After waiting 30 minutes on the phone with them, they finally decided that the issue in my ME2 was a problem with that particular copy of the game. Not sure if it's true or not, but they're sending me a new one, so...
EA was actually helpful...

650-628-1001. Just be prepared to wait for up to 30 minutes. I just wish they were right about my game...but alas...I am apparently just a very unlucky person. The game won't work right no matter how many copies of the game I try... Good luck.
