With how much information and multi-tasking he supposedly does, cybernetic implants make more sense than say being a prothean.

Says so in the novel he used to be a normal man who watched on the streets when the Prothean ruins were discovered. I think he's eyes have just been modified along with the rest of him.

Or he's part geth/prothean/some unknown alien race. <_<

One of my hopes and dreams is that he's Prothean

Protheans = Collectors.

He doesn't look like a Collector to me :P

I think he's just an AI.

I don't remember anything in game saying that every single Prothean that ever existed was either killed or turned into a Collector.

He looks nothing like a prothean. He's not prothean.

Probably just cybernetic modification or something.

His eyes are implants that allow him to create the Illusion that he is a man and not a different kind of being...

I think the symbol on the eyes is the key and the hint BioWare's given us.

Well, Protheans were giants compared to us and they also had octopus heads, so I'm going with they're just implants. They look like computer implants on my big TV, alot like EDI's mouth, except the motion is circular around the pupil.

Oh that's good. Here I was thinking he was just being elusive...

Maybe he's not prothean (it's just a speculation, way out there, but still it'd be a hell of a plot twist if he was. XD ), just the way he gets all pissed about you destroying the Collector base (or the way he stares at it very intently in the hologram if you keep it) screams to me that he's not 100% human (or at least not 100% for ALL of humanity) and he's just leading everyone on and plays nice to get Shepard's help in order to get the tech/put the Collectors at bay so he can build his own "doomsday device' and claim the galaxy for his own. O_O

Pretty sure they're just implants. I would guess that the three blue dots around the pupil are a reference to Cerberus (the mythylogical 3-headed dog, guardian of the underworld).

I'll bet you they're implants (probably just miniaturized computer screens so he's really looking at porn or something in his spare time).

They're X-ray eyes.

It gets lonely on that station.

This is most likely. He is a leader and he likes power. So if he can exclusively gain access to a crazy amount of prothean/reaper technology, he will be way ahead of every single other person in the galaxy. As such, he could likely be "king" of the galaxy or take it by force.

He would get crazy upset if his dream of power was shattered by destroying the base and he would smile at his success.

As for his eyes, I still don't know. They aren't simple implants because not a single other character has them anywhere. So, either they are crazy high tech implants, or there is more to them then that.

i'd have to say his Eyes are either Gene-tailored eyes(not every likely)
or most likely prosthetic eyes

and to add. KB i dont think that TIM would be that type of person, sure he's the head of Cerberus but most of what is said about them word of mouth. yeah he is probably a ruthless figure but i dont think he wants total galactic domination. he and cerberus just want to make sure Humanity has a good foothold in the Greater galactic community.

If you go uber-Renegade your eyes will look exactly like that but red instead of blue.

TIM is a Reaper pawn jsut like Saren was, I'm fairly certain that thier eyes are the same.

The reason TIM wanted you to save the Collector base was so that they could be prominent human Scientist in there for indoctrination. The Human Reaper thing was actually just a trick to get you to believe that it all wasn't just a trap, and to earn your trust. With Shepard on their side the Reapers can't lose. And even if Shepard failed he would be dead, and there would be a shiny new Human Reaper.

Oh really...I'm currently working on my renegade character. Playing an adept on Insanity. Not the easiest class, and it is quite difficult, I try to be evil whenever I can but sometimes...I just got a do a few little paragon things here and htere.

As if they dont already. They only have been around for like what, 50 years on the galactic scale? They already have a Ambassador/Councilor on the council. They already have a population that exceeds any other (atleast from what we've seen). They were the only ones to stop Saren...

Did you guys notice that the sun he looks at is always red.  But at the end of the Game the last time we see him his sun is now blue?

Only if you destroy the station, keep it and it's red.  It's like the planet at the end of ME1 being blue or red (paragon or renegade)

Also, it's not red throughout the game, it's marbleised with both blue and red. It switches to fully blue if you destroy the base, and fully red if you hand it to Cerberus.

He has definately had some majour enhancements. Genetic or implants and most likely both. In the first game Cerberus were doing experiments that you never found out exactly what they were up to -- or at least I didn't come across that information.

TIM is a megalomaniac. He says he wants to strengthen humanity's place in the greater galactic community but I don't buy that for a second. TIM wants TIM to have a strong place in the greater galactic community if not someone who has absolute control and power.

Yeah, you'll be all scarred up too - don't get the medbay upgrade, because then that will fix your face and eyes. There are some YouTube videos of it, but seeing it up on a 42 inch TV really is much more satisfying.

Yes, the Illusive Man is Prothean with a pro-human agenda. Maybe it's because humans are ancient descendants of the last 12 remaining Protheans!
Gentlemen, get out your tin foil hats.

I disagree. I think he truly does think of himself as looking out for humanity's interests. He wants to put humanity on top of the other races.

Unfortunately, he's almost entirely without ethics, and also likely thinks of himself and his organisation as the best people to govern humanity. So, while his intentions are somewhat good, he's a dictator waiting to happen.
