I think they are setting it up for 3.  I could be wrong, just guessing, but not only is 3 going to be "massive" as far as the climax to the story, but you could see all heck break lose on the romantic front.....with all of this infidelity, and cross pollination.....WOW!

Shiala was very attractive in the first ME, but no so much in ME2. It wasn't just the greenness either. I think it's going to be revealed in ME3 that she was green because the Thorian isn't dead after all.

Considering the nature of the TIM, it's not out of the realm of possibility that he would pull something like that, is it?  Also, who is most likely to use his extensive wealth to create the perfect human female?  Who has the motives? Who has the resources to make it happen?  Cerberus.

I guess. Miranda being TIM's daughter pretty much jumped out at me when she talked about her being a test tube baby. When you ask the questions that I asked, it makes sense that TIM could have been behind her "creation".

If TIM had created her, he would have just put her in a uniform. Fabricating a fake father for her to run away from would be a complete waste of resources and an outright Xanatos Roulette. Also, if TIM had created Miranda, he would have also had to create Oriana, and yet Miranda stole Oriana from her father and not a Cerberus cloning facility. You're grasping at straws, here. Illusive Man is a schemer, true, and a master of the Xanatos Gambit, but he cannot see into the damn future.

Well....Oriana was 9 when Miranda took her, she wasn't an infant, unless you're implying they didn't start out as infants.

Like I said, I don't have any evidence, just speculation.  However, you cannot rule out TIM.  Like you said, he's a schemer.  Hell, I'd call him the ultimate schemer.  His entire reasoning for bringing Shepard back appears to be to get his hands on the Collector ship. And just look at all of the stunts he pulled to make sure it happened.  

Now, why he would create Miranda and then ship her off to be adopted, only to recruit her is anyone's guess. The answer probably lies in the mind of TIM.  If you've read Ascension, you've seen TIM can and will go to lengths to make sure humans that maybe be potentially beneficial to Cerberus become so.  If that means staging a family, he'll do it.
