I'd prefer they invested resources in DLC all people might enjoy.

Just because you may think that, it does not mean you are part of any majority.

Adding my voice in support of romance DLC. Especially for the ME1 romances in ME2 because us Liara, Ash, and Kaidan fans got so incredibly shafted.

I like the idea of a romance / companion pack simply because it adds more depth in an area sorely lacking [for those that excersized the option]. A few missions for the LI / companion , a few missions for Shepard, etc. would be a good thing.

I like it, only issue I have, the impact of DLC on ME3 is going to be so bad, generaly most people don't take the DLC (for all sort of reasons as mainly no Internet on XBOX). As such I fear that you will feel like starting all over again with your LI in ME3. Bioware can't develop ME3 based on the people who will actualy buy DLC (fe: Bringing down the sky - that's also the reason why it usually sucks)

Do you see what you've done?

This is absolutely amazing. When I first posted on the forums, I heard many times about how Bioware looks at the forums for feedback on their games, but to actually have been part of the movement that's caused them to consider the possibility of a Romance Pack is just absolutely amazing, and a huge honor. I hope, if they're serious about it, that each post is looked at, because there's something valid in each post, even if its just a bump in support.

And for those who don't like the concept: just don't download it. Its that simple. Everyone has a right to refuse downloadable content, but that doesn't mean you have to shoot down the idea for those who want it.

Again.

Strongly opposed.
Mass effect is an action/rpg. Not a date sim. Not even Mass Sims.

So no, say no to the romance pack.
If BioWare commits resources to making a pack, it shall be about the story or characters or something, but not a stupid date pack.

Eek.
Don't screw up the genre even more.

Mass Effect 2 DLC so far:
- new character/mission DLC
- tank with new missions DLC
- another new character/mission DLC, with a new weapon
- continually releasing heavy weapon/armor DLC
- consider releasing one romance pack
BAWWWW WHY DID YOU TURN MY GEARS OF WAR INTO A DATING SIM

Jesus Christ, I bet nobody flinging the 'dating sim' insult around has ever actually played a dating sim. You want more stuff about characters? Guess what, the romances ARE about characters.

This could be fascinating. I tentatively give my thumbs up. (Say's Azorgamer in a British accent).

I'd love to take Tali out for a night on the town. See Elcor Shakespear, watch Blasto the Jellyfish together, take her to that diner they advertised on the citadel, buy her a few ship models, do some dirty dancing at one of the many, many nightclubs around (aren't Quarians supposed to be good dancers?), kill a few random/obligatory thugs trying to ruin the night, and then finish it the date off with some strip-Skillian Five poker.

Sounds like a great time to me.

You...worry about the guy? That's a woman in the ET outfit. What about her?

Really a whole lot of 'what the OP said', and add to it - I sometimes felt like the larger cast of ME2 made them feel a little less developed in general, so I'd like to see that romance pack also offer galpal/bromance dialogue, or at least a little more than "Can it wait? I'm in the middle of some calibrations" or "I'd like to think about what we talked about".

i was thinking that if they do this, they should make it so you can customize your shep even more like getting tattoos on you forearms or something of your loved one which would be tali for me.

You know, I've never posted in this thread before now because I didn't think there was a snowball's chance in Hell that Bioware would ever release a romance pack.

I am delighted to see that I may have been wrong. :-) I really hope this isn't just a fan-tease.

Yes please.

Although if done, I hope it gives the ME1 romances plenty of attention to make up for their lack of attention in ME2.

To the orignal poster, I could NOT agree with you more!  One of the most amazing things I have come to expect in a Bioware game is a compelling, deep romance option with at least one other character.  It is probably my single favorite part of their games, because it is what adds depth to the game and makes you really care about what happens in the game.
That being said, they are always a little shallow on the actual AMOUNT of content.  I completed ME2 and loved every minute of the game.  The only thing that I was dying for, was more content with the romances.  It really only boils down to a few conversations and a cut scene and that is it.  I really wanted some more conversations and perhaps an additional quest for whoever ends up being your love interest.
If Bioware is considering new options for DLC that players will love, I would suggest a romance DLC with what appears to be the most beloved character (and certainly my favorite) in the game, Tali.  Come on, Bioware, just try it and see how well it does. Image IPB
