There are a handful of demo- or short playable modules being developed that could be ready very soon.

However, keep in mind that the people in the beta program who have the toolset do not have the game client, so they don't have a way of testing their creations. This might delay module release by a few days.

I'm talking to a few people about making a substantial module called Crown of Creation, set in the Enigma Island gameworld. On past experience, I wouldn't expect to publish until the second half of 2010, but Dragon Age gives us more options to deliver quickly and gradually, which we've yet to discuss.

I'm working on converting some adventures from my D&D 4e campaign into a DA module, mainly as a learning exercise. I won't be publishing it because it will have content that is recognizably D&D and that would make for copyright doubts but I might blog progress if it looks like being an interesting experience.

At the moment, I'm reworking the story lines to reduce everything from "party of 5 with 4 basic roles", which 4e is optimized for, to "party of 4 with 3 basic roles" which is the DA:O concept. It means condensing some quests, merging others and backgrounding some more whilst trying to maintain overall balance and not letting the gestalt fall apart. I think it's possible but if it turns out not to be, I will certainly post something about it.

while i have a really big project in mind (well who doesn't? ) i think the first one will be a simple dungeon runner in one area. just to get used to the toolset and learn it's tweaks

Anyone ever play BETRAYAL AT ANTARA? I thought of redoing the game using the toolset... but I probably wont. While I love creative writing/storytelling and have many ideas for a module, I'm so swamped by other, sadly more important things. I barely have the time to PLAY the game, let alone put in the devotion necessary to make a truly stand-out module.

Then again, my contract with Disney ends at the end of November... Might take a bit of time off and see what happens Posted Image

What kind of mod? Well, a story-driven mod.

Unfortunately it won't be available on release date :crying:

My plan is to create something short and manageable at first, especially while I'm learning the new toolset.

I've got the same plan. I guess it will be rogue or bard specific and happen in a castle.

I am making one after the release of the toolset. Maybe 10 people will actually be interested enough to play it :(

But I am going to have a blast making it :)

I am halfway through planning a shortstory that could possibly be made to work for DA. Will be fun to attempt, if nothing else.

I am sure your adoring fans will all try it. And there are more than 10 of them. :P

The obligatory full-sized project. At its basic, a mod still set in the Dragon Age world to add a new storyline, possibly concurrent with the main story if that's feasible. Not sure exactly how world exploration and questing works, but this will not come out anywhere near release. I need to immerse myself in the world, lore and game mechanics first by playing extensively. I'm working on the story, characters and design already, though. Preproduction.

Otherwise, I might do something smaller, like a new area, or offer whatever services I can on another project in need to get experience and keep active in the modding community.

My First mod is gonna be short, Maybe an hour or so, it will be very storycentric. It will be about a very damged man you have to save from the brink of insanity

Some of you might like to consider joining the Dragon Age Modders group. *points at sig*

Anyway, it's good to know that so many people plan on modding already. I'm looking forward to it. ^^

Making a side arc of main DAO quest-line. Basic hack-and-slash, but with 'options' for different origins. Just something 4 variety... Update later.

We are thinking of doing something that would accent the DA:O storyline, things like side quests. Extra orders and so forth.

Btw if you are modding the game join the Dragon Age Modders group [DA:M :D]! We are working on connecting the modders more closely together for resource sharing. Link is in my signature.

I'm prone to drawing out large, overblown campaigns with a flourish of the pen, and then finding that I have way too much in size and scope to tackle for a first module. I'll try this time to stick with a short story-adventure unrelated to DA:O, but the problem is I have no ideas yet.
