Hey everyone,

I've got a few things I want  to discuss regarding the graphics/music of Mass Effect 2. Before I do, however, I want to point out that my computer specifications exceed the amount required to run this game, so I don't believe this is a problem with the actual hardware, and more of a problem with the game itself.

I just want to see if anyone else has noticed this. :)

Lighting:

I think the lighting in this game is brilliant, no doubt about it. But every time I see a close-up of a characters face or body, it looks as though they've got some sort of aura around them. I thought this may have been something to do with the "Bloom" being set to high-quality, but changing that option didn't help at all.

Clipping:

Alot of scenes involve a character folding their arms, or moving around. Why is it that half the time I see the hand of one arm go through the other? Surely this is something Bioware quality testers should have picked up? It's not exactly "game-breaking", but I fail to understand how this issue could have been missed, especially as a good portion of the game involves character interactions. I'm fed up of seeing my Shepard lose one of his hands. xD

~~DON'T WORRY, NO SPOILERS~~

I don't know whether this counts as clipping, but at the end of Garrus's loyalty mission, I had the back of Shepard's head as the background.

Sort of like this, but the triangles made up Shepard's head from a previous cutscene;

Cinematics:

Seriously, as far as I can recall this is the only game I've seen where the cinematic graphical quality is worse than the graphics during gameplay. Heck, even old PSOne games like Syphon Filter had cinematics better than the game itself. Why do the cinematics play in lower resolution/graphical detail than the actual game? The introductory scene to the game fell below my expectations because of this.

Music:

Minor issue, but why is the music so quiet? Even with other settings turned down, it seems to be really low in volume. I know the obvious solution to this is "Turn your speakers up!", but compared to Mass Effect 1, ME2 seems to be lacking with the impact music can make during some scenes.

Finally, I'd like to finish by saying that I love this game. I think it's beautifully designed, fun, interesting, etc etc, so please don't reply saying I'm just another disappointed fan, because I'm not! :D
