Piece of armor.. claims to "Increase spare ammo pack by 10%"
Does this actually do anything? I haven't noticed an increase in the amount of ammo I have and I really don't understand the word.. spare. What's a spare ammo pack?
Don't really know if this is a bug or just something I don't understand.

It does actually do something, raising your max ammo slightly(though for some reason max 400 ammo only goes up to 439 instead of 440 ). The armor piece does seem to be bugged, it often turns on in off, another person in another thread asked about this, mentioning something about it being related to mods, and saving and reloading would reset the value, but thats based on memory, id search for his thread.

It must be bugged, but it looks pretty cool so I use it.

sometimes i notice that i have more ammo and other times i have less like the erm forgot the name of the assault rifle (the one you get from getting Garrus) sometimes i have 96 and other times 102 or something i never associated it to bugged gauntlets thanks for reminding it to me so i guess they are really bugged

I'm gonna raise this from the dead, just cause I want to see if there is any more info on this (and because I seem to have some that isn't mentioned).
Anyway, when using this it does not add ammo for either the mantis or widow for my infiltrator, but it does on my heavy pistol and smg (the un-upgrade one).
Has any more info come out about this recently?

I'm bringing this up again because I've started getting the glitch. I use this armor piece with the Vindicator, and for the longest time, I had no problems with it. My magazine count stayed at 24 like it's supposed to, but my reserve ammo was at 105 while wearing the Off-Hand Ammo Pack. When I picked the Vindicator up this time, I had only 96, which I wasn't too surprised about. What I was surprised about was that I couldn't pick up the other 9 rounds, despite the fact that there's a ton of Thermal Clips lying around Archangel's base.
Now, I just shut down my system and turned it back on, and everything seems to be okay, but having to shut down every time this crops up is annoying.

Indeed it is.
Personally, I don't feel the 10% bonus is enough to justify the sometimes brokenness. Especially because the high ammo count weapons don't need it as much. Sure, they are fast firing, but they seem to have proportionally more ammo, or get more.
I just switched to the more damage.

I'm having the same problem plus some...
Not only does the off-hand pack seem functionless at times, i.e. only allowing stock ammo amounts to be carried, it will also on occassion cause missions/assignments to start with 10% LESS ammo than stock. This scenario leads to being able to pick up the difference in ammo, but only to stock quantities.
Though by no means a game-breaker, it would be nice to have this bug addressed. The single extra round provided for the Mantis/Widow sniper rifles can be a real VL saver!

I almost always use it, and it seems to works fine for me. Maybe I'm just lucky.
