I truly expected something to have been done with what was a major dangling thread concerning Feargus, the brother from the Human Noble origin. it sould have taken a considerable amount of dialogue scripting, far more than the token amount found in RtO as it stands.
Also, where was Duncan's corpse? He was leader of the Grey Wardens, the hated enemies of the darkspawn. They had to move him to get to the king, you would think that would have put his head on a spear or something UNLESS Duncan didn't die, and the flash of light he experienced was a magical rescue.
RtO: No Feargus? No Duncan's corpse?

If you play the Noble origin to the end, the Fergus snafu is cleared up. Rather hastily, but there it is.
As for the lack of a body - there are many threads about concerning it.
Some of the more popular theories is his body was dragged underground along with other bodies for consumption, that the charred corpse near the fire may be him, or that bioware left it intentionally vague in hopes of future storyline possibilities.
