Right now, Im getting an average of 4-5 on Mass Effect 2 as soon as the "press any button to continue" screen comes up. I know the system requirements say windows xp service pack 3 is required, but I ran Dragon Age at max graphics with hardly every any drop in fps, and according to the requirements on steam sp3 is required. A few months ago when someone "accidentally" did a destructive restore on my computer, I tried to install sp3 and the result was only about 25-50 seconds of time on a browser before it would just stop responding, meaning I couldn't get to the windows update page in time to try and update everything.
So all in all, my computer is perfectly fine for the first time in the past 6 months (excluding ME2), but I would be willing to update to sp3 if any of you guys think it would make any difference whatsoever?
Could xp sp2 be a problem?
