It may, however, not be bad to put on a squad member to strip shields if you are fighting many shielded enemies.

Yeah it really does kind of suck though.. you can plant all 3 shots onto an enemy's head and have them not die. It also doesn't seem to be affected by the weapon upgrades, so the +50% head shot damage upgrade you get doesn't apply to this weapon, making it utterly useless.
Yeah, but if it did stack that would make people even angrier if they couldn't get their hands on it. As it is, it appears that both the Collectors rifle and the Inscisor Sniper Rifle just stay at one level. I don't know about the the gamestop one though.

Well, the ammo upgrades apply to it. The gun isn't as useful as the rocket launcher or beam, though.Thargorichiban wrote...

And Mass Effect 2 is still NOWHERE near the trainwreck of promotionals that Dragon Age was.durasteel wrote...
The issue isn't really the "free" aspect. If it was available for download for a nominal fee, that would be one thing, but the idea that you can buy the "ultimate" version of a game and still not have access to all the stuff is pretty sour. I am aware that this is not uncommon in the industry, I'm simply saying that it sucks.
I am especially irritated because the CE freebies are so much less appealing than I thought they would be. The GameStop armor and CE armor put an opaque helmet on Shepard at all times, and the collector's armor and assault rifle are both hideous.
You can see the rifle at this link.
But I completely agree with you.

Some stupid piece of DLC is not an excuse to pirate. IT just something Pirates use to justify what they have done.

not half of the planet, more of 10% of the people who play ME2
I didn't find out until January 26th when I was editing the links myself so I found them on my own, but because some idiots posted them on their websites then it got patched before I had the chance to get them
but by trading with people here and with EA's support I now have all DLC except Blood Dragon Armor
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
and PC users can get it for free anyways, thats why I never got the point of PC DLC because you could just download it on some website and get it for free

I don't see how it isn't a win-win for BW. Those that pre-ordered from the selected retailers get certain items for free, and the rest are available to purchase.
I simply don't understand it from a business sense. This kind of marketing only serves to leave a bad taste in the consumers mouth knowing that only a select few lucky people (or those willing to pay the extortionist prices on ebay) can have all the items designed to work with the game.
It's embarrasing for those of us who purchased the Collector's edition to have to come on these boards and say: "Anyone got a spare Terminus/Inferno code they'd give me?"
But I digress, things have been moving this way for a while and unless one company puts a stop to it, it will continue.
...I don't ever remember Bethesda saying "Certain customers can get the Horse Armor for Oblivion, others will get the Magic Tomes, but neither will get all."...
