I don't know why Mordin dies for some. I kept him with the group holding the door and he made it.

He survived for me, too. I'm wondering if the people that had him die had upgraded his prototype tech power or not.

No one died for me, rescued all hostages with no casualties. Legion handled the ducts, Miranda led the other teams, I had Jack do the biotic shield. I sent Garrus back with the crew as an escort, took Thane and Samara with me to finish off the boss at the end.

This thread is actually pretty interesting, it wasn't immediately apparent how differently things could turn out based on other aspects all the way through the game.

Its very simple.

Upgrade the guns, the shields, and the armor of the ship (garrus upgrade, tali upgrade, jacob upgrade)

Take out that thing that goes through the ships hull as quickly as possbile.

Garrus, Jacob, and Miranda are the leaders
Tali, Mordin and Legion are best suited for the shaft
Samara, Mornith and Jack are used for the biotic field

Have a full team with high loyalty for them to survive the last part while you go after the final boss. You can tell if they're loyal if they had a yellow rings under the feet (it goes quickly and never appears again) the next time your at the squad selection screen.

If you don't do these things, people will die in unsuspecting ways (like if you don't have a good leader the person in the shaft will die)

Zero deaths on my play hehe. I had Legion as techy, Miranda then Jacob as squad leaders, Samara for biotic shielder, Tali protected the surviving crew back to the Normandy, and me, Miranda, and Grunt finished the end. I did lose Kelly and some crew for not going directly to the end and prepared instead. Next time I should go instant so I can save the majority of the Normandy crew.

But having my team survive was nice though :) Worried a second when Jacob looked like he may have been shot though.

Oh I did not have any one hold the door and just had the team go on ahead and had no one killed.

The only characters that I do not have loyal to me are Miranda and Zaeed, and I beat the game last night. Jacob/Garrus as Fire Team Leaders, Grunt for Crew Escort, Jack for Barrier, and Tali/Jack for the final boss fight. Nobody died...

I'm curious to see if there is a way that I can replay the suicide mission where I can lose Zaeed and Miranda (I hate their guts...), does anyone know a way I can get those two killed without losing anyone else? Should I select Zaeed as a team leader and Miranda for barrier? Or will that also kill other people?

Im starting to wonder why bioware even wasted time with multiple outcomes considering everybody seems to want that perfect flawless ending....... they might as well just make a static game from now on.

That doesn't make me like her any more... Plus if I get her loyal, I won't have Jack loyal... so there's a conflict of interest there.

Lol, I don't. I was kind of hoping for at least 3 deaths. Miranda and Zaeed can die, I'd be happy. Also, Thane could die, and it would feel alright. He is going to be dead soon anyway.

I saved everyone on my first try. Here's my choices.

1. Legion goes through the tunnels. I figured he is a piece of tech himself, he is ideal.

2. Garrus lead the other team. Because he lead a squad himself, he is a great leader.

3. Chose Jack as the biotic shield. She's the best.

4. Miranda lead the other team.

5. Jacob lead the survivors back to the Normandy.

6. Took Legion and Samara with me to beat the human reaper.

No one died.

1. Legion or Tali as tech specialist

2. Garrus, Jacob, or Miranda as 1st Fireteam leader

3. Jack or Samara as biotic specialist

4. Garrus, Jacob, or Miranda as 2nd Fireteam leader

5. Mordin or Grunt as crew escort

Did she actually do this? She was loyal on my playthrough and said afterwards that I made the right choice in destroying the station. But she never mentioned one way or the other about her loyalty to Cerberus. Either pro or con. Jacob's dialogue did indicate he was sticking with me, but didn't get anything on Miranda.

Use Legion for Vents, Garrus as the leader for the 1st time the squad splits up... then use Garrus again as the leader when squad splits up, and use Samara as biotic shield. Use Modrin as escort and take Thane and Grunt with you for final battle.... everyone will live.

You mean that people want characters with whom they spend a great deal of time getting emotionally attatched to survive and possibly show up in the next game?

Team leader - Garrus
Tech - Legion

Second Team Leader - Garrus
Biotic - Samara
Escort Crew - Jacob

My team at the end:
Samara and Miranda

No one died, the crew survived. Full Paragon

Adept lvl 25 Femshep (LI Garrus) Full Loyalty on everyone (except Zaaed) and Upgrades. Only upgrades I was missing was one tech weap upgrade from Illium, 1 Shep health upgrade from Illium and 1 Heavy Weapon Ammo upgrade from Illium. I ran out of credits (sad panda face) but had 400K of each resource but Element Zero (had 100K). Every galaxy explored at 100%, every side quest completed that I could find. All anomalies completed. 35 hours total of playtime.

If you bring her in the final fight when TIM tells Shepard not to blow the place up he tells Miranda to stop him and she says around the lines that I resign from Cerberus and im not taking any more of your orders Posted Image

Team Leader Both Times - Miranda

Tech - Legion

Biotic - Samara

Escort Crew - Mordin

Had to keep my homeboys, Garrus and Jacob, with me the entire run so they joined me. Saved the nromany crew. No one died, and I blew up the reaper base. 25 hours of playtime at the end.

Garrus is an Infiltrator basically, so he's not really the best choice for hacking. It should be Tali or Legion, and seriously, Legion saved your life on the derelict Reaper. How much more do you need from him to find him trustworthy? :P

I got a perfect ending but I was kinda hoping for a situation were I had to choose without knowing the exact outcome. I think there should be multiple outcomes the perfect one should just be much harder to achieve.

Well, they want you to strive for the perfect ending, but not everyone will get it all the time. They always said in the interviews that it will all be up to you and how good of a leader you are, and that includes recognizing who is best suited for each assignment (Vents, Fire team Leaders, Shield, Escort) It all depends on how well you know the crew, and not just on loyalty alone... also if you dont upgrade your ship, people will die in the debris field.

Its actually quite amazing how many outcomes there are, and how it actually affects you as the end-user... honestly you really end up caring for everyone.

Well, I want ONE perfect ending - for my mainShep.  I have 4 Shepards that I use.  For the others I'd like to have some casualties.

For one character, I am trying to see how many people I can have die and still survive it.   In her case, I am making the ultimate "Tragic Shepard" - Sole Survivor, Colonist, Kaiden and Wrex dead, and maximum number of squad deaths in ME2.    The varren who follows her around on Tuchanka will die in the ring.  Oh and without kelly her pet fish will die.   Such tragedy!

I believe the reason Mordin often dies as tech specialist is because he is NOT that sort of scientist. He's an experimental biologist and medical doctor, not a mechanic.

I had Jacob as my first team leader and Miranda as my second, and Miranda was the only one who died.

Legion was my techie, and Miranda wasn't completely loyal.

I made it through on my first try and no one died on me. Had most of the upgrades and everyone loyal. Tali and Miranda are both my LI so I keep them with me while other performed jobs. At the end of the day I knew I could keep them alive as long as they were with me.

Legion took the vents because I wasn't sending my baby into that hot dangerous place.

Jacob lead both fire teams. The man is a born leader and I knew he would hold things down when the shooting started.

Samara is the most powerful biotic on the team so I let her take care of that. Jack is also up there so my next play through I will see how she holds up but since I had Miranda with me I didnt want no mess popping off.

Thane took the crew members back to the ship. He is an open character that knows all about sneaking so I trusted him to get everyone back alive.

My team held down the door while Tali and Miranda helped me take it to the last boss. I wanted them where ever I was because like I said if they are with me I will keep them alive. Plus I knew Grunt was going to kill everything that stepped into the room. He is funny that way.

In the end everyone made it and now I am back on the ship looking for stuff I didnt find and calling my honey up for couch and bed time fun.

To all the people who seem to lose Mordin holding the door.

One theory I've heard is that you need 2 biotics in the group that holds the door for the group itself to survive. However, you need 3 biotics in the group to ensure Mordin and Tali survive (the assumption is it chooses at random, however a lot of people like Tali and bring her along).

It's something to test and validate at least, instead of blaming invisible dice rolls. Will see if it works like that later.
