Did not know that thank you still looking right now this game really needs to have an accessible rogue npc that can join. Only one Ive run into is Zehvan and well he sucks on unlocking things.

Wasn't the Grimoire in First Enchanter Irving's desk?
At least that's where I found it. It wasn't locked up or anything, I remember thinking "What the heck is the Grimoire doing in the First Enchanter's desk?"
Or maybe I'm remembering wrong.

I didn't need a rogue to get the grimoire for Morrigan. Now my only problem is killing Flemeth. Best I've done is lower her to 3/4, then I run out of pots to supplement Wynne's healing. I guess that means I need more pots to win, blargh.

You find Flemeth's first Grimoire in the Circle Tower. It's the black one. Give that to Morrigan. Next time in camp she tells you stuff that is important and then asks you to go kill Flemeth to get the Second and REAL Grimoire. Boy that's a ****. I haven't been able to kill Flemeth and won't leave Morrigan to... well if you know what I'm talking about then yea. If not, you'll have to see

weird I have the black one but no option to give it to her, Then again all the gifts are greyed out over the option to gift them so I dunno is it bugged?

Are you switched to the character that you want to give it to on the inventory screen? For example, to give a gift to Morrigan you have to have her selected on the inventory screen and then the gifts can be given to her.

Um. You can pick up a rogue, Leliana, in the very first town you visit. And she's good with lockpicks.

Leliana is a rogue that you get from the Lothering >< before Zerevan.

The Black grimoire that is found in the mage tower is not Flemeth's grimoire, it is a book that records Flemeth's behavior and explains why she can live for so long - doesn't cover many of her spells.
Once the Black grimoire is given to Morrigan she will ask you to kill Flemeth later on because the grimoire explains that Morrigan is the chosen vessel for Flemeth to possess. Then you travel back to Flemeth's hut and are given 2-3 options (3 if you are a mage):
1. Flemeth offers you the chance to redeem her grimoire without consequence, claiming she will be interested to see how Morrigan will use her spells. If you accept this option it will involve lying to Morrigan about killing Flemeth which does not involve losing any approval points or favor (for future romance options), Flemeth gives you the key to the chest inside her hut that contains her grimoire, this avoids having to fight Flemeth the Shapeshifter as a difficult high dragon.
2. Be daring by threatening to kill Flemeth in Morrigan's defense per as Morrigan requested, this option sends you straight into the Flemeth fight and upon Flemeth's death you receive a sword (Ageless - awesome 2handed sword for fighting darkspawn) and the key to Flemeth's chest which contains her grimoire. Once again, Flemeth's grimoire is not the Black Grimoire.
3. As a Mage PC/MC (main character) the dialogue option comes up where you tell Flemeth your desire to keep Flemeth's grimoire for yourself, since mages can use grimoires. Once you select that option Flemeth will explain that you must earn the right to take her grimoire for yourself, afterwards the fight will begin.
Note: I would love to explore option 3 for myself, I know of it because I completed the game as a Mage. Unfortunately, I did not explore this option at the time. I am very curious about what happens if option 3 is chosen as a mage PC.
