Hi people,

I bought the english version of the game (pretty sure of it, ordered from amazon.uk and the box is all in english!!Image IPB), but I am currently in Spain, with a computer running Vista in spanish.

So I installed the game and I find all the text in game is in Spanish, including the subtitles!
How can I change all text to english?

For the life of me, I cant find an option in game to change the language settings, can anyone help please?

Or is it done at installation time? I didnt see any option but I might have skipped some "advanced" settings at installation.

Please help!

I had the same problem with the German version. Uninstall the game and run the Setup.exe instead of the autorun.exe from DVD1. A language selector should then pop up.

Hope that helps

sounds like the default languages is the windows language (or xbox, i don't know about xbox).

Bought french version, and i use english windows, default language was english.

Anyway, i get a language selector, upper left of the first launcher screen (the one with music, etc, before you install).

Clic on the canadian flag for english.

I have the East European version and it doesn't have english files. I can't choose english at the launcher. Is there a way to change its language to english because the hungarian version is ****.

I have the hungarian too. On the Disk2 there is the english.rar, I just wonder if I can just overwrite the installad files with it.

I've tried this, converting the Czech version to English, but no luck so far. All I get is numbers instead of text.

There's only Eastern European languages in the install menu, no option for an English install, which is pretty dumb. Especially since the english.rar is on Disc 2

If you only want it for the patches or DLC, then check out section 2.5.2 of the Tech FAQ.

Browse to your Mass Effect 2 installation directory and look in the ‘data’ folder.
Open sku.ini file with a text editor such as Notepad. Make a backup of this file before you alter it – this way you can revert to original if anything goes wrong.
Edit the [SKU] section of the file so that it looks like the text below:
[SKU]
SKU=
VOLanguage=INT
TextLanguage=INT
Save and close the configuration editor.

In Polish version changing sku.ini is not enough, especially if you want to change audio to english, but leave localized subtitles and menus.
If that is the case, it's necessary to delete or rename all files which names include _LOC_POL
When lacking localized files, the game will look for audio references into _LOC_INT files.
INT is for English (from INTernational)

Anyway, I just finished a little program, that does all the job with the files, so user only have to choose between localized and english audio and subtitles.

Z braku polskich plików, gra będzie szukać referencji do ścieżek audio w plikach _LOC_INT.
INT oznacza angielski (od INTernational)

Tak czy owak właśnie skończyłem pracę nad małym programikiem, który wykonuje całą robotę. Użytkownik musi tylko wybrać między polskim i angielskim dla napisów i audio.
