I support this whole-heartedly, especially if there's one for Dragon Age as well.

What I think - many ppl messing things up. Romance should be romance not sim dates. It is all about talking, changing opinions, geting more dialogs - but between missions and on missions too. Missions are crucial things here.Just like that. I would like to have more talking options, more comments, and some of the interest in Shepard actions from LI. Thats what I see the romace pack. FGS there is no romance in ME2 just sex invitation. Nothing more. And it is sad.

I would like to have more missions regarding crew mates, more background and more RPG. But it is Mass Effect, so it could be in Mass Effect style. If you don't want to romance, you shold have a friendship dialogs and more interaction beetween ppl you saving the galaxy with.

I hope for something like that and I will buy it for any money.

Kasumi and Zaeed - no talking wheel - the problem - no words from Shepard, no talk, just comments - no interaction - I hoped for more bcs both are very interesting characters and both are talking more than Garrus ( very sad thing for me, since I have him from ME1).

And almost every chaacter can have some mission related stuff to their romance plot.

Miranda: Tru to secure her sister -> Family moments
Tali: Try to find better antibiotics to remove the suit
Jack: Cure some traumatic childhood experiences -> Jack gets more fragile and less ******

Jacob: Now this... I don't really care
Garrus: Now this... I don't really know
Thane: Find a cure

However it would be good to have specific romantic dlc. So e.g. a guy who romanced miranda doesn't pay for a dlc that has also Garrus inside... It's a waste of money and a waste of resources because every romance sub-plot would then be criticaly minimised!

[b][i]-Unlike games like Halo which reverts to action shots, half-assed romance scenes, and cliché; you bond with the characters in a Bioware game. Possessing, and letting the player learn their backstory, motives, and wishes is crucial to liking them.

Wow Halo had a half-assed romance scene? I must have missed that - not unless you count the sarge hugging the Elite when you play on legendary....

Anyhow back to the OP - yes yes yes yes, can I start the chant now?Image IPB

So... is there any official word yet, after the Otaku interview, on whether an expansion such as this is gonna be made?

i really, really hope this works, i was so annoyed both with the current DLCs and the fact that most of the romances essentially end after the suicide mission. seriously, can't they find anything else to talk about?

I feel that Bioware need to make another HUB location like the Citadel, Illium or Omega. With this they would have the oppurtunity to add new armour through new vendors/npcs. The new HUB could also feature a central plot with numerous side quests.

I also feel that a romance pack would be a welcome piece of dlc by many players. It would allow us as players to get to know our love interests even more than we already do, building a stronger relationship/connection.

I would also like to point out that Bioware does not take full advantage of the differing backgrounds or even classes. New and unique dialogue or cutscenes could easily rectify this.

Very well put, especially, about there not actually being a lot of actual romance in ME2.  Bumping so this great idea doesn't get lost.

Bioware needs to first address how it's going to do the inbetween information from ME2 and ME3. Think about it, if they do it as DLC, then the people who can't get access to it will be angry that they couldn't properly prepare for ME3. However, if they sell it in stores as an expansion like DA:A, than people will be fine. All that information and the info that needs to be carried over will be a huge load of information. You have to remember what that'll be like. They need to stop putting up DLC (small ones are fine) and start working on what they will do to close the story of the inbetween together.

I'm sure the biggest part of the whole equation is voice acting. It's one thing to develop new content with the programming teams/game engine that Bioware already has, but to bring in the voice actors, you not only need to pay them, but then you have to spend time (involving studio engineers and voice directors) to record the new lines.

It was painfully obvious how little "new" voice work was done for Overlord. They hired some unknowns for the doctor and his brother and then used either minimal Shepard lines or recycled Shepard lines from other missions. The squadmates had no new dialogue, which makes sense, because you wouldn't drag in 12 people just record 1-2 lines each.

IMO, Bioware should plan out the next 4-5 DLC they want to do and script them *now* so that they can bring in the VAs for one mass recording session for cost effectiveness. They can work on the programming later, but that way, they can have the dialogue ready to go when it comes time to release the DLC instead of releasing a DLC with no voice work or having to bring all the VAs in for a tiny amount of dialogue.

I'm a Jack fanboy, personally, what I would enjoy seeing is Jack's past. I'd like to find out what her real name is. I honestly have a feeling that "Jack" is not her name but regardless, I want to see her origins. I want to see where she came from when and if somebody went for her as a love interest. I'm not saying, I want her to get new tattoos or anything, but I'd like to see her personality shape more for Shepard. You just saw parts of her emotion when you were approaching the Omega 4 Relay.

You got to think that Jack had nobody except for that one person who cared about her and then all of a sudden Shepard shows up and you know, maybe she would want some peace of mind and this can relate to Shepard as well, seeing as Shepard (Mine at least) came from the Slums of Earth. So they both could revisit their past, painful or otherwise heart warming.

This is so true. The massive expense to bring everyone in to record this would not be counteracted by the amount of people that would buy the DLC. Unfortunately I don't think there are enough people out there that actually purchase the DLC to offset the cost. I know a lot of fans of the game and have to say that a majority of them are broke and just look forward to a "collector's edition" that will have all the DLC included in it.

I support your idea entirely and wish that I could happen but don't see how they could justify the cost. Plus the programming of the game to offer different story lines according to your LI interactions would make for quite a mess depending on whether people choose to import their Shepard or not. I don't want to be a downer. The DLC they have given us doesn't affect the story line too much or at all for ME3. I believe this is why they designed it the way they did. *sigh* I would love to have some Liara lovin.

I like a lot of these ideas, but I feel like some aspects of the missions should involve conflict between Shepard and the LI that can either be resolved amicably or can result in the dissolution of the romance, there has to be some unpleasant discoveries about Shepard and the LI that catches each of them off guard, and causes each to question the relationship. Not only would it add drama, but it would add more outcome options. It can't be all roses and rainbows, or it will just seem like a drawn-out romance novel scenario. It has to feel real, and real relationships are full of unexpected circumstances, many of which aren't easy and fun.

Becasue my shepard is a space born shep i would find it interesting if i had to take my LI to meet my mother. It would be cool to at least discuss your relationship and recent events with your mother.

It would be interesting in any case to see someone from shepard's past maybe a past LI that has never been mentioned before, this would be background specifc, and this would add a possible conflict, which i agree is a key part of relationships.

Just wanted to say I also support this idea. Would love to see more romance dialog for everyone. Especially Tali of course.

Maybe even a mini or full expansion for ME2 (ala Dragon Age) where it bridges the gap to ME3, with a LOT character dialog, romance, story-line, etc. I would pay for it!

I would much rather have DLC that had cool missions, or new story. Guns, space stations, characters.

I know this has been said a hundred times, but play the ****ing Sims.

In ME, romance should always be a side thing. It should always take a back seat to blowing **** up.
