I was burgled on Saturday morning (between 12:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. when I was at work.

They took my XBOX 360, the three games on the small desk next to the XBox 360, and a 23" Samsung LCD Montior, as well as some miscellaneous items (an odl mobile phone running Windows Mobile 5 amongst other things).

The three games taken were:

Mass Effect 1 - Box, manual, DVD.  I had pre-ordered it so Is till ahve the Bonus DVD as it was sitting int eh bookshelf.
Dragon Age Origins Collector's Edition DVD and possibly the manual (haven't foudn ti int he cleanup yet).  I still have the box and the bonus DVD, and the DLC Codes I believe.
Mass Effect 2 Collector's Edition - Everything except some fo the unlock items.

Not happy :-(

yea that sucks, i hate thieves

the day before Christmas 2004 my roommates and i all left to do family stuff, i got a call about 7pm saying i needed to come home because we had be burglarized. They got my ps2 and about 10 games, also stole 20+ cds and about as many dvd's, my gf lost a bunch of dvds, and the other roommates lost a bunch of dvds, his monitor, several pc games and his xbox

what crushed me most was my 2 memory cards had all the games i had beaten on psone and the ps2 games at that point, was devastated at that, many many many hours gone that could not be replaced

Yeah, it's frustrating. I had only just gotten Mass Effect 2 and started playing it. Funny thing is, they didn't take any of my CD's, DVD's, or limited edition comics (like the hardcover re-release of Watchmen).

yea it was strange what they took as well, 3 of us had computers, which they didnt take aside from the monitor, not all dvds and cds were taken and all of our tv's stayed which made us think they rushed. sad day indeed, so i feel your pain

Did they steal anything else? You should take an inventory of your belongings to make sure nothing is missing. That theft was pretty specific. I guess they were spooked for some reason and decided to get out of there fast. In any case that must feel awful. :( My sympathies for the loss.

Please....that is not the least bit funny...

What if your stuff was taken? would you joke about it? I don't mean to be rude or anything, but I feel for Anestis. Whenever your stuff gets stolen from you, you feel kinda violated and angry...

I was upset. They turned everything inside out, anything that could hold valuables. They dumped a bottle of wine over some towels hanging on a clotheshorse, some of which went into a bag containing some RPG books, and some on the carpet.

For the moment, I'e changed my XBox Live password, suspended the account, and have changed my EA password.

As for if it's someone I know, I don't know. There's been similar thefts around the area recently. One workmate has been burgled three times in as many months.

Serial numbers have been reported to the police.

I've been burgled before as well and know the seriousness behind the feelings of violation, etc.  Some people deal with tragedy through humor.  Sometimes a good joke can lighten someone's spirit.

That is true, since I joke around with my friends about all the bad stuff that has happened to me. But, it's quite hard to determine the nature of one's post since there is no tone of voice in forums. So, I apologise for misunderstanding you.

@Anestis
Hope you get your stuff back.

Ah, yes, that also happened once to my family. (but it's, like, a loooong time ago) That time, a lot of people in our neighborhood were burglarized. Well, that one time we came home from a restaurant and we suddenly noticed someone had broken in through the door (there was a small breach in the window next to the door of the garden, which showed they had forced the lock of that door open). The thief had taken some credit cards from my father and some valuable necklaces and rings of my mom... After that, my father installed a burglar alarm and since then, there haven't been any burglaries anymore. But, as I said, it was a loooong time ago, so I don't remember everything correctly anymore.

My advice: install a burglar alarm!

Oh yes, I forgot to mention it, but, like everyone else here, I sincerly hope you get your stuff back! Please tell us when the police in your neighborhood finds something out!

It may be a poor comfort, but at least you or someone dear to you wasn't injured...

That may seem like a small comfort now. but if it had been a home invasion that got bungled....

Ouch, seriously sorry to hear about it. Hope they find the responsible bastards.

Still, If some thieves would come in my home at night, they probably wouldn't survive the encounter. I keep a combat knife close to my bed all the time, and plus, the main door makes one heck of a big sound when people open it, so it is impossible to sleep when it is opened.

I hate thieves...

statistics state that 96% of all burlaries are committed by someone that knows you and your daily routines. It happened to me once also and the culprit was caught and sent to prison.Turns out it was someone I considered to be a close friend.Ended that friendship and the 3years in prison I think was good for him too...hope they put him in with 'Bubba"...lol

You cannot know how dangerous these burglars can be, so you risk your life like that. And I have to say, and am afraid to say, that chances are very little you get out unharmed.

Yea i hope you find out who did this to you, unfortunately they never caught the person/persons who robbed us. As for what you feel afterwards, i felt unsafe, violated, and felt i had no privacy. Horrible horrible way to feel and it took time. Hell to this day 5 years later i still get a empty feeling in my stomache when i first come home dreading i may have been burgalurized again.

good luck Anestis

Sorry to hear that, it sucks. I was once burgled and I was living in a small community that time, we found out who it was, and I can say that in the end, he returned the stuff right onto my doorstep, didn't take much pursuation.
