Wow, after reading through the posts and clicking the link that said one of the folks at Bioware are actually considering a romance pack, I am psyched!!! It clearly has a lot of support and would add something incredible to the game experience. Since the romance quests would unquestionably include some shooting and fighting bad guys, it would also be a good adventure DLC as well. Not only that, but it would be a fantastic excuse to play through the game again and experience the expanded romances that go along with the story.

Edit:  As an addition to my previous post, I would remind you that back in the Baldur's Gate days, you always had additional quests with your love interest, so this wouldn't be anything new.  Ah, Jaheira, my first pixelated love.

This.

Would definitely love to see a bromance between Garrus or Thane and Shepard.

I support a romance pack if they can some how get it to flow threw the story plot and make it believeable and have it some how continue it in ME3. Cause what's the point in romancing some one new or what not and not having it continue into ME3. If they can figure all that out that I am all for a romance pack lol

I support this thread and the idea!

I think that with ME2's love interest with you on the Normandy, it would be fairly easy to squeeze something romantic in there. Anything would be great... just a quick drink in Afterlife or something even on the Normandy. Shepard saying to Garrus, my treat this time... damn, thinking about it makes my cheeks flush, makes me all giddy, happy all over... maybe I'm just too obsessed, but still... that shouldn't be an excuse to ignore the thoughts, right...?

And Thane even suggested shore leave! The desert! On Earth even! That would be two hits with one stone, since everyone's been complaining about the not-able-to-explore/land on-earth thing. If they get to see a desert in 2183, wouldn't that quiet things down a notch? I certainly have no issue with not seeing earth - it's irrelevant to the flow of things (for now). And, even if they did make landing on earth possible, maybe it would ruin the image they'd gotten in their heads? A costly disappointment for no need... in my opinion. Feel free to flame me or whatever, I stand by my thoughts.

Anyway, got off topic, in conclusion: Romance DLC absolutely, definitely, FTW!

The idea is great, full heart for it.

Big thanks to OP to get this topic see the sun.
And I will buy it for evry price they want. Even twice :)
I must admitt I think about someting like that is missing.

I have all Bioware products, and I will buy everything in the future until they stick to the way they are now. What is UNIQUE in Bioware creations - the special, emotional aproach. I repeat - UNIQUE, and unique is a value. As creators they should take it seriuos. I think everybody knows the sentence "go where no man had gone before". They are. I hope they stay on the course.
There are a lot of shooting games, and I never played this games , becouse I was bored after ten minutes, never want to go back to them. But Mass Effect make me to to take the gun and enjoed it a lot, becouse it was Shapard and her/his story, friends, nemesis. I bought this game as a gift to my four friends, two of them never shot a fly before, now they all do not sleep playing. And I totaly undrstand them.
The game is GREAT, but it could be AWESOME with more dialoques. This was the weak part and I cry for more.

I'm Garrus big fan, since ME1. He was with me on every mission, I liked his comments. I was nearly in heven when Iget the info, he is LI in ME2, but, sorry where is the romance there? Love? Yes, he said I'm his only friend, so he will try ...make sex, thats all. Two hours before mission aproach. 'We could die there so we could do whatever' approach. Emotional - yes, but romace? I do not think so. Romance means talking, sex don't. Who said a word about love?  I was hoped for something after a suicide mission. You all know the end so I do not need to say any more.

SO I'm very happy for the hope of some 'romance DLC' for the game. I do not thik, the charactes need to change, not at all. They have a great potential, but exted it. For friendship and for love.

Some of you afraid a romantic plots, say thay not be interested ( it was only a few, but I still was suprised, becuse I thought there were not even one ME fan, who do not want more dialoque with NPCs). but I do not thik it will be just romantic. I hope for missions with more talking, some secrests only with Shepard to share itd.

"Shepard! The Reapers kidnapped [your LI], are you a bad enough dude to save him/her?"

Good idea. But not reapers, rather some past life old secrets,  and full, not only 3 person squad, but like the SM, all of them, with aproach from different direction, time mision, where everything blow away, and after escaping in the last second there will be nice revelig the secret - just to Shepard - end,  laeding you toward next mission or missions. Maybe something Cerberus want and with hard heart (gladly) sacrifice LI for that.  It could go with every LI, on friendship or love level, but with dialoques, PLEASE.
I would like it.

When I first saw the "romance" pack idea it sounded awful, but your version sounds awesome. You're right, that what makes the game compelling is the player's ability to choose and thereby change the relationships around the player within some kind of adventure, with things at stake. They could have, for example, not bothered creating Kasumi but instead used that setting/adventure as a mission to undertake with an existing squad mate. Anyway, great idea, and I liked how fair minded your idea was, not just devoted to one character or aspect of the game.

The lack of post-romance chat was dissapointing but the romance chat was at least there... No provision was made for friendly chatter beyond the a character's post loyalty mission chat. A Romance/Bromance pack sounds like a great idea and could include random interlude scenes over meals, card games or other shipboard chores or leasure time.

With all the interest surrounding LI polls for both male/female players, I figured I'd do the same for Shepard's closest friends. Being limited to 20 options, I had to make choices. I settled for player gender/closest friend of your Shepard.

I know a lot of players will say "My Shep's best friend IS his/her LI..." but that's not the purpose of this poll. We want to know which characters are most appealing as best friends to Shepard.

Who's gonna play card or share a drink with him/her? Who's gonna tease him/her for daring to drink rynchol in the Dark Star and passing out on the washroom floor? Who's gonna be the one taking the bullet for him/her so he can return to the Normandy and shag his/her LI silly?

Comments are most welcome. Poll can be found at http://social.biowar...664/polls/3602/

We have to let bioware know that we want bromances too along with romances!

I'm tired of having garrus doing his damn callibrations or thane meditating instead of talking to me, especially after the suicide mission.

I would like to see Shepard have more interaction with the love interests, but not in like dating in the Sims.  I think a Romance Pack DLC should have a mission for each love interest with the first part being relaxing with your love interest through dialogue and cutscenes and maybe things you could click on (like where Zaeed is) to which the love interest would say something, and the final part being some mission that comes up and must be resolved.  Although I think a mission first and dialogue/cutscenes after for the ME1 LI's would be more appropriate.  Some examples could include:

Miranda:  Shepard and Miranda are relaxing when they learn of some problem with the Lazarus project because of Wilson (before he was killed) or some Cerberus traitor or someone that could tamper with the Lazarus project.  Maybe it should end with the two storming some research facility with Mechs and mercenaries or traitors of Cerberus (a rogue cell of Cerberus could be interesting).

Jacob: A vacation on Terra Nova or some colonized world that Batarians, led by Balak or some other Batarian, attack and Shepard and Jacob must protect the colony

Thane: Shepard and Thane make a trip to either a dry planet, Khaje, or a ship near the original Drell homeworld and then Thane learns that some Drell warlord or crime boss on either the same dry planet, Khaje, or the Drell homeworld  is trying to make a cure or maybe is trying to accelerate the spread of the disease within Drell that do not support him.

Tali: Relaxing on a space station and then a mission dealing with geth or maybe exiled quarians.

Jack: Relaxing at a casino or night club or dodgy restaurants that are followed up by a mission involving Jack and a former gang or cult that she was involved in.

Garrus: Shepard and Garrus relax at an apartment on the Citadel/explore the Citadel and run into Garrus' father who is involved in some dangerous investigation.

Ashley: A mission involving one of Ashley's family members that ends with some reconcilliation between Ashley and Shepard.

Kaidan: Something with the training of biotics or even an appearance by Rahna that ends in some reconcilliation between Kaidan and Shepard.

Liara:  Shepard finds an unknown Prothean artifact and needs Liara's help that ends with dialogue or a cutscene.

Kelly Chambers (only if she is more than a fling):  Kelly gets kidnapped.  *I know not very exciting, but she would probably be easy to kidnap i.e. throw her in a room with a bunch of attractive aliens that turn out to be smugglers or mercenaries.

Basically, I just think dialogue and cutscenes with the love interests should be balanced with a mission that brings Shepard and the LI closer if there is a romance pack.

Yes I support the idea of a romance pack too, but wouldn't mind if it also expanded a bit more on friendships aswell.

I don't want to listen to anymore talk of calibrations and engines! Image IPB

OP makes a lot of sense. :)

I think that we need more character based mission packs, not simply romance geared ones (although I would love these!!). Even the characters I'm not romancing, I always try to make Shep have as many conversations and exchanges as s/he can. Sometimes, it's just not deep enough.Take Grunt - he calls you battlemaster, he tells ou he has purpose, he feels alive - so where is that taking him? To follow Shep like a puppy? No! He is Krogan, he has his own path. Let's see him walk it!

And would it super hard to encorporate those little bits of character interaction and dialogue you get on certain worlds to include mention of romance/friendship? eg, if you pass out in darkstar, have someone comment! Or on the citadel: "The view from here is pretty romantic. Makes me wish I had a bit more shore leave." etc.

I support this thread!!

I support romance DLC, but for me, I romanced Ash so this is difficult. If there's a short romance dlc with her then that's an easy and kind of lazy way of resolving the issues between her and Shepard. I'd much rather see that romantic storyline unfold throughout the course of ME3. Then again I'm so desperate for something Ash related I'll probably eat up whatever Bioware puts in front of me.

Part of me thinks if there is a romance pack it simply won't include the ME1 love interests, which saddens me, but gives me a lot of hope for ME3. *crosses fingers*

Across the hall from docking berth 367-A, Shepard waited eagerly as an Alliance shuttle docked and the airlock cycled. A tired-looking Ashley, still clad in heavy armor, stepped out onto the Citadel arrival lounge, her kitbag slung over her shoulder. A clutch of Alliance marines followed her out of the airlock, looking similarly tired and eager for a long-postponed shore leave.

Shepard’s wave caught her attention and her face brightened up. They met in the middle of the hall, oblivious to the crowd of onlookers as they hugged, Ashley’s kitbag slipping off her shoulder to the floor.

“How’s things in the Attican Traverse, Ash?” asked Shepard, smiling happily.

“No worse than the galactic core, or so I’m told, skipper…” breathed Ashley before kissing Shepard…
