ya, it was a pita for me as well on insanity. i was a soldier, so, it wasnt AS bad. but it was still rough. the hardest part is keeping your team mates alive. this requires a LOT of attention and micromanaging (which i hate). i never used "c" to recall my team, i always told them to run some place ahead of me so theyd stop and shoot, then id advance them again with me covering them from the husks. when we wittled a husks armor away, i had garrus and myself concussion shot them. seemed to work for me at least. myself and my team just ran around the outside edge of the map avoiding the scions as best as we could.

Yeah, the Scions are always the most dangerous enemies out there, being accompanied by Husks they kill you even on Normal if you don't hold back. For me it only got comfortable when Legion got his Widow anti-materiel rifle, and even then, they last like no other. I just run from them. I'm only starting my Insanity playthrough, but I suppose I'll be using a lot more Heavy Weapons this time around. It just takes so much punishment to bring them down. If the last boss fight involved Scions, it would have been ten times as difficult.

I still think a fight with a Praetorian, 2 Scions, and 10 Husks would be rediculously harder than the end boss.

The Widow makes everything easier. >.>

Praetorians are in a sense easier than Scions and Husks, because ducking behind cover actually works, and you can easily have it's attention on you while your teammates throw grapes at it until it dies from old age. No, I'm not bitter...

I find husks to be easy to deal with actually. With Soldier its as simple as firing the assault rifle full auto while back peddling (Quake 101), throw in a concussive shot every cooldown, and turn around and sprint when they get too close. You can take on 30-40 husks that way with no real danger of dying, not that there's a fight that requires you to deal with that many.

I'll take on that Praetorian, 2 Scions or 4, and 10 husks... as long as I have a 200% charged Cain and start across a giant room from them >.>

I cleared the exact part you are taking about just yesterday with my adept on insanity so I may be able to help.

As soon as the mission started I made a dash for the giant locked door to the rear of the area ( I believe it is the one you entered through) with stairs and a central divide. I used the collector heavy beam rifle to clear incoming husks quickly, and once the husks are down you can use the stair divide to block the shockwave attacks while you hammer them with powers and any and all ammo you have. Don't worry about your teammates dying. Also note you cant actually use the divide as cover (as it you wont attach to it) but it will block the Scion's attacks as long as it is between you and them.

I found Singularity more useful for dealing with husks then Shockwave (this was on veteran, though, on higher difficulty levels may not work so well.) But you can Singularity a choke point to tie up a lot of husks, or cast Singularity where you're standing so they won't be bothered. For the fight on Horzion I used this to quickly clear out husks, then hit the Scions with the Particle Beam.

I also didn't realize until later in the game that Concussive Shot gets bonus damage against biotic barriers, would've been good to know for this fight.

Husks on insanity have armor, which is mega lame for biotic characters who have crappy guns, especially with no room to backpedal cause the door you came in through locked behind you. D:

Managed to do it finally. lol.

I started over and used the doctor and Grunt and basically used incinerate and concussive shot on cooldown while staying in cover. I also focused on killing the husks as soon as they're visible. After about 10 tries I managed to kill one of the Scions and all the husks. After a sloppy death and another couple tries I finally did it after 2 days.. LOL

The boss fight after was a lot easier, did that in 2 tries. But yeah, the doctor with AOE incinerate helps A LOT during this fight.

The fight on horizon can actually be trivialized by just running to the platform to the left and take cover there. The husks that climb there would not appear when you're on top of the platform (in my hardcore playthrough). You can then leisurely blow the scions or pick of the husks that come from the other side when they're near.

Use powers when appropriate.
