I have some troubles with the 1.1 toolset, since it's supsoed to fix bugs, i realy want to try to make it work before installing 1.0 back

I followed the wiki but i'm stuck at restoring the database, it juste don't work : there is the error message

TITLE: Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express------------------------------
Restore failed for Server 'PONEY\\\\BWDATOOLSET'.  (Microsoft.SqlServer.Express.Smo)
For help, click: http://go.microsoft....er&LinkId=20476
------------------------------ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlError: The backup set holds a backup of a database other than the existing 'bw_dragonage_content' database. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Express.Smo)
For help, click: http://go.microsoft....00&LinkId=20476
------------------------------BUTTONS:
OK------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What i've done :
Re installing the toolset
Re installing the SQL server and the toolset
Re installing the whole game and then install the toolset

I don't understand why it don't work :/

Not entirely sure what your current status is

Did you upgrade from 1.00 to 1.01 and follow the steps on this page to migrate the database over?

http://social.biowar...abase_migration

Or did you never install 1.00 and just installed 1.01 from scratch?

When you uninstalled SQL, did it remove the database, too? Sounds like something might have been left over when you installed 1.1 and it got corrupted somehow.

Not sure if you're having the same issue I had, but you may want to checkout this thread I created a few months ago. When I uninstalled everything, there were still parts of it on my computer which screwed things up for me.

Mhh, if i corectly understand i'll need to delete the BWDAToolset service with the command and re unistall/reinstall everything ?

Is there any services i have to check to be corectly deleted before unistalling anything ?

Yeah, I un-insalled everything, then deleted the service with the command line, then installed everything again.

Hope this helps.

After days of hairs tearing, i finaly got the toolset working.

Here : http://blogs.msdn.co.../08/501885.aspx

This was realy useful and fixed everything. I blame Microsoft failling at making correct unistallers. And registry cleaners not able to fix Microsoft's fail

Thanks Challseus, i think we need to stick your thread, it may be useful to someone one day
