I may change my mind again during the 2nd time around and take Miranda again but I want ONE play through with no new LIs for ME3

Yeah, and if you choose the right dialogue options when you meet her in ME2, she even says something about "I may not always get along with aliens, but I don't HATE them like Cerberus does"... implying that she sees Cerberus as too extremist and anti-alien even for her.

i like insecurity in a girl that means she is likley to settle for less.......ie me jokes aside thats kinda true at first she seems way too strong but i like her when she is a bit softer,i didnt find Ashely very mature or tolerant which is a great thing about Miranda(though she is very immature with the jack fight but apart from that she welcomes everyone on the ship,she plays a leader role kinda and she is a pretty good leader imo compared to ashley i think she is

This is called "Poor writing" If there's supposed to be a difference between Ashley's stated views  and those of Terra Firma they should have written one.

Listen to what Terra Firma tells Shepard.

Compare and contrast that to what she has already said about aliens and humanity's position.

While you may never see Ashley at one of those Terra Firma teabagger rallies, she believes exactly as they do.
